  1. Cheers both. I have ordered a Sonic Titanium with rose leather 300h F SPORT. Protection pack and standard nav. Due end of November or a tad earlier. Originally wanted Azure blue with black leather but the spec i wanted "wasn't available".... I suspect a facelift is in the pipeline. I have 57 plate Mazda RX8 231 black with cream leather. Attend Jap car and general uk motorsport events in it. The Lexus is poles apart from the rotary and I really like the effortless driving and sophistication of the 300h. Can't wait to haveit in my garage!

  2. managed to get decibel noise levels from this site and seems the IS300h is quieter at most cruising speeds than the IS250 and CT200h not by much but still enough to make a difference http://www.auto-decibel-db.com/index.html

  4. Also worth noting, their place of choice HAS to be registered as a camera position, they can’t just set up at any point, as they are “safety cameras” and not “speed cameras” they can’t be seen to be entrapping the public, the locations they can set up at are on the Webbsite for all to see

  5. Just because the oil in the photo looks dark it doesn’t mean it’s not doing it’s job. I wouldn’t imagine your pristine new oil would stay that nice cherry red for more than a minute inside the box, even with a full flush.

  7. Some folks have been known to remove the sensors from the wheels and fit them into a pressurised box, tucked away somewhere in the boot. But if you don't have TPMS button on the underside of both front footwell panels, then presumably your car didn't come with TPMS. FYI: TPMS button locations on my GS are like this (except mines right hand drive); Reference, from an ES.

  8. First thing I looked for after ordering my F sport was plate options. Decided to go with L300RCF . Ok, strictly speaking not getting an RC-F but it is a 300 RC F Sport. Think I can get away with that!

  9. Just checked the service sheet from Lexus-tech.eu for both the RF300h and the RC-F Just as the post in my link stated. Use the LT for standard or torque vectoring diffs and the LX for the LSD diff

  11. Had the issue with an early Soarer 1UZFE not long after the timing belt had been changed. Managed to change the parts myself but would have been much easier done at the time of the timing belt. For my current car I got an Aisin tensioner and idler ridiculously cheap from Rockauto so it was a no brainer when I had the timing belt done. I do a lot of preventative maintenance...

  12. It’s got all the same numbers and letters, 75W-85. GL-5 is mentioned in the specifications section. It’s going in the diff as soon as I’ve finished decorating.

  13. Hi, mods please don't ban me if I post this here. I'm unable to find a section for "free stuff giveaway". Also I'm unable to purchase gold membership at the moment and want to contribute to this forum. I have a brand new rear parcel shelf from IS220 IS250 in beige colour to give away for free. It will only fit cars without rear curtain i believe. This genuine Lexus part was given to me by my close friend who sold his beloved car, so it is up for grabs! Collection from London, East London. PM me if you interested. Completely free of charge. Picture attached.

  15. Diesel powered engines are ideally suited for constant load ( Heavy) constant revs and long run periods ( Hours, Days or Weeks even as in the case of Trains, Ships & Generators for example) Not (and it beggars belief that it is a surprise when it causes problems) in the case of a school run then coffee morning super clean ( as in never been in the mud) 4x4 Chelsea Tractor with Stop/Start!!!! Horses for courses as they say but I feel that the DERV is doomed ( for small short journey vehicles anyway) paul m.

  16. Pistonheads still having its "I can't believe a luxobarge doesn't empty your wallet" moment. The LC500 review fails to note that the roads in the UK are now poorer than in South Africa and other developing nations, and a car built for the US won't ride as well on them. Large wheels are a disaster for ride comfort across the board. Any heavy car will start needing suspension refreshes from about 60k miles on. The fact that the LS400 will still cope admirably if things are ignored is an amazing thing.

  17. So a mate picked this up today... great color combo, he’s chuffed with himself.. just wondering if it’s anyone on here’s old steed?? It’s headed to Northern Ireland so it’ll see plenty of backroads no doubt!

  21. Warning: long post So travelling on motorway this morning and I come off onto an A road. Stuck in slow moving traffic. Car in front moves forward and when I take my foot off the brake and touch the gas the car does not move and just revs up. I look down to make sure it's not in neutral. It was in drive so used the display button to see what gear I am in and it's stuck in 6th! I put it manual however it would not change gear. I then turned the car off and on again. It now reset and went into first using the paddles. Travelled about a mile and stopped at next set of lights. When I tried to set off again it it would not come out of first gear. Then the CEL, traction light came on with a warning to check VSC. I then pulled over as the car had clearly gone into limp mode. I called lexus recovery and waited for them to arrive. When the guy arrived he jumped in and tried to put it in gear but it just rolled back. As the car rolled back I noticed a big puddle of oil on the road. Turns out the gearbox had just dumped it's oil, hence the reason for the car going into limp mode. The car has been recovered to Lexus dealers. Luckily the car is under warranty. I was told they can't look at it today but hopefully they can first thing Monday morning. I was not offered a courtesy car as they had none available, however I was not even offered a lift home and they just said to you want us to call you a taxi or can somebody pick you up. A bit of a let down in regards to customer service. Anyway, spoke to one of the mechanics and he said it could simply be a hose that has leaked and replacement with a top up of oil or could be due a new gearbox if it has been badly damaged! Will keep you guys updated. However please keep an eye out for any leaks on your car's just in case. Sully
