  1. not a vehicle motion sensor but there is a microwave interior sensor. You can disable the interior sensor by second pressing the lock button (depending on vehicle age), you should get 5 indicator flashes.
  2. ignition timing may be incorrect or you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Is the engine running hot?
  3. try and stretch to the new model if possible. Guildford are fine with sales. How many miles will you do a year?
  4. I think an oil change is 4.2 litre with filter. A dry engine needs 4.6 litres. Would be a little bit more with a turbo because of the oil in the lines and turbo itself.
  5. I think the only issue is the hassle of using it.
  6. No I don't think it does. It is basically the same spec as the UK SE model.
  7. The 400h also gets a higher spec as standard over the US RX330 so the real price difference is even less.
  8. The service would be about £300. No different from any other Lexus model. Did you shop around the dealers? Prices can vary between them. I wouldn't have brought tyres from a dealer, they can be obtained cheaper elsewhere. Our gold membership can get you up to 15% off dealer servicing. I have the service history for my car, it's 20,000 mile service cost over £700 with new pads and discs etc. Just had it's 40,000 mile service and it cost me about £250 and the brakes are only 30% worn. So either the previous owner used to keep his foot on the brake all the time of the dealer changed things that really didn't need doing. They also charged him for 2 air filters!
  9. The only thing is the 3.5 V6 will be a different design of engine. The RX300 and RX330 have basically the same engine and if they are stopping production of one then maybe they will stop the other. 6-speed transmission will be nice and the new engine will probably be more economical than the old 3.3
  10. click on each picture to load the full size image. :)
  11. I wonder if the UK will get the RX350 when it replaces the RX330 in the US next year?
  12. A re-gas is under £100 but you will also need to find out why it has lost pressure in the first place.
  13. No Lexus uses IR for central locking and all CAT 1 alarms (fitted as standard to 1995 onwards Lexus models) have anti grab rotating codes.
  14. if you buy series II wheels make sure they come with centre caps. They are about £33 each from dealers.
  15. They are available from Lexus dealers, not cheap though. You need to be careful when buying second hand early style wheels as they seem to buckle easily and you could end up wasting money.
  16. could try using a different supply source for the Greddy E-01, that will probably be drawing an amp or two.
  17. not sure if they are selling in the US properly, just a few test users. The prices have gone up though!
  18. It will use quite a bit more fuel than the IS I would recommend you get the transmission fluid changed.
  19. 5W30 is not really available in the UK as a full synthetic, either use 0W40 or 10W40. If you are doing long runs and service your car more than once a year then semi-synthetic would be fine. You could even use mineral oil if you change it every 5k miles. Lexus only state the specifications that need to be met, which are in the owners handbook. Any oil that meets those specs can be used. Most Lexus dealers use fully synthetic oil but some also use semi-synthetic.
  20. The engine needs over 4 litres. You do not have to use full synthetic oil and 5W30 is the prefered choice according to the owners manual.
  21. I guess it depends if they are changing brake fluid and/or coolant? If neither it should be £200 max.
  22. The 2.2D won't be out until some time in 2006 - hopefully early in the year but no dates released yet.
  23. gearbox capacity is 1.9 US quarts.
