  1. On my old Merc., holding the key in the locked position CLOSED all the windows and roof. My'94 LS doesn't do this, maybe the '98 has a feature to open or close all. Check your USA site someone will know!!
  2. I still suspect the pad wear indicators.........have a good look along the wires, is the plug on top of the hub secure. any break will put the light on.
  3. On a really old unamed petrol tanker.......BULK CURRY FOR BAGALADESH
  4. Has the car been in an accident? Has the suspension been pushed back on one side ? Don't know any thing about your model, but this sound like an alignment problem Someone with more info will probably know and send in a post.
  5. As above, if the exhausts and cats are'nt leaking, wait till they do! Emission problems may be else where, plugs, leads, injectors etc. etc. ;)
  6. The pad wear light will come on if the wire next to the pad wears through when the pads are low, causing an open circuit
  7. On my '94 UCF10 those codes show as 11 open or short in room temp. sensor 14 as above in water temp. sensor Code 24 not shown Someone with your model year will no doubt post...... If no joy trawl the USA site........ :)
  8. Click on visit USA LOC, above.....!! plenty LS 400 there! :winky:
  9. Try pulling out the DOME fuse in Junction Block 2 [under bonnet right] for 10 seconds to clear the the code memory and try again for new codes. No code 16 on mine.......21 is suggested open or short circuit in the solar sensor [Front right of dash near w/screen]

  11. When you fitted the front discs did you clean up the hub to make sure the new discs fit dead flat i.e. to run true.?
  12. As above with a squirt of WD 40! :winky:
  13. I don't know you, but I hope you have a speedy recovery, ban illness I say, it should't be allowed! ;)
  14. Take it up with Paypal, [i know they belong to ebay] they got me a refund of £60 for a duff item. Send all the details to them.
  15. Sad that in the past the wrong person may have been hanged in error. Surely with the aid of DNA and modern methods this problem would be virtually eliminated. If there is any doubt then commute to life inprisonment. Since the death penalty was removed[nice in a civilised society which we don't have], I would like to know how many innocent people have been murdered compared to how many were hanged in error. If you are prepared to take someones life, you should be prepared to forfeit your own. Criminals today are happy to gamble the so called life inprisonment, they rarely do ten years. Then there is 'tagging', what a joke ,the dog is wearing most of these. Do you want your children rubbing shoulders with these people? :yack:
  16. There was step by step post for this if I remember right, search old posts, early this year or late last year, or knowledge base.
  17. Wild guess, if trans. has been out has the neutral start switch been disturbed? The one that stops you starting the car in 'Drive'
  18. Hard ride for you if you get 20"! I've got 17'' on and they made a difference to the ride quality. Have you checked the price of tyres for 20"......I thought mine were bad enough near £150 a corner......
  19. There is a reset button mine.........do you have one? Think you get a fresh reboot.........
  20. Stay on it....you got it all right. Long time ago when I was young, a murder was front page news. It's so common now, football scores come first. I object to paying to keep murderers alive......... too many do gooders. I'm for public hanging! That would make 'em think twice! :shutit: :yack:
  21. I fixed my dash too....but I went really reckless and bought all three capacitors as recommended, cost me 8p each. I've got over it now.......
  22. If no joy, ask local Autopaint or similar company to mix some for you. These people usually have all the paint codes and mix paint for body shops.
  23. AVG for me too!!....along with AD-Aware Also run Spyware Doctor once a week.
  24. Even after new front discs and pads, I found I had to lean on the brakes more in my '94 Ls, than my old Merc. However they do work! you just adjust your driving, and when you really want them they are there!!
  25. Does it make any difference when you turn the knob near the instrument panel that dims/brightens the instruments?
