  1. I also fitted door edge protectors, came colour codes and you just tap them on with a rubber mallet. One pic of my NX and one of the door edges from my IS.
  2. Done it on mine as soon as it arrived, couple of tins from Halfords made to the correct colour, primer and clear coat. As you say, it breaks up the slab sides. I also done the same with my IS300h, but that time sourced them ready painted from the U.S.
  3. The large panel comes out, it's a bit tricky due to its location and you need to be agile to see into the fuse box.
  4. It's the panel just above the passengers feet, you can unclip it at the back edge then slide it backwards a bit to remove it completely after disconnecting the footwell lamp. There isn't much room in that area, but you should be able to tap into the correct feeds, on all the time and on with ignition if you're using something like the power magic pro.
  5. Electricity produced by the engine and from the battery powers the motor the turns the wheels. Simplified explanation from a numpty..
  6. All I got was a poxy leatherette one from Lexus, but I managed to snaffle a nice Mercedes USB stick from my daughter.
  7. Had it done on three cars, Gyeon and Koche Chemie both of which are very good. Also, I would recommend Gtechniq glass treatment, lasts more than 1 year, but is easy to apply and reapply. At anything above 40mph the water just streams off the windscreen and you hardly need the wipers. Whatever you do, don't bother with Supagard, it's pants and just a commission earner for salesmen.
  8. I'd go back and ask them if they'd like to argue their case with trading standards..
  9. Waiting to see what the final specs and cost is going to be.
  10. I could do with a couple more inches travel on the steering wheel adjustment.
  11. Got to this number in the Jeep Liberty (Cherokee in the U.K.) back in 2010.
  12. Lexus clock looks much classier than the Toyota digital one in my sons car.
  13. Had a small graze on the way home tonight, other car merging into my lane was under the impression that he had the right to move over irrespective of me being alongside him. Scuff on the front wing and door, but luckily the camera caught his number. I'll get the damage checked tomorrow and see if it's worth claiming or find his address and take a dump in his letter box.... as you say, no one gives a **** these days, that's why I'm in favour of involuntarily euthanasia..
  14. Ducati 160cc, Truimph 350cc, Ford Corsair, Austin 1100, Hillman Imp, Mk 1 Cortina, Mk 2 Cortina, Fiat 131, Mk 4 Ford Cortina, Datsun Sunny, Vauxhall Corsa, Shed loads of Toyota Landcruisers, pick ups minibuses and 4runners while at work. Jeep Liberty Toyota Auris, Lexus IS300h and now an NX300h
  15. Put your sizes into various dealers like Kwik Fit and see what comes up in the db specs. You might get lucky. BTW watch out for the prices, checked online at Kwik Fit for tyres and the price was £101.86 fitted and balanced, but the actual depot in Belfast had the price at £124.75.
  16. Pic of one of the discs from my sons GT-86. Three and half year old with 22,000 miles on the clock, plenty of meat left on the pads, but they were pretty tight and rusted in the mounting brackets which no doubt allowed the rust buildup. This type of thing is very common nowadays and garages rely on this being a regular income cash cow. Luckily for my wallet, £350 for a complete set of genuine Toyota pads and discs fitted by myself. I think it would have been in the region of £650 if taken to a dealer.
  17. I use Adblock to keep them at bay..
  18. Yes it was the Crystal Serum. One year in and the finish is still good, plus I put the GTechniq stuff on the glass, water just runs up the screen at at anything over 40mph. I also give it a good wax every two or three washes. The main thing with the application is to keep the car dry at least overnight.
  19. Have had both GTechniq and CQ on my cars and both performed very well. Easy to wash and beaded well for over a year. I also gave the paintwork a good going over with wax to add to the protection. The price you've been quoted seems on the high side, but I suppose that's the normal for the London area.
  20. Received an email this morning, but I traded the car into Lexus Newcastle a year ago..
  21. I had an IS300h as well and averaged about 44mpg so my figures for both cars are below most other owners. But that will be down to the roads and traffic for me, so I wouldn't take it for granted that you will see your MPG figure plummet.
  22. I have the BlackVue front and rear, this is on the IS, hardly noticeable.
  23. Done around 250 miles today going from Edinburgh to Washington and return. Down the A1 and back up thru Coldstream so there was a good variety of road types. Not hanging about, but driving briskly gave me a reading of 39mpg on the dash. Not bad, but it could be a bit better.
