  1. Not Lexus but still valid. Just had new tyres fitted on my 2000 Citroen XM 3L at Chris Mullins tyres, Gloucester. Worth the 68 mile round trip for a proper job done. Many tyre places are less than perfect (in my Lexus experience life) and quite a few can't handle wheels with no centre spaces. Mullins guy had 20+ years experience-his landlord has several Citroens! Definite recommendation. (Michelin Energy Savers)
  2. Michelin Cross-Climate? Just about to put 2 Michelin Energy savers on my Citroen XM. Comments I've had are that I wouldn't need extra grip/Cross climates in UK as winter short....no usually icy. (Plus I rarely drive far in winter-or at all.)
  3. Stick with it! It's THE Lexus car! Remember the adage; the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Or v-versa!
  4. What!!?? You mean it's NOT from Wagyu cattle, kept away from barbed wire to avoidscarring on the leather? If they use Piano grade wood, ......surely the leather is, organic, cured when the moon is full, by 'Leather Masters' who follow on centuries old traditional processes. (When I visited a Temple in Kyoto,it was HUGE..... it turned out to be 2/3rd the original size, rebuilt after a fire in 800AD!! They do things VERY properly in Japan)
  5. Leather neeeeds regular attention. Especially when it gets so hot inside the car-dries out the leather. We probably polish cars a lot, but forget to feed the leather as much as we should? Don't forget to Armorall the plastic surfaces as well.
  6. CAR mag did do a side-by-side comparison of the (SER 1,I think) and the Rolls. Said the Rollls had more gravitas, but otherwise, the Lexus was better.
  7. Sand/kids....it's a CAR!! Made to carry things, not mollycoddle! Pope? Famously drives a Fiat 500! (Look it up!)
  8. My neighbour told me that he liked "not hearing" my car drive past! The silent glide design.
  9. It's to carry that rather large, stubble-faced geezer in the last pic? ....and I was just looking at one of THESE in contrast!
  10. (Post hi-jack warning....) I got the 3090s a couple of years back rewired etc.! In MY impoverished youth I bought Leak sandwiches from an auction.....still got them, keep out of nostalgia. Show your wife THESE?
  11. "Was no spring chicken" Definite ageist comment here!!! And totally obselete. If you think that rock + roll was in 1950s; the Beatles (I went to same school) were 1960s -broke up in '71. That is quite a while back. We children of the 60s have tried HARD to stay young (those who didn't sell out and become Tories!)And we like music! I sold my 1000LPs only last year-still have CDs, though use HDD now. If you could see my speakers in my house!.......Leak 3090s, my second set-up.see pic......and I bought the LS 400 in part because (another oldie) Setright rated the sound quality. As to 'they weren't connected.'.....DOH!
  12. 1984. Traction Avant, 1955 version, so 29 years old. AA Euro insurance for 8 weeks trip-and paid out for hire car, hotel,(broke drive-shaft after 6 weeks) AND break-in. Was a great trip despite all. Where I realised that you couldn't be lost if you weren't going anywhere.
