  1. Possbily another silly suggestion; would it be worth trying to eject/re-insert the SD card (assuming the RC is like the RX in this regard, and you've not tried this already)?
  2. I'm not sure of your level of knowledge on Lexus cars, but some thoughts to bear in mind when considering the RX 450h. The hybrid drivetrain and traction battery system seem to be very reliable in general. There is no alternator, starter motor, clutch, conventional gearbox or turbo for example, which are parts that could likely fail at some point on other cars. The interior (certainly the 4th gen RX, of which I have experience of) is of a very high quality, and seems well put together. One point that has been mentioned countless times on these forums, is the relatively small size of the 12v battery. This is something that could be problematic if you only drive short distances infrequently, but most of the time this shouldn't be an issue.
  3. Hi Pete, This may not be much help to you, but I noticed the RRG Group (franchise for Lexus Bolton and Lexus Stockport) offer the NextBase dashcam and fitting for £275 (including VAT and fitting). Might be worth asking Lexus Ipswich if they can match this price. https://www.rrg-group.com/lexus/service-parts-offers/integrated-dash-cam/
  4. Honest John's Twitter profile (https://twitter.com/hjhimself) mentions another website, but it doesn't seem to be active at the moment: http://www.honestcaranswers.co.uk/
  5. You should be able to press down on the bottom of the cup holder nearest the dashboard to push the base down. The button is used to return the height of the cup holder to normal.
  6. Looks like someone has tried to retro-fit some LED daytime running lights. Not sure about the look though!
  7. Great video! Someone in the YouTube comments apparently looked up the Denso/Lexus part numbers, and said it appeared to be from a RX350/450h.
  8. Lexus themselves recently recorded a telematics experiment using an RX400h over 2037 miles, to see what percentage of journeys used battery electric power alone. Potentially, this could be extrapolated out to give a very rough figure (as they mention in the article, this is dependent on many factors like the car itself, driving conditions, driving style, etc.). https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-rx-400h-project-telematics/
  9. Hi Alan, Lexus lists their service prices here: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/vehicle-service/#pricing Mine is also due in September, and I'll be have the full 20k even though the RX has only done 6700 miles since new (although I have a service plan which should take the sting out of the wallet somewhat).
  10. Hi Robert, E10 fuel shouldn't cause any problems with your RX450h. Below are the Lexus models that are affected: https://check-vehicle-compatibility-e10-petrol.service.gov.uk/manufacturer/Lexus
  11. Hi Herbie, have you tried entering 'Utt' rather than 'Ut', would that bring up Uttoxeter?
  12. I'm hoping to take the RX up to the west coast of Scotland in the autumn, all being well. Some good driving roads up there for those with a more agile car than mine 😉 (from memory A816, A819, A828 to name a few). I'm also hoping to go up to the Black Isle later in the year, to do at least part of the NC500 (again all being well 🤞)
  13. Very sad news to hear. You were the first person to reply on my first ever post on these forums, welcoming me to Lexus ownership. Although I never met you in person, you always seemed to treat all forums members well; whether they be established old hands, or relatively new like myself. RIP John.
  14. Hi Robert, I watched your video and I've just checked my multi-function display, and what I said before seems to be correct, at least for my car. When you're in the list of Settings (Language, Units, EV, etc.), keep on pressing the down button and you should reach 'Tachometer Settings'. If you press Enter on this, you should then be given the 3 options to change your display. I would ignore the Switch Settings option for now as this is something different and doesn't affect the hybrid system/tachometer display.
  15. I'll double check mine tomorrow and see what the settings are, just to be sure. My car is a 2019 model but pre-facelift, so I imagine the settings should be similar to yours.
  16. I'm doing this partly from memory, so this may be incorrect: Press the left/right arrrows buttons on the right-hand side of the steering wheel until you get to an icon that looks like a cog. Once you get to this icon, use the up/down arrow buttons until you get to 'Meter Settings'. Press the Enter button (the one with the dot in the middle). Using the up/down buttons again, you should see an item named 'Tachometer setting'. Press the Enter button again and you should have a choice of: Change according to driving mode (this will show the hybrid system in Eco and Normal, tacho in Sport) Always tachometer Always Hybrid System
  17. The RPM tachometer should show up in 'Sport' mode by default. If the gauge doesn't show, it can be configured in the 'Meter settings' of the multi-function display via the steering wheel button controls.
  18. I've used Aviva to cover a car temporarily in the past (not an LS400 though). The eligibility criteria below would suggest you would be covered - including the maximum engine cc, just about! 😉 https://www.aviva.co.uk/insurance/motor/short-term-car-insurance/
  19. Although my RX was only 12 months old at the time, Lexus Stockport inquired if I would like the 2-4-1 warranty extension last September. I did wonder at the time if the price was going to go up, or whether the scheme might be dropped at the end of 2020, but after some thought decided to go for it (which I'm glad I did now). This should cover me from the car's 3rd birthday in 2022 until 2024.
  20. Hi John, I had this exact same problem on my RX, and I'm trying to remember how I resolved it. I could be wrong, but I think the Travel Time/Arrival Time only appear once you start driving on your chosen route, not before you set off. I'll try and check my navigation tomorrow and see if I can spot anything else.
  21. So true. I always remember when James May referred to the Scorpio as "gopping" on a Top Gear episode that featured it 😆 Had me in stitches at the time.
