  2. Oh My God ……… please please please wake up every day and think “ I’m awake and it’s a brilliant day and I’m going to make the very best of this glorious day “ Coz one day you won’t be able to …….. when you’ve almost been “ dead, dying every waking day “ with some cancer whatever ……. and you think you know it’s really your last day ……. and then, seemingly miraculously, each day seems to improve ……. Then you’ll realise each and every day is to be relished and blessed Malc
  3. 2019 F-Sport on 40k miles, it's just started to blow a bit coldish, as opposed to freezing. It's been regassed, and it's still the same, going back in on the 13th
  4. I don’t know how these Agreed Valuations work BUT you say you had a valuation ( up ) to £19k …… surely this holds some sway ? A written professional valuation ? How do these insurers deal with this process I wonder 🤔 Hopefully one never has to find out eh ! Malc
  5. Yuasa is the best option for the SC430’s….have fitted only fitted Yuasa to all my cars in recent years 👍🏻
  6. Very nice. Glad it worked out for you.

  8. Today I swapped the 2006 HV battery into the 2009 GS450h. Good news is there was no weird firmware rejection issue. However, a few miles down the road on the way to the MOT the dreaded engine light came on. After a small moment of quiet contemplation I hooked up my laptop and Techstream. With the car running my V17 Battery Block had been recorded as "Minimum Batt Block No" with "Batt Block Minimum Vol" around 15 Volts, when all the other Blocks are very close to 16.70 Volts. But the V17 Block was reading fine. I kept looking, and then suddenly the V17 voltage dropped to 15.50 Volts, then about 30 seconds later returned up to 17.2V being the highest in the pack. Anyone seen this odd behaviour? PS. here is my working theory. 1) Assume all the Blocks are OK. 2) assume V17 wiring loom is dodgy. If the loom connection is faulty, and the BMS has some kind of balancing resistors it can switch in, then a high voltage in V17 would trigger the balancing resistor to be engaged, but this drops the observed voltage as the loom is a bit dodgy. This would explain the sudden change between the two voltages seen.
  9. clearly wishing it could have been repaired with brand new bits BUT sense prevailed and he convinced the insurers to agree 2ndhand parts, for speed as much as anything else ......... and rather than using any insce provided interim car he's happily used his daughter's car as she's away at Uni and it's good to have the other car to use ( and being used daily ) and not to be another drain on the insurance costs all round Malc
  10. J73PBX ........... just turned 100k miles today and she runs as sweet as ............. 😍 Malc
  11. That's disappointing to hear. I've arranged my previous Extended Warranties and the the 10 Year Plus Extended Warranties through Lexus Reading (Jemca - they have a number of dealerships in the south-east) and they have alway been on the ball - even contacting me the last time to see if I wanted to renew. Maybe worth a call to them (assuming you haven't already)? Maybe others who have this will chime in if they have arranged it through dealers closer to you.
  12. Do please keep us updated with your sale progress Malc
  13. Anybody got a tow bar and fittings for sale for my IS250 2007? Im in the UK .
  14. Dings and dents are part and parcel of everyday motoring and those who deign to keep their cars in aspic are wondrous owners ……… if ever I were to find a LS400 in perfect bodywork nick it’d scare me rigid to own it …… let alone use it ! Wondrous cars are great at car shows but even then unless one’s fanatical, there’ll be some blemishes I’m sure …….. I’d go mad trying to keep on top of all that prim’ness 😄 But I do admire those that do for sure 👍 Malc
  15. Have a look at the Rewire security DB2 Robb..For the money its an additional bit of security as the lexus app does not properly track your car....Cheers !!!
  16. There's not many dogs that would mess with this bad 'un True story - in a cafe in France a customer had a hunting dog under his table and the owners cat came in. The cat sat next to the dog and lifted its right paw. extended his big claws as if to say " Come near me and you will get this". The dog went round the other side of the table. It was so funny to see.
  17. I get 40-42 on a run from Chesterfield to Hampshire/Surrey regularly. 95% motorway. Speed between 55 and 75. 2009 RX450h 155k regularly serviced. I think Tesco 99 or Shell V-Power helps. 38.5 would be my worst on this journey. 42.5 best. That’s average of 42.5 on the 400 mile return journey. You have to totally minimise acceleration and use of brakes. Obviously this is not always possible. If you plan the braking that is required effectively that will help maximise regenerative braking; keeping the needle inside the blue zone but not letting it drop to the bottom or any braking past that will not be regenerative. The more you can coast when meeting slower traffic the better. I don’t use the ‘eco’ setting at all or A/C. I think it’s less generally if wet/dark etc.
  18. Ah, I see - the light configuration suggests that there's a light for each seat but there are in fact separate lights for green and red. A single light that changes from red to green would have made more sense but hey ho. Thanks for the clarification.
  19. I would have a look at who underwrites both and compare

  21. I can’t help with the info but when my 12v battery went flat I called Lexus and the AA guy plugged his diagnostic in the OBD port and he said he couldn’t access the necessary codes as Lexus had shut them so only registered dealers could access them. Good luck sorting it.
  22. Good grief. Really not a great idea to leave the car with Lexus open ended. Always get a call before they eviscerate a vehicle. Often a very intense dry out and diagnostic error clear or aux battery isolation. Get them to put it back together.
  23. Thanks gji25, I shouldve mentioned theyre 19inch wheels. Ive had them at 40Psi for a few weeks now and happy with the ride so will stick to that for now. Thank you for taking the time to post and reply. In case it helps anyone else in future, I think I've figured out the grinding issue, Im pretty sure it was the dust guards on the brake discs, I pushed them back slightly with my hand where they felt too close to the discs and since then no grinding noise. I hope you are all well. 🙂
  24. Totally different exhaust compared to the is250. I'd sell you an OEM Catback exhaust if you want.
