Another proof that our politicians are in the pockets of influencers from electric car companies.

Here you can see how much little particles pollution there is:

Long before Corona I used the app to see when sand from Sahara was bad for health here and used mask to filter the air when riding on mountain-bike.

I find myself getting increasingly concerned not by the climate verbiage or energy or Ukraine or even the price of fish. But by seemingly august and learned people wittering on and using terms like, unequal or fair or redistribution. You don't need to go back 2/3 hundred years how about 2/3 decades to see how billions have been lifted out poverty not by Socialism but essentially capitalism. So let's put away the hair shirt and instead continue to look for ways to lift people up by innovation and progress and not by some entropic nirvana. (end of Monday morning rant) 😎

Socialism is not the answer and neither is capitalism.

The rich will always want to be richer and the poor have few ways to get out of poverty.

Even your new PM had to recall the idea of reducing tax for the rich out of fear that she would lose next election.

There are plenty of proofs that intelligence is not needed to become rulers.

Wonder if the poor that cannot pay rent or heat the place they live in or get nutritious food agree with you.

In my earlier post the point I was making was that progress and innovation has resulted in subtantial improvements for the poorer members of society. In referring to poverty, what I didn't say was the capitalism is the cause, or socialism the cure. Both have their benefits and disadvantages, which can be used for good or bad.

That said, if you have resource rich countries, such as in Africa, coupled with substantial poverty, then it's hard not to conclude that politics, corruption and exploitation don't play a part, regardless of what political flag it operates under.

Don’t think you quite get the agenda for 2030 - Governments will have more control over the average person than ever before and a social credit system will be in place like what is going on in China and the average person will own nothing – EVs facilitate this because they are digital devices, like I said way back – its very easy to control them over old analog cars – the wheels are driven by digital motors which is why they cant be towed as you will wreck the car itself - think of someone logging onto your laptop now do diagnose it, thats the EV for you.

I don't know where you get the notion that the WEF wants the average person to own nothing. I'm aware of the quote you're basing it on, but am also aware of its context, which you've ignored; which is that it was a comment based on people shifting towards subscription/hire/rental models, instead of outright purchase. As such, it was a prediction, based on current trends, and not than a goal.

Their actual goals, which are openly published, and I've posted before, are: “By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance.”

Thats seems to be in direct contradiction to what you're claiming, so please point me to the WEF web page that supports your claims.

As for your other claims, electric cars are no more digital than your kettle or cordless drill. What makes something digital, in the sense you're claiming, is the inclusion of computer wizardry, that enables them to collect, collate and transmit information, as well as offer remote monitoring and control. This can just as easily be applied to a bicycle or an ICE vehicle, as it can an EV. In fact, probably one of the more sophisticated uses of remote monitoring and control is the Predator drone, and that is powered by a 4 cyclinder, 4 stroke engine, running on 95 octane aircraft fuel, and lubricated by regular engine oil. Think of something logging on to your car, and getting it to fire missiles at a group of people, that's the ICE vehicle for you.

So, if you have legitimate issues about EVs, such as limited range, or lack of charging facilities, then fair enough. But scare stories, based on misrepresenting the scientific and real world practicalities, aren't amongst them.

Current Fiesta is just shy of 1.1Tons (1084kg) to 1.2Tons depending on version. Out of curiosity which EV is yours from the ones that are 1.2 Ton (Up, citigo, smart...etc)? The new 500e, which I like, is a bit heavier at 1255kg, and then things spiral pretty quickly upwards from there. I'm of course ignoring the twizzy and ami. Am I missing one, and how do you like it? Always good to hear from someone living with one.

Comparing like for like, 2020 Fiesta ST weighs 1217kgs all up……our i3 is 1193kg

We like it, we will not be going back to an ICE anytime soon, we have had the i3 from new in 2016 and it has been rock solid reliable (unfortunately as we pay for an extended warranty each year 🤣) and we have no intention of changing to a different EV at the moment either, it fulfills our needs perfectly.

It’s nowhere near where it could be ....... whichever way one would wish it to be ........ simply the dumbos in Office have trashed their own credibility and that of the Market’s perception of what’s in store for Sterling these upcoming months

I’m dealing with the currency issues every day in my travel agent business and believe me the general public won’t forgive what’s happening from Trussie Kwasi affecting with their holiday and travel plans and personal budgeting

there’s chaos out there right now affecting ordinary but well-off people trying to plan their lives ...... dumbos are a protected species but please not these two 😨

Is that with or without the range extender? Been a passenger in one without, bit hard suspended for my taste.

Ever since covid 19 the world has been ***** - and there are far too many global events happening for it to be a coincidence either but you are fully aboard the EV, # net zero bandwagon as much as you fail to see problems with requiring boosters after being fully vaxed, requiring face masks after being fully vaxxed and needing testing after being fully vaxxed, not to mention needing hospital treatment after being fully vaxxed.  Folks like you will never admit to be anything but politically correct in listening to everything you are told

EVs are digital, certainly more so than traditional cars and it will only get worse with the level of integration we are seeing - you are not an Electronic Engineer and you don’t have a degree or a masters in the subject so its futile trying to explain anything - your knowledge of lithium batteries is zero apart from what google (or experts) tells you - I have industry wide experience including commercial compliance of products.

And anything I said about EVs are not 'scare' stories, you think that batteries grow on trees, don’t you? you ignore articles where a Skoda loses 120 miles range hauling a caravan in 35 minutes and you think it makes financial sense to plunder £60k on a EV because you cannot afford a tank of petrol.

If you drive quick like I do an i3 is pointless - the range on petrol fuel is useless, the Battery will also rapidly decline at speed so in such a situation you will be always charging it up. I do a lot of long distance runs and the BMW would be pointless in such cases - in an urban environment I could see it working but nothing more than that and I would rather get some solid petrol car that has a far longer range, even my thirsty Subaru gets over 400 miles on a run and almost 300 in mixed driving

But malcolm old bean what chaos? I am currently sitting on a Greek island in beautiful surroundings and temperatures we would kill for at this time of year at home, sitting amongst other Brits who simply don't share your sighting of the 4 men of the apocalypse. 😎

I might be missing something, but I’m pretty sure I get a flu booster every year in order to keep protection high. Tetanus and Yellow Fever are also examples where immunity wanes and top up is required - and I’ve also received boosters for both.

Hardly anybody wears face masks any more - whether we should is a different matter. Yes, small numbers of people are still being treated in hospital with COVID, as I understand it from the reporting largely those with serious underlying health conditions. Much like flu in fact…

Perhaps flu is actually the REAL global conspiracy illness? That’s had a pretty good run…centuries of infection, epidemic and death, leading to a regular vaccine programme in recent decades which has reduced impacts. Terrible, huh?

Yet another example of white privileged greed, not content with the garden County you want G*d's country as well😂. But whilst there try the Old Vicarage and their simple cuisine of roasted saddle of hare wrapped in proscuitto and oregano leeks, roast breast of wild mallard on spiced red cabbage, and herbed polenta cake and toasted mascapone. By the way my door to door journey time was six hours about the same time as it takes you to get to Birmingham 🧑‍🍳🍻😎
