ouch.. sorry to hear that dave! :crybaby:

my saddest moment and prolly lowest was last september and my sons mother died leaving my son with no mum... and hearing how upset he gets.

Plus also a very dear friend to me.. I spent 5 years with her.

Makes you wonder what everyone fusses about sometimes.

nan, grandad, stepfather and 2 uncles and i'm only 25!

they never go away dave, always in our thoughts!

damn man, thats hard. Just thinking about loosing me pa worries me!!!

Mine is possibly loosing my gran (at 92 - good innings!) or being chucked by my ex a long time ago, knowing full well she still loved me.

Long story but issues to do with cast etc (indian origin family!!!) boo hoo.

Its one reason why I didnt loose the plot when the idiaot hit the car last month !!!

Loosing someone close to you is such a bummer particulary when its unexpected, puts everything into perspective.

In my dads case he'd done well in his career (Army) and didnt suffer ill health at all which is a bonus.....

I always try to leave home on a good note just incase

My mum dying when i was 17, found out just after i passed my driving test, she never found out that i passed.

Then because my parents were divorced, i had to constantly move about between my brothers houses and my sisters, until i bought my own place, when i was 21.

this thread is *******...... its near christmas.... lets keep things on a happy note!!

Damm, I was going to say trading my Lexus in but maybe I should keep quiet if thats I've had to deal with  :crying:

i was gonna say when my dog died last year, hhmmm

If you've been lucky enough for that to be the only loss then thats OK.

The point of the post was to put everything into perspective

I went to a local Hospice to "light a life" for the long ago loss my wife & my parents. A couple of days ago we received Christmas cards from our Mums and Dads absolutely amazing, brought back so many happy memories.

Sorry to be so profound but sincerely believe something I heard a while back always remembered

"to live in the hearts of those who have loved you

is not to die"

I must have been on the Turbo Shandy's.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL !!!!

Cigarettes murdered my Dad recently. Never got the chance to say "thankyou" for everything he did for me. Never got the chance to say "look what I've done" - he would have been proud.

Got a tear in my eye now just articulating the thoughts

Fags had a hand in my fathers early exit...........blocked arteries...

I share your thoughts on the look what i've done.........

He'd have been well chuffed with the Lexus.......

He was a bit of a car fanatic..........He bought a new Hilman Avenger GT in 1971 spent all the savings........posted to Germany and went rallying in it.........car cost £700 odd and his wages were £8/10 a week :whistling:

Mine has to be my son who at the age of 5 weeks technically died but my wife revived him. He then lived in Guys hospital til he was 5 months old, all the time under ventilation and drips. Makes you feel so utterly helpless.

By the time he was 2 he was fully discharged as an outpatient and he is a real bruiser. Last Monday he was 5 years old but you never forget -

He is now thankfully. Plays mini Rugby every Sunday and is not afraid of proper tackling either. Although he's not supposed to as it's just tag rugby at his age

Mine was suddenly loosing my dad last year, parents divroced when i was 2, so i used to see him every other w/e, and as i got older and had my own life, not as often as i liked.

He had a rough time in the build of too his death,, his wife of 10 years had an affair, took to the demon drink, he also smoked, and as a proud man didnt ask for help from anyone. he was 55..

And being the only child, i had to organise the funeral, a non religious affair (both atheist) and pick the song etc etc... was tough but id like to think he would have been proud of me for toughing it out.. now im welling up :(
