So a few of you may remember me asking questions a few weeks back about mk4 400's. I'm now pleased to say I've officially joined the club ^.^ Over the past few days I've been in a position to buy one and had planned to do a 3 hour trip to visit one to hopefully bring home. Whilst checking the route with the father he noticed that another one had just been listed (turns out it had been listed late the previous evening) it was on the way and we decided to give them a ring on the way down. Once we were there the current owner explained that his brother in law had brought it new back in late 97 and took delivery jan 98. He bought it off his brother in law a few years later and has had it since. Was selling due to getting a new car and no longer using it as much. Stacks of paperwork, two new keys made at Lexus for over 400, timing belt done june 2016 also. Bonnet struts replaced all sorts of good upkeep history I have attached a few pictures for you guys to look at. It needs some tlc round the edges but overall is a solid car. Glad to officially have joined :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk6 points

I think it shows the thrift of many poor members on here who dispite the dire financial positions they seem to be able to run and maintain V8 motors. Its their undying faith in man maths that gives them this remarkable ability to make the most of so little dosh, well done you all........π€§2 points

Yeah I'm aware I've got incredibly lucky and know it is worth quite a fair amount more, couldn't be happier with it to be fair. I did want black interior but the condition of this one is fantastic. He recently had 2 new keys made up at Lexus for around Β£410, cambelt was done may 2016 by Lexus aswell at a fair cost too. I feel I may be rubbing some salt in at the moment but I'm too happy to care;p. Might I add it was still a 2 and half hour journey setting off at 6 30! Luckily for you guys I picked it up!!! I can confirm it's a real real bargain, 2 owners, brothers in law from new, current owner had since 2000. I'll be making a thread on it myself soon Just to notify the things on the rear numberplate are some extra lights for some bizarre reason put on by the original owner (who has unfortunately now passed) so no definitive answer given. I was following @Mark G around certain roads in North Wales and certainly at higher revs in gear times for the Gsf the car was quicker, both of us are believed by some to know one or two things about driving so I think are opinions can ce accepted as valid lower down the range and actual handling my belief is there was very little in it. The weather at times was appalling but to the credit of these cars making safe progress was uneventful apart from brief instances some of us had with aqua planning which for those of us who can remember pre decimalisation thatβs a bottom that alternates between sixpence and halfcrown π π2 points

Funny you should say that @mike m as I was out at weekend with a couple of mates one has an IS-F and we tried a couple 0f 50-80 mph roll ons..........and he pulled away from me both times!!!! now I don't know if I had selected the wrong gear or my reactions were too slow, I just don't know but that's what happened. The GS-F actually feels faster at the top end of the rev range say from 5000 rpm onwards although I am not convinced that is the case. One area it does seem a lot better is handling, because you have more scope to alter the settings on the car with Sport and Sport+ and the different TV-D settings then its no surprise really, its just progress.2 points

Hi, I liked the pictures of the white/blue/orange interior in the lexus lc 500 but noticed that you couldn't get this in the UK. When I saw a red one displayed at the great Yorkshire show I asked why this was the case. Without a definite answer I was called three weeks later that this interior would come in a special edition "structural blue". I testdrove a white LC 500 and put a payment down on the structural blue one. Only ten seem to be shipped to the UK. 5 hybrids and 5 V8's. I'm expecting delivery of my V8 at December 19. It may all be a bit stupid as I've never seent the car in this colour. Moreover when I ordered it I didn't have a clue about the exact specifications. But hey. I trust I'm gonna enjoy it. Ben2 points

Hello and welcome. I have also just ordered a LC500 V8 but in Sonic Red with black inside. Taste is a personal thing but I had just the opposite reaction to you regarding the white/orange interior on the special edition. There has been a bit of discussion on here already about the slightly strange interior colours offered on the LC. (See the LC500 forum). For my taste, they should have offered a light grey interior with the blue exterior. Actually, they didn't need a special blue colour at all. The previous Ultrasonic Blue would have done quite well enough but instead they listed a darker blue as standard. Oh well...2 points

Well, after 4 years without a Lexus we're back in the club with an RX350 if all goes to plan. I've put a deposit down on this badboy http://sheffield.usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/RX-350/35-Limited-Edition-r1bkgtj I couldn't see past 10 Lexus main dealer service stamps and main dealer warranty. I've not seen it in the flesh though. We chopped the IS200 in for an SLK280 in 2013, that turned out to be a (leaking) lemon and went the same way as my IS200 with electrical gremlins caused by water ingress. Merc took it back and we got a C200 CDI (guess who's got 2 kids now) which we've still got. We had a new Touareg R-line 262bhp for a couple of years on a lease which was replaced with a new Infiniti Q30S in June. The Q30S spent almost as much time in the garage for repairs as it did on the road and was finally bought back by the dealer for a full refund. We very nearly bought a Mini Countryman Cooper S Chilli on a lease but, after contemplating the bangernomics model and looking at X5's, Range Rovers I came across a 2007 RX350 from a local dealer for Β£5k. It had no history and the guy sounded rough as hell on the phone.A quick check on the Lexus used car website brought up the RX350 at Sheffield with a full Lexus service history and main dealer warranty. It was nearly 50% more expensive but the history and warranty was worth the premium in my opinion. It's for the Mrs and will only do around 5000 miles a year. She likes the height of a 4x4, she wanted auto and heated seats, I wanted memory seats because she's 5'5 and i'm 5'11, I have gorilla arms and she's stumpy. She doesn't like less than 6 cylinders (4 is OK if it's turbo'd) and she likes at least 200bhp. I can't think of any other car that would come close to what we're getting with the RX. I've got a set of Kia winter wheels with winter rubber which were bought for the Infiniti but will fit the RX so it'll be a monster in the snow (we're at the bottom of a hill in Scotland a bit off the beaten track). Will need spigot rings though as centre bore is 7mm bigger on Kia rims. Does anyone want to swap a cream interior for a black one? How easy is it to fit rear screens to this for the kids?1 point

So the milestone is celebrated with a limited edition Gsf........ looks nice a replacement is-F would have been nicer π https://lexusenthusiast.com/2017/10/24/lexus-japan-releases-special-edition-rc-f-gs-f-in-matte-gray/ Big Rat1 point

@mike mI agree anything made of this quality is most likely going to be a reasonable fit, as it's a cat back system retains the central box as well. π1 point

I'd suggest that you keep the warranty topped up after 3 years, Lexus Chester had the Top Gear IS-F in a few years back and were replacing a "whole lot of bits" under warranty for the new owner1 point

That involves the wife being remotely interested in the car so that's a non starter!! I can use Photoshop so will give it a bash1 point

I loved my TT 6 sp in red. Biggest mistake I ever made was trading it a number of years ago for 5500. Back to the the topic though and the blue bit on the steering wheel, how come there are some with red bits?1 point

Maybe put light further away, so that it lights up when somebody just tuns into your drive rather than when they come close to the cars. First of all the light would spook them earlier, secondly the further is the light the less negative impact on video quality due to overexposure.1 point

Right I know is been a while and just thought I'd give you all an update, the banging through the steering wheel and steering going heavy is due to when I accelerate in first gear and maybe second (not often) is the header is so close to the rack and pinion it is actually hitting, as it has wore away the heat wrap. Hopefully getting it to my mates garage to see if he can heat it up with a torch and gently pursued the header in a bit instead of cutting and welding a notch out of it as I don't want to go down that route. So to anyone thinking of getting headers just do a test fit on drivers side to see how close it is might need to modify it a little. But apart from that they are the nuts and gives the car a tottally different feel performance wise and an even better sound, I'll try and get some videos up soon as I'm doing a dyno day in mid November. Thanks for all the help and advice also1 point

They did Wash&Vac mine, thought it might be coincidence as I have done Major service with them at the same time. No extra fuel - I guess that was only for fuel seal recall. Coffee and cookies were delicious inside the showroom!1 point

I don't like cream interiors anyway but with two kids it's madness - go for that swap to black. Having said that, if it's only going to do about 5k/year it may not have time to get dirty - unless that 5k/year is doing the school run of course0 points
