  2. But the feeling tonight of heated soft leather seats was bliss on the way home from work at 1am. Air con still works at 3 degrees (take note Skoda!) with a temperature of 23 in the car. Felt great. One annoyance is that when you let the front windows down and back up again the windows don't clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. As a note of caution, do not scrape frost off privacy glass with an ice scraper. I am still annoyed at being charged £500 at trade in time for scratches on the privacy glass by the money grabbing Lexus dealer I traded it in at. I use warm water to melt the ice then a sponge to wipe it off.

  4. You've been a busy boy! Does that mean yours had air suspension and you've replaced it with springs, or am I just misunderstanding what you're saying? I bet you can't wait for next Spring. Will you sneak in occasionally and talk to it, maybe make it some cocoa!!🍵

  5. No change to the insurance Roy, they just called it an accepted modification as I told them it was a Toyota mod. This is true in a loose way as the chip is designed and produced be someone at Lindop Toyota in Swindon. You are correct rayaans, it's fitted to a Rav 2.2 TD Invincible. So no point in chipping a GS really. Thought as much. Bod

  6. It's just the way the outside of the glass isn't cleared when it's wet by lowering the windows, some cars it seems are just made that way.

  8. .......... also the same phenomenon with my Ls400 ... big V8 petrol, whisper quiet and creeps up too.......... the number of surprised pedestrians suddenly realising there's a monster stalking them and they don't hear or feel the presence .................... smiles all round Malc

  9. If you get a Lexus approved warranty you do need to service it at a Lexus dealer (either a full dealership or one which has a service only franchise).

  10. Always love the reaction of people who haven't been paying attention and suddenly realise you have been creeping up on them in electric mode.

  11. I've had to put up with numb fingers on the way to work. My last estate car was a Vectra, and just as I arrived at the door of my workshop (5 miles from home) the first hint of something vaugly warm came through. I do find the perforated leather seats take slightly longer to heat up than electric elements. My Volvo has perforated seats as well and I'm sure the older electric ones heated faster, although on a positive note the Volvo ones could freeze your hind quaters in the summer!

  13. The light clusters have drain channels behind them. These can get blocked with leaves etc. Remove two screws & pull light away from body. clean debris & refit. Easier than taking your car back for a refund. When I did mine the water went from slowly draining to instantly vanishing. It is overspill probably caused by blocked drains causing water to backup. 15. Had a similar problem on my previous Volvo S60. Research on the owners forum led to the sensor attached to the upper arm of the foot brake which had come out of its housing. Clipped back in and hey presto, no further issues. May not be the cause but for the sake of 10 seconds on your knees with a torch, probably worth trying ! Hope you get it sorted. Ian.

  16. Interesting that you mention the non-clearing windows. Mine are also like that on both the RX and IS. I think its to reduce the amount of scratches on the glass. On the other hand, BMW 1 series have really tight seals, they clear the windows with one up/down motion but end up having loads of fine vertical scratches after a while. However, the front side windows have rain repellent glass so the water usually disappears after a short drive

  17. mine does the same and its as designed. I have had new headlights fitted under warranty due to condensation issues and its the same on these too.

  18. I guess it can come down to the age of your car. If it's new it may be worth keeping it serviced by Lexus so you can keep the resale value.. if it's older is less of an issue. I choose to keep my 10 year old RX400 service at Lexus because they do a good job and don't mess me about. Peace of mind sometimes it's worth it. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

  19. Still, there is some good news. The president also has an LS430 and survives when the car is wrecked, so if you have a big Lexus and are chased over a ravine by very bad men you may well survive!
