  1. You could always see how hard it is to throw a stapler through an LCD display. Or, sneak up on your manager and see what he/she is doing.
  2. You could always have a go at the "Office Chair Bob Sled". It normally ends in tears and slight blood shed, but time soon passes in A&E and think what you could write in the accident book. Jim.
  3. What I love about my iPod when it's on shuffle is I can have such classics by the prodigy such as Breathe one minute, and then somthing from Burt Bacharach the next. Somthing's not right there.
  4. Don't be a driving instructor. It's not as good as it sounds. Take it from someone who's been doing it over five years now.
  5. I would have loved the Mini as a driving school car for that very reason. As an instructor it would have been perfect to have the speedo in the middle but I couldn't justify the outrageous price they are. By the time I specced one up with aircon and electric mirrors it was almost double the price of a Nissan Micra with the same kit and I can't help but think that the Micra will cope with the abuse better than the Mini.
  6. Very nice car you got there. Same colour as my LS. I used to have a GS300 and liked it alot. I'm going to be doing the once over of my LS in the next couple of weekends. Breaking out the G220 and borrowing someone's driveway for a day.
  7. I'd have payed alot of money to see that.
  8. I think I have seen the black one being driven along Southern Way in Harlow. Sounded quite nice. My pupil thought so too as we were in my Nissan Micra. I was asked if the Micra sounded the same if they used lots of throttle.
  9. I've used Castrol Edge 0W-30 for the past three oil changes on my LS430 and I'm very impressed. You notice it most when you start it from cold. With the oil that Lexus use, when started it would rev to about 1,400 rpm then settle down to 1,000 rpm. With Castrol Edge it now revs to 2,000 rpm when started. My mpg has also been slightly better by 2-3 mpg as well. Looking down the oil filler tube, it has also cleaned up the inside of the engine as well. When I first looked down it when I first bought it, the inside was slightly brown. I looked down it after a year of using Castrol Edge and it now looks almost silver and new. I can't recomend it enough. I'm going to start using it in my Nissan Micra driving school car. It's probably overkill but I do change the oil in the Lexus every six months. It doesn't do 10,000 miles per year though but it makes me feel better. Jim.
  10. Some of those wheels looked amazing. Shame there were nop LS430's or LS460's though.
  11. Could I have "RUNNING IN, PLEASE PASS" right in the middle of my back?
  12. Dude, that looks horrific. It could be me, but buying a tatto kit from ebay and expecting nothing bad happening, well I just don't know what to say.
  13. The calipers on my LS430 look much bigger than those that were on my GS300. They are located in a different place on the disc though. On the GS they were towards the back of the wheel but on the LS they are more towards the front.
  14. You may have already tried this but it might be worth cleaning behind the handle. It feels like there is a metal strip and if this has become contaminated by road dirt etc, it might not recognise that there is a hand there. It might also be worth having the batteries in your smart key replaced if you have not already done so. Jim.
  15. I'm suprised I've not been takes out the back and shot for saying an IS220d yet.
  16. I'd have an IS220D SE-L in Astral Black. Jim.
  17. I once saw on Youtube a video of an LS430, newer type (toyota Celsior) with the six speed autobox and it looked like they had fitted the flappy paddles from an IS250 to it. I'm not sure how good it would have been as the steering wheel in an LS430 is huge. It did look quite good though so that might be a posobility. Jim.
  18. That is an awsome car you got there. That is everything I wanted my old GS300 to be. Why on earth Lexus never sold that car in the UK is beyond me. Very impressed. Jim.
  19. I tried V-Power in my old GS300 and it made quite a difference in performance. The engine note sounded slightly more angry when reved but it did make a difference. I have put a good three thankfull's of it in my LS430 and it makes no difference what so ever in terms of performance and fuel economy. I have been running it on BP Ultimate 97RON for the past year. Again, no increase in performance or fuel economy but it does do the Nectar points a world of good. I also ran my old Nissan Micra driving school car for a year on BP Ultimate and again, there were no performance or MPG increases. I now run my new Micra on 95RON from Sainsbury's. I have put some V-Power in the Micra and as you can imagine, it made sod all difference. Being a 1.2 and an automatic are the main things against it I suppose. Jim.
  20. My little green light went to black after I left the car for two weeks and forgot to turn off the smart locking. It has been used for a few long journeys and gets used every day for an hour and it won't go back to green. It is a genuine Toyota battery but it still starts no problem. Now I have given myself the kiss of death, I shall have the RAC on speed dial. Jim.
  21. I personally think that Primeminister Gordon Brown is a one eyed Scottish idiot. I stand by that remark and make no appologies for it either. I'm not very fond of David Cameron either. As for the Lib Dems, I couldn't care less. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE PUT SOMEONE UP WORTH VOTING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired of all this PC nonsense that is currently at the forefront of every polotician's mind. They need to grow a pair and get on with making this country better.
  22. Mine has just come up to 69,000 miles. I think I will get it done just before the warrenty runs out which is in a year and a half's time. I am mostly gentle with mine, (buying four tyres makes you like this) appart from using the grunt on motorway slip roads (which is fun). It's good to hear that the belts they use seem to be of good quality. Why don't they use cam chains though? The Micra has one of those and there is no specified time for it to be changed so I'm assuming it wil last the lifetime of the engine. I know it requires frequent oil changes but I get mine done every 6,000 miles rather than the 12,000 that Nissan recomend. I also get the oil changed in the LS every 6 months. I probably don't have to but it makes me feel better. Jim.
  23. I havn't had this problem with mine. Like I said in a previous thread, it could be somthing to do with weighing the best part of two tonnes or the Michelin Piolot Sport tyres.
