  1. I find men dancing with funny faces and women dressed up like a trout in a disco ball highly offensive but do you hear me complaining about strictly come dancing, NO!!!!!. I'm clever enough to turn the channel over and not watch it. It's the reason we live in a democratic society. WE HAVE CHOICE. I'm fed up with this PC society. In everyday life we always end up upsetting someone but we all have to take it on the chin and get on with it. Simple as that. I refuse to live my life in a ball of cotton wool and I don't expect enyone to do the same. If I find the people who have complained I'll, well, umm, well I can't type it on here but I'm sure you clever people can put two and two together. People just need to grow a pair and see it as pure entertainment. COME BACK ROSS AND BRAND!!!!!!!! Thankyou all and have a good evening. Jim.
  2. I'm a part time pole and lap dancer. and Russian gymnast. I also teach people to drive when I'm not prising myself off a pole or lap. My hobbies are complaining about the Driving Standards Agency and drinking Gin. On my top ten list of things to do before I die is to lunge at the Pope. My starsign is capricorn, my unlucky stone is Ronnie Wood, and my unlucky number is anything sung by Des O'Connor. Favourite football team is Acrington Stanley. I'll stop now. Jim.
  3. I think Sporty Spice has an RX400h. I'm now going to shoot myself in the foot for knowing this.
  4. Sometimes when I turn off the outside temperature display, when I next start the car, it comes up with the Lexus logo. Don't know why though, it might be incase you forget what you are driving.
  5. I've got a 2004 model. The air suspension is as booring as follows:- 1) You can make it go higher??? (Still havn't figured out why you would want to do this) 2) Make it more uncomfortable by selecting sport. The fridge is sometimes usefull for chilling small bottles of water. The rear electric seats gets used by everyone but me. And since having the SL2Vi iPod adapter, everyone keeps changing my songs which is anoying. The bluetooth comes in handy so long as my Blackberry likes my car that day. The headlights do turn when you turn the steering wheel but I don't find this any more usefull than standard xenon headlights. Appart from that, stick with what you got. You could always shell out £8,000.00 on the Tom's supercharger kit for it. Jim.
  6. LOOK INTO MY EYES LOOK INTO MY EYES DON'T LOOK AROUND THE EYES DON'T LOOK AROUND THE EYES LOOK INTO MY EYES Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! YOUR UNDER
  7. I like the look of that alot. Sorry to crach the thread a bit, but the leather on my LS430 steeringwheel, the bit next to the wood parts, is looking a little tired. Does anyone know how much it might cost to have it retrimmed in the Herts area? Thanks. Jim.
  8. There is a history of glaucoma in my family so I have to keep an eye "sorry for the pun" on my eyesight with an anuall checkup. What really sucks is I'm 32 next January and I'm sat infront of this computer, trying to get over a cold, suffering with asthma. I've only got to walk outside and it feels like I have just run a marathon. And no, I'm not a hypercondriact. Just ill.
  9. The last two times my LS430 went in for a service and MOT I asked for the LS460 for a day and each time I was let down. Good luck.
  10. This is by no means legall, nor do I condone or encourage the behaviour of the people on this website, but have a butchers at www.hornblasters.com I know I'm a bit sick and twisted but you might find it funny. Jim.
  11. I would say walk away. It is a buyers market at the moment in terms of the luxuary car market. Find a better one and haggle hard. They good ones are out there. Jim.
  12. When driving to the standard set in the ROSPA advanced driving course, you are encouraged to use full throttle to obtain maximum acceleration in overtaking situations, not pulling away from traffic lights though. Would have loved to have seen the examiners face if I left a big fat number 11 whilst pulling away. I don't think there is a law as such but Plod might find a reason to do you for driving without due care or somthing along those lines. A good way I found to stop myself using loads of acceleration when pulling away is to spend £800 on Michelin Piolot Sport tyres. The game is to make them last as long as possible. Jim.
  13. Please, for the love of all things holy, don't put these on your car. It is such a cheap addition to a luxuary car. I have seen them on Jags, BMW, Mercs and other older cars. It looks so cheap and awfull.
  14. Mine gets parked in an underground garage. Shared parking though. It gets to sit between a Toyota Yaris and a Lexus IS250. If it is used to go to the office, it then goes into underground parking between a Jaguar XJ6 and a Volkswagen Beetle.
  15. Is there much of a difference between the LS430 with the 5 speed box and the 6 speed box? I like using the grunt on slip roads to see how fast I can get to 70 but I've never maxed it.
  16. I've got a Blackbery 8300. Utterly pointless phone. I don't like anything about it.
  17. A couple of times now I have had to go back to my car and unlock it, then press the button on the door handle twice to make sure it is locked. I can assure you though, when the alarm goes off, it's damn loud. The horn sounds and there is also a siren with flashing lights. I set it off at JAE by accident. I don't think my hearing has come back in my right ear yet.
  18. I just thought I would let you all know about becoming a driving instructor. JUST DON'T!!!!!! Every driving school I know of is starting to be hit, and sometimes quite hard, with the present economic downturn. People just havn't got the money anymore to do it. Neither do alot of people have the inclination to drive either. When one friend passes the test, they can drive three or four other round and share the petrol money. You have probably seen the adverts which run on the discovery channel from a certain driving instructor training organisation about earning £30,000 a year and being able to fit your career around what ever you want to. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most people who can afford to learn to drive will be working full time so your hours will be between six and nine in the morning and five till ten in the evening. You can certainly fit the instructor training around your current job but once qualifying, the hours are very unsociable. Also, you probably will never find the amount of pupils needed to make £30,000 a year. Also, you need to take your running costs out of this figure and of your really frugal, about £15,000 is going to be your anuall take home wage. The course will be around £3,000 to do and you probably have a 20% chance of actually passing the qualifying exams. The driving instructor industry has been saturated by people qualifying and there are not enough people wanting to learn to drive out there. Learning to drive is not a young person's priority any more with more and more people going to university. A vast majority of which will be getting jobs in cities such as London where there is no need for a car. Besides, working alongside the Driving Standards Agency which is run by a lady by the name of Rosemary Thew who has no other driving qualifications other than the basic standard driving licence who is constantly making bad and quite damaging decisions about this industry, I strongly recomend you look elsewhere for a job. People treat you so bad when your taching people to drive. I've had one driving school car compleatly written off by some burk hitting me up the back full pelt on a roundabout, all of my driving school cars have been hit by other motorists hitting me as I will never let my pupils hit anything, you get abused, shouted at, screamed at, spat at, driven at etc. Basically your on the bottom rung of a ladder which you will never climb. Stick with being an electricion or plumber but being a driving instructor is somthing which I now am starting to regret. BIG TIME.
  19. I've used Castrol Edge 0W-30 in my LS430 for the last two oil changes. I get the oil and filter changed every six months. When you start the engine from cold, it does rev higher before it settles down so there must be a reduction in friction. I can't see my engine blowing up any time soon.
  20. PMSL! Quite right! However don't knock it until you've tried it. There's something about driving a big Volvo that makes you feel just a little bit nice and safe. And please no comments about it would never be driven fast enough to have an accident! I'm looking at you Wozza!! There is also somthing about driving an LS430 that makes you feel nice and safe. :P I do like the new S80 alot. The V8 version does sound good but would I chuck the LS in against an S80, never in a million years I'm afraid.
  21. Thanks Anuj. Where I park the car as I live in a first floor flat, the underground secure parking situation I can't get a charger to it over night. It seems to be starting OK at the moment, probably where it is being used a bit more, the battery is regaining it's charge. I have a long journey in the next couple of weeks, about 250 miles round trip so I think it should regain it's charge fully by then. It must be one of those cars that doesn't like being left for a long time. When parking in the long stay carpark at terminal 5 in Heathrow airport, we took my Nissan Micra driving school car. I'm not going to be overly depressed if that gets damaged compared to the LS. That started OK but the battery indicator on it was black as well. It's now gone back to green so I'm hoping all will return back to nromall with the LS's battery. Jim.
  22. I'm no mechanic but try putting the internal heater to it's hottest setting. There might be an airlock around there. I had a problem when flushing out the system on my old Cavalier and putting the heater to full must have allowed the coolant to recirculate round the whole system and thus get rid of the air lock.
  23. It looks like the latest addition from Kinght Industries Two-Thousand. (KIT)
  24. Thanks for your quick advice everyone it's much appreciated. I only renewed the warrenty on the car for another two years with the Lexus warrenty about a month or so ago. Expensive but I think it's worth it. We left the car for about two and a half weeks so I would imagine with the alarm ticking over and the other million electrical things on it, the battery must have taken a bit of a kicking. I shall be taking it for a very long run in the next week or two, approx 250 miles and if the battery indicator doesn't go back to green, I shall be popping down to Lexus Woodford for them to sort it out. The battery is only a year old. It was replaced when I got the car just over a year ago. The longest the car has ever been left is just a week but we went on a longish holiday this time. I'm glad no one has said it's the starter. I know it's under warrenty but I would imagine it's a big job. Thanks again. Jim.
