A very sad moment indeed - really does make you stop and think what that generation went through - they must dispair at the youth of today (type-casting heavily I know ...).

Always used Mobil 1 myself - left 2 cans in the boot - they used what they needed to and left the empty and part used cans in the boot after ('cos I always asked them too - not fool-proof but best way I could think of to ensure it ended up in my engine !!).

Toyota / Lexus belts all operate in the same way - if you pull all (or almost all) the webbing out and the lock mech triggers you have to retract the whole belt to release it (had it in both my IS and previous RAV). The trick is to pull the belt out slowly and not trigger the lock - takes a while to get the knack but easy after that - honest ... Surprise Lexus fitted a new mech instead of just explaining how it works (assuming I have understood the issue correctly ..).

Guess that's dry then I would try a leather cleaner first to see if it would shift it - if not then I wiould very cautiously try turps (damped onto a cloth only) then follow with a leather treatment straight away to ensure the leather did not dry out ... Try looking up Glipton (or Gliptone) on the WWW for any info. - their stuff is very good.

Now now - not his fault his car has a heavy body-kit ...

Easy enough to repair if you know a good ali welder ...

Just been to Rockingham (BMW Driving day - OK sorry for those initials !) - first long trip without my Lexus and it's lovely Sat Nav - never again !! Made me realise big time just how much easier and safer Sat Nav makes travelling - and yes the ability to re-route as brilliant as said above. Just need to choose which way to go - Tom Tom Go or wait till April for the new Garmin unit ...

When I first saw the old (!!) version I had to have one - and did for 3 years - the new one just doesn't appeal to me from the pics though that may change once actually seen and driven ...
