Hi there.

Thought I'd come and join you and say Hi! I've just taken delivery of a new IS200 SE Auto in Granite Sky. Absolutely love it.

Although, I have one thing which may need addressing, which are the headlights. My other car (z4 3.0) has xenons and I want to find something to improve the dip / main performance. I've used PIAA a lot before but do you guys have any experience of using these or have any other recommendations?

Hello Iain, welcome to LOC mate, nice choice of color ;)

For the bulbs, I've just fitted X-White bulbs to mine, Zee did a group buy on them a while ago.. They're similar performance to the PIAA's but I think someone said these were slightly better?

Much whiter and Steve on here said they're the closest thing he's seen to HID's on his.....

If you've got the cash you could always fit a HID kit but that's more involved whereas these bulbs are a straight swap out...

Hi Iain

Welcome to LOC, nice choice of car and colour.

As for your headlights, there have been a couple of group buys on headlight bulbs recently Zee will be able to give you some contact info and prices. There are a few members using PIAA's and they have nothing but good things to say but the price does put people off.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice guys.

I used PIAA bulbs on my Audi and was generally impressed with the results, not so with the lifespan (12/14 months max) and the cost of replacement. I've had a look at Demon Tweeks at PIAA retrofit xenons but they are pricey. I think the main cost is the booster packs - anyone have any idea what the O/E Lexus ones cost?

Hi all!

Another new member here! I took delivery of my used IS 200 Sport (Oct 01) in Platinum Ice, on 9th August, done around 5000 miles and love it!

Only a couple of questions...

Does anyone find they get a whistle from the upper rear corner of the drivers window at speeds over 90 mph (private roads of course!)??

Does anyone else find that the trim on the forward end of the sunroof is quite noisy when driving on bumpy roads??

Cheers guys!

Steve

The OE Lexus ones will cost a lot more.

You can try www.autolamps-online.com this is where i brought my HID kit. Very easy to fit and had them delivered within 5 working days, no import duty etc... They use the original Phillips ballast too.. and the bulbs and harness where straight forward plug and play jobbies..

The kit i got is the 4000k range but the 6000k range offer a slightly more blue effect like the BMW's. I am more then happy with mine, and to go with them, i went for the X-white main beam bulbs, and they are very close to the HID's in terms of WHITE, but not as bright. They beat the Phillips blue vision bulbs!!! Any time, hands down.

I got my HID kit for £344 INC.. when I broght them wayz back, I think the 6000k kit is only £25 more..

Good luck in your choice... Welcome to L.O.C and have a Great christmas.

NICE COLOUR of CAR !! :)

Steve - reply

You an get sunroof trim fixed under warranty - did mine

And the door noise is the rubber seal again warranty job or just lub it and that seems to work for a while.

Hope this helps
