Sorry People...but I Got Another Question

Recommended Posts

the more i fidjit around in my is, i will always come across

something which i will not find in the manual

so to find out what it is(not that i'm going to do anything with it)

i'm gonna put a post up here

its nice to know theres always someone out sharing sharing info :duh:

well getting to the point

when seated in the driver seat,

opposite your left knee,

below the headlight dimmer dial,

there is a blank hole about the size of a rear fog light switch

to the right of this hole there is like a grill/air vent type, about

1"x 1".

behind this grill/air vent, there is a sensor.

its pointing towards the seat.

any idea what it is

cabin temp sensor for when you have the climate control in auto mode - if yours doesnt seem to be working properly take it off and remove the dust from it.

Sorry to disagree but is one of the blobs on the dash near the windscreen not for the aircon and the other for the auto lights?

Yes one of the domes is the auto light sensor and the other one is the sunlight sensor for the AC. However we are talking about the cabin temperature sensor.

i thought the dome sensors were for auto lights and key remote

Maz, I had this sensor out the same time I removed all that part of the dash under the steering column to fit my Nokia Car Kit.

As far as I remember, there was just a black rubber tube going into it (no wires) which I just removed from it. As fluff said they can be dirty, as mine was. Gave it a good clean before I attached the tube to it again.

You should try cleaning it and see if it helps, worth a try.

Gavin :)

Hmmm, okay - the car tells you what the outside temperature is but is there any way to find out what it *thinks* the inside temperature is? This would help with diagnosing possible aircon faults. I used to have a SLC that had both inside and outside temperature displays (so you could work out if the CC was doing its job or not!).

Don't think you should. It was handy for me because I had mine off anyway.

Try putting your hand up behind the dash and poping it out, if you can't get at it it may be possible to prize it out from the front.

well i been to the Lexus dealer in Leeds today to have my car book in next Tuesday for it first (very late) service, after i mention about the heater/aircon fan to the service technian, the damn fan started to work like normal when the technian was checking it over after he check the rest of the car....(the paint work, the TTE supercharger, the body kits, the bonnet etc etc, hehehe :) :) :) :) ), but they will take a further look at the first service, and typical once i left the dealer the fan stopped working again, but i do notice whenever its not woking, i can hear clicking noise when i turn the aircon or heater on and off, possible a faulty relay? or fuse? or lose connection somewhere????:question::question: , will find out next Tuesday... ;) ;) ;) ;) :whistling::whistling::whistling:

also having a 4 wheels and steering wheel alinement check as well next week......hope everything is ok after the service... :whistling::whistling::whistling:
