De-smelling

Recommended Posts

I got a bit fed up of my car looking like, well, looking like it did with a few kilograms of dirt on it so I took it to be valeted. Only problem is, they sprayed the inside with some revolting air freshener - supposed to smell like pear drops which I can't stand anyway!

Does anyone know of an effective way of removing the smell? Everyone always commented on how nice my car smelt before - never used any products in it and I'd quite like it to go back to being like that!

You can never go wrong with a Richbrook Poppy coral!

Come in various colours to match your car, i've got a blue one and its almost a perfect match.

Here: Clciky

Then you get different refils though the most popular is Lemon.

Sticky back velcro to the Poppycoral to the felt tray!

Works a treat.

be careful of the liquid type air fresheners, they are almost like paint stripper if spilt on your dash, not only can they strip the paint of plastic surfaces some can actually melt the plastic

:crying:

no such thing as de-smelling, the word is deodorise :winky:

wont be any use to you, unless you can find a similar device, however my local BP has this new fangled machine which is next to the hoover. its some kind of spray machine which you spray onto the carpets in the car. i had a go out of interest 'new car smell' of course and was quite surprised. really good

That sounds intriguing. I don't think my local BP has one. Any idea what it's called?

i remember the first time i used one of those machines about 6 years ago... put in tokens and up popped 2 mins... so sprayed this stuff over everthing for 2 mins.... didnt realise you were supposed to use the hoover for most of that time and a light spray after...

nearly choked to death on the way home and it took over a day with all windows open to become bearable.. so beware the quantity you use!! lol :whistling::whistling:

Same goes for plug-in ones at home. ONE WAY UP. On their side they'll leak and attack plastics (such as, in my case, the 4-way trailing socket that it was plugged into and the UPS that the 4-way was sitting on top of). Catalytic embrittlement I think is the term. Crumbly plastic is the result.
