Thanks, yes I did get a handover which included the boot items but they were all wrapped in plastic so the problems with sizes, shapes etc weren’t apparent. I can go back and ask them about this but I thought I’d get a more useful answer from other users here!

As others have pointed out, the 12v battery does not have the capacity that one would have fitted to ICE cars. I found this out the hard way when fitting front & rear dash cams during which I found myself locked inside the car on 2 occasions. Yes, before the battery fully depletes it goes in to “protect” mode and locks the car. Not fun having to climb from the front seat through to the boot to be able to use the manual release. The low capacity 12v battery works fine though after leaving the car for 3 weeks at an airport so I guess it does what it is designed to do & now I know what its limitations are I plan accordingly, it doesn’t really present any hardship.

Does not have to be an official recorded safety issue recall. Nothing to stop a manufacturer having a non safety recall for whatever they want, doesn't have to be an "official" recorded one, but in reality they avoid as best they can to save the costs.

In my experience I get 3-5 mpg more with premium. That said, not all premium is the same. Esso used to be the best for mpg before they stopped zero ethanol, now Shell seems to be marginally better. Typically on mixed driving I get around 30/32 on premium and 27/29 on regular. That said, driving style makes a lot difference, especially on long motorway runs. I find 60-65mph to be the sweet spot, and on a run over to France got an average of 40 mpg at that kind of speed. Funnily enough it rarely makes any difference to journey time, as the slower speed is mitigated by less slowing down for other drivers and then speeding up again, whih of course burns more fuel when accelerating. At 60-65 I find that sometimes I can maintain a constant speed for most of the journey with hardly ever having to touch the brakes.

I thought I'd share my experiences having picked up my NX450h+ a couple of days ago. I'm the second owner, the first being a different Lexus dealership who pre-registered the car in late September 2023, so 4 months ago. 35 miles on the clock when I collected it. No second key fob, just the manual key. Their description of when I'd get the 2nd key fob was completely in line with the latest news on this forum. I was also told the "priority order" is based on chassis number, so mine should be coming soon despite only just buying the car. I was also told they will use my address for the letter as the registered owner of the car. I asked about locking wheel nuts/bolts. They hadn't thought of this, but having checked there were none in the car, he said they had been sent a few sets, so it was also supplied and fitted while I was doing all the paperwork. Impressive. The car came with a paper copy of the manual. My fuel flap is sticky. As a result they've ordered a new one and it will be fitted for me in a week or so while I wait So - all in all a good experience so far, and I really like the car.

After a month or so of searching and with the support of some of you guys on here…… I’ve finally found the car for me. 2004 Silver, Black and Walnut. A lovely, genuine, unmolested, 4 previous owner SC. Driven 220 miles today bringing it to its new home and it drives beautifully….. never missed a beat. It is indeed a game of cat and mouse. But Lexus/Toyota seem to have given up, effectively leaving whole generations of cars easily stolen. Whereas JLR are spending £10m to retrofit older vehicles with better security.

Generally when you pull off and come to stop. A single clunk. Once it happens it won't happen again until you do the opposite motion i.e stop or start.

Spare wheel isn't ideal if you have a family and the boot is full. I've no issue in purchasing a spare wheel and keeping it into he garage, In all my years all my flats have been while at home obviously from a nail the night before. But I'm not fan of the sealant gunk it's just a shame in the is300h the battery takes up the boot space. I will also admit I've never had breakdown cover in the 25 years of driving what can ever wrong in the Toyota/Lexus 🤣 but in my view that is the middle ground.

I would similarly have issues about paying more for less! The cheapest car is almost always the one you own already - with the potential for a Relax warranty until 10 years / 100k miles, is there any reason to change? If you’re looking at other brands, have you considered the Toyota Yaris Cross? I have a test drive booked at the end of the month. The car looks impressive, and the reviews are excellent, but the initial PCP numbers I’ve been given aren’t encouraging…I’d end up paying over £100 more per month than on my current RX deal! I know that’s because the world has changed since 2021 when I bought mine, both in terms of interest rates and trade in values. I also know that I got a huge discount for the RX at purchase, and there don’t seem to be any discounts on the LBX at the moment, nor are there any finance offers. Why would there be to be fair, as it’s a brand new model. What has depressed me is the staggering drop in value for my RX over the past six months, one can only assume because of theft/insurance issues affecting desirability. Anyway, I’ll go and look at the LBX as it may be a future contender. For now I can’t see why I’d downsize and pay more, which offsets increased insurance on the RX. One other thing. I’ve looked at a couple of other brands - one premium, one not - and both dealers offered significantly more for my RX than Lexus have! That’s disappointing, but may be resolved with a bit of a haggle. One option is the new MINI Countryman which I’ll drive in March. Looking in the showroom, it’s more practical than the LBX, helpfully cheaper for a like for like spec (£4k approx), and has an impressive and high quality interior. At the other end of the scale I’ve been impressed by the Skoda Kamiq, which is £10k cheaper than the Lexus for the top model, and as I’m now doing fewer than 5k miles a year may well be a good ‘value’ alternative.

I also did not get any EU safety kit but had one from previous car. Important to note that it must be accessible within the car. If you have luggage, then under the boot would be illegal, certainly in Spain. Also soon needed is a led flasher that can be placed on the roof in place of the yellow triangles. You're right, it can and does drive you potty! The noise can appear to originate from the offside but can also manifest itself from the nearside, albeit the former tends to be more usual. BTW, well done for getting hold of the "TSB" which I believe was created by Lexus Australia!

I've encountered this with several LCs. Just be warned that Lexus tend to fix it and the noise returns. Hopefully the attached will help.

oh, wow, that one has gone already then. Just goes to show if priced right they will sell. I didn't think the one I have bought had ML, as don't think it was mentioned in the ad. Yes, Colin, I do have a trickle charger I used to use for my motorcycle batteries on the basis that they were ridden infrequently. I wouldn’t expect to have to use it on a £50k+ car that is driven over 10k miles a year… In any case, my car is too far from the house to plug the charger in. As advised by the AA and others on these forums, I have been putting the car into ‘Ready Mode’ when hoovering the floor mats or loading / unloading the boot - something I have never had to do with any other car! I have raised the matter with Lexus again.

i got sent a really weird way by satnav recently and ended up struggling down tiny country lanes-is there a setting on satnav that these can be avoided ?and is it better to use fastest route or shortest route?i dont have a phone with internet or ipads or anything so i cant use apps

Likewise. I kept the cables in the bag (bit of a wrestle to get them in!) and stored them in the boot. Eventually put them below the boot floor without the bag but also got fed up getting them out and in so they are back in the bag in the boot! Certainly didn't get a European safety kit and guess this must be a requirement now.

Errr, interesting. Mine came with the 2 cables and screwdriver but no European Safety Kit. I did get a bag but it's not big enough or the right shape for cables so I've never been sure about its intended purpose. Although the cables do fit under the boot floor, I have given up putting them there as it's too awkward to get them out every day or so.

It is either severely discharged or faulty - you should expect to see between 12.6 - 12.8 v when fully charged. I'd certainly expect it to read higher after 80 mins of charging, but that might not be enough to fully charge it, depending on how flat it started out at. I assume you don't have a battery charger to fully charge it up? If not you don't actually need to drive the vehicle, you can just leave it in 'Ready' mode for it to charge the battery - turn off the heating system so the petrol engine doesn't fire up all the time to keep the cabin warm.

According the manual also your TPMS sensors are at risk when using sealant. All in all using it can be quite costly and the stuff does not always work.

same here, safety kit is too big to fit under the boot cover. just sloppy design, not "takumi" (artisan) in my view 🙂

Yes tyre shops hate tyre sealant and I know fir a fact they refuse to deal with a customer whose used it. I speak from the experience of a few friends. The space saver wheel fits all four corners.

The hole (radar cruise control?) and the leather vs wood steering wheel.

The one on the left has no rear view mirror and ha the extra hole in the bumper.

On the plus side the longer contract you can get the more you save. The new contract price is fixed for the term, on current day prices. My final major service of a three year term is due in March and will be a decent saving when comparing the increases over the last 3 years. Hopefully I will be able to push for a new 3year with an interest free, monthly direct debit.

As above the Hybrid system will manage the charge status and not something to worry about. When at the minimum charge (something like 20%) the engine will start (if not already running) and recovers to max normal (something like 80%) within a few miles of driving. You'll only ever get to 100% after extended braking.

Don't bother giving it a thought. It sorts itself out. Mine is rarely 'fully charged', only after a long mountain descent. The system doesn't allow it get too low either, just diverts power generated by the engine to charge the battery if needed. One of those rare things that just 'works'. Enjoy your purchase!

It isn't - it's a rushed compliance car that is woefully uncompetitive. Even The Car Care Nut on YouTube, who couldn't be anymore pro Toyota/Lexus, said it wasn't a good car.

Hi Lisa, I had exactly the same problem on my UX, ended up changing my password to have no capitals on the Lexus app on my home computer then starting afresh in the car and it sorted it. Note that was on the pre-Lexus plus app. Worth a try?

Hello fellow SC430 owners. I'm just an SC430 owner snooping the internet. The footwell lights are T5 LED and not T10. You will need needle nose pliers to pull out the old bulb. The base matters a lot. I originally did a plastic base and resembled the halogen base. Problem was it was a tiny bit wider so I had to trim it up. I did a rough job so the light eventually blew. I ended up buying a base that looked like a chip and it worked well. I hope this helps.

It's a modern society bombarded by 'noise', technological change. time pressures, that frankly 'winds' people up to a pitch where they behave in a manner where normal rules of behaviour are just 'parked' in the ignore zone. Examples, a friend of my daughters pursued by a very normal looking woman in a car who 'thought' she had 'dissed' her out of a parking spot. Literally waited for the girl to come back out of a store and then followed her 'buzzing' her. WTF ! Zebra crossings, just lost count of the times I am on the crossing with the dog and cars just keep coming through...so my question is where is the drivers attention? Are they looking and ignoring, or are they just totally out of it focused on the pressing need to be somewhere a few seconds faster. I could cite many more examples of people just behaving beyond the pale ,but really why bother when it's just all around us virtually everyday.

They have however apparently already received the top accolade for the most stolen hybrid vehicle. UK consumer law states “ Goods must be of satisfactory quality” and “Fit for purpose” Personally I would not consider an easily stolen motor vehicle to meet either of these criteria.

Oh man! I'm so happy! I just put fabric tape on the striker....and ..the sound,....it's....GONE! Last nuisance was the rear cup holder. When opened, no problem, when closed; rattle. Removed rubber cap above philips head screws at the bottom of the cup holder. Unscrewed and removed cup holder. If you look at the back, you'll see that the chrome release button makes another plastic part pivot just a little to release the lid. That part is loose, I wedged a little fabric tape on both sides and also put some front and rear of the chrome button. Now that too is silenced. I will sleep like a baby tonight

Hi Tim, your experience is almost identical to mine. Sounds the same and we've tried the same things.... However, I currently have it sorted by my dealership... They identified the problem as being caused by the tailgate needing tightening against the striker. They also put some fabric tape around the striker, and, so far so good... not a creak in 2 months - including a long trip to Cornwall and back. I've declared it resolved, and at least have a very good idea where to go if it happens again. Hope that helps you. Let me know!
