  2. The compressor on my wife’s RX300 is incredibly noisy. I made some enquiries at the time and came to the conclusion that we should live with it and on hot days use sparingly. It had a re gas at an independent a few years ago and has been functioning OK ever since. When my RX 450h was in for the plugs and service at Lexus Coventry I was told: ‘A/C HP pipe leaking’ and quoted £620 for replacement. £170 for parts, £450 for labour. I asked how the Technician could tell it was leaking, had he pressure checked, etc. and also asked for the old pipe to be returned afterwards. This was once booked in but before I had taken it in. Then started the odd request to bring it in earlier, leave it with them, there might be bolts that had seized, etc. I suspected there would be ‘another issue’ once it/was with them some cancelled. I took it to an independent again and had it re-gassed for £66. It’s been fine for weeks. Bear in mind that a re gas is more than a top up. They empty the system, check it will hold a vacuum, then fill it. Mine held the vacuum so although there could have been a small leak that led to the gas leaving over years before I bought it, it’s probably minuscule. Some might say that the technician observed the A/C wasn’t working and assumed the most likely cause, which generates work for the dealer. I used Lexus Coventry years ago when Tom was there and always had good service but this recent episode left me feeling suspicious and frankly I don’t rate the Service Manager there now.

  4. The Relax warranty is, unfortunately, dependant upon following the service schedule recommended in the service handbook as that is the manufacturer recommendation. Any dealer telling you otherwise is talking rubbish and should be asked for proof of their claims. There's no way a lexus dealer would do an oil change and tell you your car is fully warranted for another 12 months, at least not in the T's & C's contained within the wording of the Relax Warranty (google is your friend). I stopped paying the service plan when they shortened it from 3 to 2 years but charged the same price...daylight robbery to fund their hiked labour rates a few years ago. At 3 years it was good value. Not any longer, especially since the breakdown assist was removed fro the deal (so I was told by the service team).
  5. Dear Ian (IGROK) I cannot thank you enough. This solution (minimising audio notifications) has resolved my connection problems. So much appreciated. Femi
  6. I am very upset with the treatment I get when asking questions about my new car. They even hung up on me. Gas mileage isn’t what they said on a hybrid, and no spare tire. What a shame!
  7. So no update from Lexus, no communication on why a recall has been issued, confusion reigns.....
  8. Heard nothing more. Bought a disklok as another additional measure anyway.
  9. That seems odd, my NX shows the same on the car and in the App. The App shows the per trip information, which should read the same as the 'after start' reading at the end of each journey .... Maybe you are looking at the overall figure?
  10. LV is now live, I’ve just done mine swapping from current car to the LBX to collect it on Tuesday.
  11. Hi All, My LC 500 is due for a service and MOT on the 14th June and I suspect may need a number or replacement tyres. The car is a 2017 registered model with 19750 miles. Presently, I have on the front, Bridgestone Potenza’s. 245/40 RF21 96Y and rear also Bridgestone’s Potenza 275/35/RF21 99Y. Could the group let me know what's the best tyre now to replace these with. I have read that some owners favour the Non-Run Flats but that would preclude me purchasing some sort of tyre repair kit. The run flats I have are noisy and a hard ride so would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks All, Cheers Tony Bournemouth.
  12. Highly unlikely but I have no definitive knowledge that allows me to state this. Welcome to Lexus world. I hope you enjoy your new car as much as I enjoy mine.
  13. Better audio from CDs - no compression!
  14. Honestly a simple single or twin relay immobiliser that requires a fob or a touch key to get the car running is all we need. That’s effectively what is fitted on mine as part of the tracker install. No fob, no start. Tin plates that I would imagine just need crowbarring off or hunting down another canbus access point, clever software systems that will suddenly become hackable months later - I think Lexus are missing a trick by not simply bunging a cheap immobiliser onto every at risk car. No point just some of us doing it, every single car in the country has to be protected to stop thieves wrecking peoples bumpers on the off chance a car is still stealable. They could have fitted thousands of cars with immobilisers by now.
  15. Just been directed to this Thread as I have the same issue with the sunroof on my 2016 RX450H brought from Lexus under their approved scheme 18 months ago. I can see that some of you have managed to get the Pan Roof fixed by Lexus but has anyone managed to get the Sunroof fixed by Lexus?
  16. I was getting an annoying rattle as well but found it was the passenger seatbelt buckle that had slipped down and was vibrating against the door column.
  17. My son has an expensive Audi and it's screen displays every fingerprint. He uses a micro cloth which works well and I copied that successfully with my NX 350h. I then made the mistake of using a glass cleaner provided by Lexus which welded the prints to the screen! After about a month the micro cloth was able to remove them.
  18. Just come across this topic, but I think this is an important point that Don makes! As a basic rule, it’s never a good idea to mix different types of tyres. As to whether RFs are repairable, it seems that the answer is….it all depends on the tyre, why it’s losing pressure and how it’s been driven on! This explanation by Goodyear might be helpful. https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/learn/can-run-flat-tyres-be-repaired.html
  19. That was the first thing I tried, but in 2024 on the Lexus.de website, the equipment levels I'm talking about no longer exist.

  21. I cant beat your efficiency. That's impressive numbers esquire. I am rocking 3.1 miles per KWh with mainly urban and A roads and a little motorway (hilly but with up and downhill so should theoretically even out id have thought). I do have an F-sport so don't know if that makes things worse. Real life I am getting early 50's now in electric so happy with that. My May stats are 450 miles with 79% EV and 243 MPG (most of my daily (return) trips are inside the electric range). Out of interest how do you use the car? Start in EV and let it run out? Manually switch between EV and HV or put it in auto and let it decide? I am beating you on the charging front....got the Hive charger and years free charge offer. Just hope the smart charge is still about when I come off it!
  22. On the Lexus pricing plan 100k should just be another major service.
  23. They never put a deposit down that’s the thing… and I have my cash sorted for the deal which was even mentioned putting a deposit down means a guaranteed purchase if all was ok after viewing
  24. I think what we were discussing was brakes upgrade kit from GS300/IS350. As mentioned - Brembo pads where not exceptional in any way. ECP can be good sometimes when they have discounts.
  25. So much wiring behind the TEYES unit. Can't even get it in place. Sits an inch proud ...
  26. Dave Alan forever ……. wonder if he had a Ls400 ? Malc
