Very cool - 18 months ago this was not possible on UK cars. £550 is cheap to be honest bearing in mind the work involved. A gamechanger for some buyers I would guess, me included - using Waze and Spotify is a massive plus.

Is it time for a new car or keep the GS450h?
dutchie01 replied to Gentleman's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Thats a big jump from repairing your car and driving on to a brandnew BMW for 540/month. That monthly sum can be temptive but how does it look if you have to pay 1 invoice per year for 5 years of 6480? and in the end you have to give it back and have no car? How about leaving the shocks, get the battery repaired as cheap as possible so the light goes out and swap it for a newer model? Its only for 2500 mls a year? -
Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm impressed and grateful! I've spoken with the dealership who have agreed it's not been supplied with the correct spec. They're having to wait until Monday to contact Lexus GB now. I'm going to push for a replacement rather than a discount and will keep you updated as to how this progresses.

RZ450e used prices
Andy B replied to Chris UXe's topic in Lexus RZ Owners Club - All-New Electric Lexus
I see that it's at Lexus Woodford so I think this is the exact car that I had for a day recently whilst my NX was with them for servicing - the colour, mileage and general (slightly poor) condition of the car looks familiar. If so, then it's currently a "manager's car \ tester" so does need some TLC - although nothing that a day's worth of general cleaning wouldn't resolve (which I would happily volunteer for 😀 - would be quite therapeutic I think). I've been following the RZ forum on here quite closely since it's inception as I did have half a mind to look into getting one to replace my NX. Over time though my enthusiasm has cooled quite a bit after hearing the experiences and trials and tribulations of the RZ owners here plus the issues facing all EV cars at the moment (insurance; battery life; depreciation; etc.). I only used the RZ for my 30 mile daily commute round the North Circular in London so didn't really have a great deal of time with it to give any real, meaningful, feedback. What I can say though is that it didn't give me the wow factor that I anticipated beforehand. It drove very well and was very quiet and smooth and was very comfortable. I really like the exterior styling and this one was in the colour that I would choose. Maybe it was the condition of the car plus the usual rush hour crawling North Circular traffic and the fact it was raining that dulled everything. If I bought one I would definitely miss having a rear wiper - as I say it rained for most of the day and I never really got up to a speed that would clear the rear screen aerodynamically so my view behind was obscured all the time. I thought beforehand that I would be reluctant to get back into my NX after savouring the delights of the RZ but to be honest it didn't bother me as much as I anticipated. Having said that - if they sold a hybrid version (with a rear wiper obviously 😀), I would be very interested. -
Independent Service providers
Spock66 replied to Ron Davidson's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
There are very few Lexus independents around. Dealerships will be more expensive but you will benefit from the Relax and Hybrid health check warranties and potentially higher retained value when you come to sell. A service plan will help spread the cost and protect you from future price increases. -
I'd say there is a good chance that you have moisture/condensation getting into a multi-pin electrical plug. I have an intermittent problem on a car (not a Lexus) where the combination indicator/light switch stalk plays up... indicators don't work and headlights don't work. Happens when there has been a spell of wet weather, or a frost causing condensation to form inside the car. Fixed it once by getting inside the steering column, unplugging and plugging back in the main multi-pin connector for the stalk. Other times it will resolve itself after a 20 minute drive with the heater and A/C both running. Next time I have to take the column apart I will spray both halves of the plug with contact cleaner as I have been told that often fixes the issue. Sorry I can't suggest where to look on your Lexus, but someone else may have some suggestions. Cheers...

CANBUS- Group legal action
AronJ replied to Grumps's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I have registered an interest in the class action. The security failing increased my insurance significantly, I have had to purchase additional security measures, and I have spent a lot of time communicating with Lexus about the issue before they finally admitted that there was a flaw and they had a free fix. I only found out through a friend who works in the car insurance sector and he told me about the security flaw (which was known by the insurers) and that Lexus had their head in the sand about it and didn’t want to admit anything. Pretty outrageous behaviour to let the customers deal with the consequences and financial implications. -
You’ve all just got to make sure the radiator’s changed at 100k miles too to prevent the gearbox oil cooler devastation I’ve been preaching this for ages but didn’t do it, nor even think about it on my 2006 Honda Legend that went “ pop “ at 149k miles recently Sorted now thankfully at ok cost for me, gearbox saved ,,,,,,,,, no air suspension for me on any car either Reading all the air set-up requirements can piecemeal fail overtime ,,,,,,, a risk one takes ,,,,,,,, There’s not that many owners hold on to their cars long enough to be able to plan this preventative maintenance stuff Lexus owners of older models seem to be in this rare group tho’ 👏 Good luck Malc

Yes, it does seem unlikely. However the device would have been useful for my mum who went shopping in Woolworths, came home, then remembered she’d left me outside the shop in the pram! 😂❤️ -
They are not the same, if I am not mistaken the one in the IS300 is self dimming/photochromic while the one in the IS200 isn't

excellent fuel economy
Shufman replied to P M R's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Mines hovering around 60 mpg but that’s mainly to work and back through traffic. If I go out of town then it’s usually 65 - 75 mpg. The highest I’ve seen is 93 back from the pub 30 mins away. -
I know the odds on seeing another in the wild are extremely low, but I had an encounter earlier this week in Lincoln city. I had made a turn that resulted in my going up a dead end road, and I then had to do an about-turn. Whilst doing so, I stopped the progress of a white convertible LC! I recall it had a personalised plate and if the driver is a forum member I'd like to apologise for making a faff of the whole manoeuvre, but navigating one's way around Lincoln isn't without it challenges. So what are the odds of seeing another LC and to come across it in an unfamiliar city whilst I was making a 180-degree turn that ultimately meant there were two LC's nose to tail. Even my wife couldn't believe it, and trust me, she also knows how rare these cars are!

You're not wrong. Kia and hyundai have a security vulnerability. There's a gameboy shaped key code generator that can get you in them remotely within seconds. No physical access required. Ev6 ioniq 5 and 6 seem to be vulnerable. -
Yes I did look online and there were a few on Ebay but too much wear and damage on the leather. I will keep looking and use a pillow for now :-) Thank you for your input! Martin

With my last car, I got into the habit of turning the key off whenever I came in the house, I've just continued doing that with the NX. -

Alarm Keeps Going Off, Early Hours Of The Morning.
300KK replied to Yates-Is200S's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
I've had this problem with both my 2002 IS and my Toyota truck, the security system seems to be really sensitive to tiny insects flying around inside the car. I think there is a way to make it less sensitive, if you can interpret the badly-translated owners' manual.
