RC F - Fuel Vent tube recall.

Recommended Posts

I received one too - for my GS300h. I've posted a pic of the removal procedure on the GS300 etc forum. It's pretty easily accessible under the boot floor - I think it shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour and you get a free vehicle health check too. I'm booked in at Lexus Stockport for March 20th.

It's for a potential crack in the flange where the vent tube attaches to the tank. I suppose if your car is affected, it's urgent. But probably it isn't (affected or urgent).

They're starting the job in mid-Feb when I guess they hope parts will be available. They did book me in for Feb but now they've moved it to March.

Lexus would still be the ones to issue recall letter, indeed the letter also has a section to return if the recipient of the letter has sold on the car in question and is no longer the keeper.

My recall letter came through yesterday, but already had it booked in for the work with my service at the end of next month thanks to the heads up from this thread - so many thanks👍🏻

I got a letter from Lexus about replacing the fuel vent tube. Anyone know how long this will take to replace & is it urgent?

I discovered that my IS250 was scheduled for this recall while checking my car with the DVLA.  The Dealer confirmed it but apparently there was a problem getting the part.  Which is why I hadn’t had an advisory letter.

It seems that this is regarded as a very low risk failure.

Anyway, it was booked in for its annual MOT and Service this month.  So rather than continue to wait for the part, they replaced the tank - so they assured me!

They have provided written confirmation and it’s now recorded in the car’s Lexus history.

Had both letter and an email.

Rang Lexus Cambridge who said part is on back order for at least a month.

Told them I'm over 40 miles away so not in a

hurry and would rather wait until it's in for a service in late July anyway.

Tbh they couldn't get me off the phone quick in enough...maybe too late in the day (4.55pm) when I rang. 😂
