Old School Ford's

My 2nd ever car was a G registration MK1 Ford Escort in white, unforunately it was only an 1100cc model.

Absolute rust bucket, tried to replace the sills and never did find clean metal to weld them to, petrol tank was in the passenger side rear quarter so when the wheel arch went through and the boot floor the tank rotted away.

Escort GTI... Ouch my eyes hurt! Honestly I think they were one of the ugliest cars ever made, no offence Wendle sorry :)

I really like the Granada. My uncle had one when I was a kid. I loved going in it :)

It wasn't the Cosworth tho but that is a good looking car. Do you still have it?

Fords are good strong cars and have owned two first was the 1.25 zetec engine that revved to 7000rpm from its little yamaha engine and the second was V6 ford Cougar was confortable to drive and went well the sound of that V6 once its passed 4200rpm was nice..reliable cars aswell never had any issues with my fiesta and the only major issue i had with the V6 was alternator but apart from that was a nice car to drive but not as nice and as fast as the IS300 tho..

Had a few fords myself over the years, loved them all in one way or another.

My 1st car was a 1600 MkV Cortina bought at an auction in Leeds. Also had a mk2 Escord 1600 Ghia from an auction in Leicester. Non auction fords were a mk2 Capri 3000 Ghia, and a couple of mk3 2.8 injection Capri's.

I've always been a 'Fast Ford' fan. I know people say its a bad thing, but they do make some the best hot hatches if you like. Take a mint Escort Cosworth or RS500 now, worth more than a new Lexus!

In my time I've had:

Fiesta XR2 MkII

Escort RS Turbo MkII

Sierra Sapphire Cosworth

Orion 1.6EFi Ghia (Illuision kit, big wheels, lowered. Yes I know young and silly!)

Focus ST MkI

Focus RS MkI

I used to absolutely love the Scorpio 24v Cosworth when I was younger, always wanted one but that's one I missed. I'm with Wendle, very underrated car!

I think they've lost it again now with the current Focus ST style, just when they were doing so well.

  • 1 month later...

I had a few 24v Granadas and loved them, still a lovely car to drive even today as my dad had one upnuntilnrecently and I drove that, extremely good reliable cars. Also like the old school Fords.

Another Ford fan here and thanks for sharing! I actually worked at Ford's Dagenham Diesel Centre at one point, and they have a small warehouse next door with some pretty nice classics stashed away.

Anyway, some really pristine (and rare) examples in that link!
