  1. I expect most people know this but I'll just add that wiping the mist off the windscreen doesn't help. It's best if the glass is as clean as possible. Then the demister with aircon running should have no difficulty clearing the mist. But if you wipe it with your hand or a gloved hand it will transfer particles of grease and dust onto the screen. This gives the mist something to stick to, making it harder for the demister to clear the screen. I've always found that keeping the screen as clean as possible and then avoiding touching it is best for keeping the screen clear.

  3. P0660 code could quite possibly be an inlet manifold off job, no easy task. I'm not sure I would do any more work on the car unless you think it's worth spending on. I'd want my money back, but as you're dealing with a man who clearly has no morals or conscience it may be hard work. If you do ever get to meet him again take a mirror with you to see if he has a reflection!

  4. A good time to buy A pair of Denso blades for £16.48. And of course they're a direct fit without adapters.

  5. My car was at Lexus Cheltenham for the day and I was in a loan 19 plate RX450h (actually a car for sale they gave me off the forecourt). I had a couple of issues when my car was handed over, the front chrome lower strip was split, tow eye cover missing and there was a small pinhead sign of corrosion on the rear offside wheel centre. Strip replaced and a new wheel fitted so all now looks great. The service guys also gave me a full service history print out at my request which made interesting reading. The curse of the Toyota water pump leaking resulted in a replacement in August when the car was serviced and coolant bottle found to be depleted. Most interesting was the Lexus UK request to replace the fuel pump in October 2019 so this is possibly an' in service' modification. This work doesn't appear in the 'my Lexus' app on my phone. Interesting to see if anyone else here has the fuel pump replaced by Lexus. Car nicely polished and valeted so a good day.

  8. Just ordered mine and only £14 with free delivery for the LS400.Last time I got new rubber from Lexus but after 22 years the wiper frame is now a bit tired and they are expensive from Lexus.

  9. When I replaced my transmission cooler hoses I used fuel hose, a very experienced local parts supplier told me it's absolutely fine for transmission fluid. I don't know about silicone hose either, I've not had experience with it. I do know cheap jubilee clips don't always work well. As mentioned, unless you've got a pin hole in the metal part I would have thought it's simple enough to rectify.

  10. When I updated my SD card, I had to tell to seller the navigation system type and registration number you can read in navi menu, then he prepared the files I downloaded and, after saving sd files for backup, I overwrote new ones on same sd.

  14. quite frankly I'm not at all surprised it's lasted 227k miles My Mk1 Ls400 I changed the alternator when it blew out at about 150k miles following the age old pas O ring issue leakage and there was little doubt then that was the original alternator this upset me tbh it only having lasted a short mileage, but accepted that cars do break down sometimes, even fabulous Ls400s I had thatcar since about 100kmiles and would have been really really upset if it had gone before or at that time I think 227k miles is fair wear and tear and any longer would have been a bonus in life maybe ............ a little longer would have been happier though I don;t doubt that original Lexus equipment could easily last so well Malc

  16. @LexusFanBoy, what country do you live in? I only ask as whilst there is no such thing as a 4th Gen GS200t or GS300 in the UK, the GS200t ( which was then rebadged GS300) was available with the 2.0 t engine you are referring to in the USA and probably some other countries also.

  18. Hi I've just bought an sc430 with a magnaflow system which has a great noise but not too loud and it seems well made. It deletes the third cat. It should cost about £750 plus fitting.

  20. Soooooo.... Been in touch with the exhibitions team at Chateau Impney where we can get a dedicated exhibition area, afternoon tea or lunch and rooms for those who want them. Plenty of good roads on the way there from every angle! The place looks pretty awesome, great for photos; And we can park in one of a number of great locations for the pics; Still gotta firm this up but it's a decent option for now. Watch this space for more.

  22. On my last long drive with my Mk 4 LS400 before selling it, the low winter sun in my eyes....my mate and fellow LS400 owner pointed out the mini sun visor above the rear view mirror. I'd driven that car for over four years in total and never noticed that feature before!
