I did think about having the entire car done, but in the end I decided against it as I was unsure that if the car got any parking dents etc that the whole section would have to be redone. in the end I had the whole front of the car done including the wings plus the side skirt and rear arches.(basically the most vulnerable bits) Paul

Thanks. I personally like brightly finished wheels with dark body colours, especially blue. However I never realised before how polished rims show every mark. I probably will always park drivers side to the kerb so I can see the distance to the kerb. My RX has side cameras which is so handy. I understand from Calvin at SC430mods.com that he is intending to do an add on to his reverse camera setup to add front and side cameras at some point. That would be a bonus for me.

My IS300h is having it's 21st service next week, 210,000 miles, every 10k without fail at Lexus Birmingham.

I have an EWD, (Wiring Diagram) available and I can check the complete circuit and give you some starting points if you need any.

Wow!! Stunning car (the best colour) but if I had those wheels I would not park it less than 12 ins away from any kerb 🙃

I'm from Cork myself but living in Dublin now. You'll have no problem with the Lexus in Cork - as "Beamish" has outlined above. Infact, Beamish is the local stout which you'll have to try (I have and hate it ...) More importantly, you'll have to learn how to speak Cork. After 18 months and 22k miles her's my thoughts of the Lexus NX. It's quiet, extremely comfy, quality. No creaks/rattles, it feels brand new. Fuel economy using 97octane is 40mpg (a couple more that the 1.5 eco dsg of a tiguan i had previous), with a gentle right foot but mostly duel carriageway driving. 10 speaker stereo good, but could do with a bit of bass from the subwoofer (never heard it). Great lights on dipped beam with the bi-LEDs. Only really 3 things that slightly annoyed were the volume button on wheel, 50 taps to turn it up, and the auto wipers don't seem to be clever at all (far worse than any other car i've had), and a bit more boot space would have been good. Overall a fantastic car. So good in fact that when i had a 23 NX for the day i thought the new model was a disappointment. Sure it was a bit quicker and the fuel economy better, but it seemed like a nice Toyota, not a Lexus. So... I found a good deal on a 22 RX 450h Premium Sport Edition (the PCP is much CHEAPER than a new NX, due to offers as it's a run out model) that looks even more amazing. Hopefully it will be like an NX plus. Looking forward to it 🙂

Hello all, First of all, thank you to the admins for such a well organize group. Loving the member discounts and the forum information, really useful tools. Thank you also to all of you that posted here lots of information, it´s been such a great help for me... I just bought a used Lexus LC500h sports plus 2017 with 39k miles on it, in grey. Interior is red and black. I am not a friend of chrome, so the first thing I´ve done is blacking out the front trim, the trim above the taillights, and the chrome arches. Right now I am in the process to try and update the maps, got the code and downloading them now...wish me luck!!

Quick update: The rear rack was fixed at a total cost of about 4.1k Euro - 1K euro for fitting + ECU and other stuff I had done + 3.1k Euro for the unit itself which included Delivery + VAT + duty. I ordered the required rear steering part from Amayama Japan and it arrived after a few weeks - I must say their service is incredible! Lexus Galway fitted it no problems and will warranty the work/unit for 12m. The ECU controlling the steering unit had also fried which was another ~2.5K euros (!) but luckily they had one from another customer and sold it to me for 10% of the price. So, in the end an expensive fix, but the original price was well north of 12k so I think I did well enough to get costs down thanks to this great forum. Cheers to everyone who replied. Damien

Also, what about the physical size of some of these SUVs?. They're just as big as a van, which is subject to lower speed limits than a "car" on certain roads. I wonder if they'd still be as popular if you could legally only do 50mph in one? 😉

None with mine either 17 yrs old but low mileage, and lives in Wales so not a lot of opportunity to open it, I do give mechanism a spray with Wd 40 now and then and treat seals with vaseline occasionally, any sc this age will probably need exhaust and seeping shockers, poss Abs rings but most of these may have been done? Have a good look underneath usually surface rust but nothing to worry about otherwise just enjoy 👍Stew

I agree, the chap was not happy as he mentioned he initially under quoted without realising how much work was involved. So even though I ended up paying more than what was quoted with only 4 out of 10 replaced, I am just relieved for now.

I am 71 live in a rural area have full no claims and my wife included limited to 5k a year and my insurance has just crept over £200 with the AA first year they threw in breakdown cover for an extra £15

You can then independently extend the hybrid component and battery warranty cover for up to 15 years and unlimited mileage by having a Hybrid Health Check.

The front side lights and rear tail lights are all powered via the same relay and fuse so they must be ok if your tail lights are working. I assume you don't have factory HID lights and therefore the only thing in common across the two side lights is a single ground connection:

it's travelled no distance these past few years ........... she's not been put thru' her paces methinks these past recent years If you're going to use her then I'd be thinking to buy one with some more recent and useful miles under her belt ..... a quite higher mileage with good service Lexus history would be more my cup of tea ...... she should have covered about 140k miles by now and had all that suspension stuff replaced etc ... and be at a more sensible price I would go for a higher mileage well serviced machine Malc

Hi alloygators are the best reviewed and a great company to deal with, you will see them advertised elsewhere but alloygators themselves are best price at £75 17/19 inch, they have fitters all over the country but tbh you or even me!! could fit them ourselves lots of how to on YouTube no need to remove tyres but you will need to deflate and reinflate

I used power steering fluid on a sponge one stroke top to bottom and it looks fantastic lasts for a couple of washes then re-apply.There are no scratches or missing paint just faded black which transforms when the steering pump fluid is applied.

The ebay OEM alternatives don't last too long unfortunately, so it sounded like a good alternative at the time. Saw on ebay a "sport" exhaus but made of aluminum, so there shouldn't be any drone. It does look fabulous Paul and the powder coating as well👍just had mine done and decided to have Alloygators fitted (rim protection) in the hope of protection from minor skirmishes with the kerb something that seems to happen quite regularly now I am on the wrong side of 70😀

Start from the basics: -First check engine oil level & are you using 0w20 grade oil - Have you by any chance sprayed brake cleaner into the throttle body? Or drove through a deep puddle air filter may be soaked tell tale sign. (Have heard this noise before on a petrol engine after cleaning the throttle body but it went away within 30 seconds.) Could it be a bad batch of fuel, top it up with 5-10 litres of V power see if it dilutes the fuel to see if it makes a difference. *Has this noise started after undertaking any maintenance? If so try & trace it back to what work was done. If it is a fuelling issue injectors or spark plugs you would expect a misfire or engine code.

If the fuses are good but you can't measure a voltage at the plug, you must have a broken wire/connection somewhere. You need to look at the wiring diagram and then break the circuit down at any connection points and then look for continuity on each section in turn.

Yes Clutch pedal in case of Manual, my mistake. But I said as well that in my opinion it is start button or start button circuit.

They make the car look more of a classic roadster, a modern slant on a 1930s sport coupe perhaps. It needs a pic in front of some art deco architecture like the Chrysler Building in New York. It's good that the ride quality is still acceptable.

Today was the big day after waiting for 6 months for these wheels. I went down to Kwik-fit in the RX to get the Michelin 4 S tyres fitted. When I opened the rear tailgate the guy went Wow they are sic wheels. Then all the other tyre fitters came over to admire them. The Kwik-fit guys were great despite the reputation the company seems to have. I had put tape around the rims to protect them and they put even more on as they were as nervous as I was about fitting. An older more experienced guy came out of the the office to fit them while the others watched. Even he said he was nervous about fitting the tyres and put the tyres on from the inside rim of the wheel rather than outside. So I came back home fitted them on the car straight from the RX and finishing them off went to get the centre caps from the garage only to find the spigot rings I hadn’t fitted so they all had to come off again. Anyway all done now and I am pleased with result. The styling I know won’t be to everyone’s taste, my wife even said they look a bit bling. They fill the arch’s out nicely and I am sure if I was prepared to lower the car they would look even better. I just have hope they don’t get stolen. I have fitted two types of locking wheel nuts one set from the US which were expensive however I can’t believe that anyone can purchase something readily available from Halfords that will remove any locking wheel nut with ease. Doesn’t seem right to me. I went out for a drive and I was pleasantly surprised how good the ride is still. Definitely a little bit firmer but still a comfortable ride. Far and away better than my previous last 4 BMW’s with M Sport suspension and run flat tyres I owned.
