Lexus GS3 facelift automatic side mirrors folding module
Aras replied to Aras's topic in Buy & Sell Parts & Accessories
You mean this thread? That's the only video I've ever seen with factory mirror folding in operation and this video was taken in imported GS460. I looked into wiring aftermarket mirror folding module myself ,that's how i came across this thread and realised, that there were factory autofold option and probably japan only. Then i switched to do the research in Japanese. If your car is prefacelift, there are autofold options too,i just can't help with part numbers here as i was mainly researching post facelift. If i would be you,i would go to amayama, pick the fanciest button tray on there for prefacelift GS430 (the later years the better),take the part number,go to somewhere like buyee etc and try to find one used. Obviously it's hit and miss situation here, but being nearly 20 years old and used they aren't that expensive down there i believe,so you could try multiple part numbers. I bought mine brand new as i was sure about part no. And didn't wanted used stuff on my car. - Today

The Link+ app is continually showing all doors and boot as closed/unlocked. I’ve been back to the Garage but no luck in solving the issue. I’ve deleted the App and reset up the link but again no change. I have also noted that different time settings are shown on the Home Screen and the Status page. Has any other new LBX owner experienced the same problem?

Not too worried about the cam belt and water pump as I’m a mechanic although I work on classic Mercedes. Probably a bargaining tool if it hasn’t been done, I just needed to know what to look out for, thanks all, I’m going to have a look at it on Saturday. -
Yes the dealerships are blanking their customers. Short sighted and then some. I have taken a huge hit over the last two years - damage from an attempted theft and eyewaterinw insurance costs. The failure to warn us about the vulnerability and speed of action from Lexus will cost Lexus dear, as will the legal action to recover our loses.

Drivers seat foam deterioration

Thanks. That's what I expect them to say. But not what I expect in a car I've had for 4 months with a full warranty It's why I bought my first Lexus based on service and reputation. I'll see what happens -
RX4 pending....
Pinkfish replied to GSLV6's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
The damaged was quoted at around £4000. My excess was in excess of £1000. Still unable to get a reasonable quote. -
EV’s and PHEV’s currently not really suitable for ‘road warriors’ neither are petrol or diesels for urban / town driving. I had 4 PHEV’s before the EV and on long journeys a fairly small 2.0 litre engine was carting around added weight in the battery after about 25 miles. You’ll know what I mean as you drive a 450h. It really is ‘horses for courses’

I would suggest that it much depends upon what you're used to driving. In the current warm ('ish) climate the 3.3L V6 that purrs under the bonnet should give way to battery both on start up and careful driving with little or no noise. But if you drive it hard and want to get somewhere double quick then the V6 will do its job ... but at a cost. This is my first hybrid and I've learnt to change my driving style. The 400h CVT takes a while to get used to if you want to get the most out of the power ratios available without it costing you on mpg.

Well done! This was a real headscratcher! I am slightly concerned that car can die like this and there was no code until after your replaced the faulty part... honestly diagnostics system has failed here. But win is a win! P.S. B1421 and B1424 - doesn't mean anything, if it is dark outside (or if you in the garage which is not lit) then these will trigger for light sensor. You can literally put the flashlight next to the light sensor when running the diagnostics and they won't trigger.

hi all lexus lovers my gs have slight vibration in a seat and floor on motor way speed (starts around 75mph). checked and rebalanced all tyres , wheel alignment and suspension inspection also done no issues has been found. so i have decided to take a look at the prop shaft condition and found coupler disc cracked all the way around. so my question is maybe you guys have had something similar with your lexus and is this can cause a vibration at all? see attached photos. thank you

RX300 air suspension issues

I am somehow puzzled. Ordered a new strut this monday but it seems the car is not going down anymore. Must be a leak because i checked with some foam, but idk... strange stuff -
The driver's side rear door on my '07 RX400h opens fine from the inside but it's acting like it's locked from the outside, even though it's not. Has anybody else run into this? The piece of plastic holding it in place from the rear fell off on the freeway (the little screw holding it in worked itself loose over time) and I replaced it without any issue. Well, except for the fact that the handle doesn't open the door when you pull on it any more. Any advice? Thanks.

The folding door mirrors on mine are a switch on the drivers door by the window switches. One position is always open, one is always closed (folded) and the middle is folded when locked - which I don’t use as it looks silly with them folded at an angle. You should have two keys plus the card key. There was a chip shortage and some were being delivered with only one key but you should have two. I hope you got a good deal used UXe’s have dropped in value a lot from new due to the poor range. But if you can live with the poor range and only travel 50 miles from home and can charge at home, they are great cars. Currently getting 4.1 kWh in eco mode. Not even tried normal or sport it’s quick enough in eco.

Lucky you it's usually the EXPENSE that's excruciating these days.

Since I got my car I’ve had a growling power steering sound from the steering column, today I decide to look into it with possibly of it needing a power steering pump or something wrong with the column. Had a look under the dash will rocking the steering and to my surprise, it was a rubber gator fallen out of position and rubbing on the bulkhead seal. A quick push into place and all is fixed. Now I’m thinking the only time that would have been touched was when the dash came out for the air bag recall back in 2019 ! See rubber boot now back in position…it had dropped down .

That's very much in line with what I get and so all sounds good. -
Wouldn't a standard IS carpet fit? Worth checking, or if not, vehicle breakers may be your best bet...

I have a 2009 450H at 124,000 miles. Has been a great car. Only 'major' failure was a replacement heater fan under the used warranty. It does leak water somewhat - around the windscreen causes the brake light relay to fail every few years, plus some leaks into the boot. Not really worth fixing. Just had some MoT advisories on the front suspension arm ball joints but thankfully the arms themselves seem to be ok. Replaced both antiroll bar drop links following MoT failure. All seems reasonable given I live in an area obsessed by speed bumps.
