  3. I’d disagree it’s a waste of time harassing your dealer - the more flak they get at a local level (loudly, front and centre of showroom, weekends preferably) the more likely it’ll be passed up to the ivory tower that is Lexus UK’s anti theft team (unless, as I suspect, they all left their laptops in their now-absent company cars a few months ago).
  4. Mmm, yes I can believe that in this day and age! The companies you relate to are Equity Red Star, and Highway, are Lloyds backed companies. That means the insurer lays off your risk between several insurance companies within the Lloyds so no one company takes the full hit of any claim. This process can take longer to resolve as they all need to talk with each other. I know ERS do get reasonable reviews, Highway, not sure, but thanks for the heads up .
  5. I am a bit of a Honda fan (not sure if you can say that on here 😚) although I personally have never owned a Honda car. I still have a lawnmower and motorbikes which have been very reliable. Great to get a photo of 100,000. I'm sure I would have remembered at 100,003 🙈
  6. I wonder if it fails due to lack of use? I don't have to manually adjust the mirrors very often but use the auto dipping function a lot (on all 3 cars) and I don't recall a single failure. They might need manually realigning after a thorough wash and polish where the glass just needs to be re-centred but otherwise I've found them to be useful and reliable.

  8. There are instructions on the Lexus website detailing how to do it yourself… but I couldn’t get it to work either (you need a license code for the new update, and the part code showing was invalid according to the Lexus system!).
  9. ….very good question, Malcolm ! patience ! I do have a post pending titled ‘ so what exactly does not work on your Lexus LS 400, Anthony ?’. release likely tomorrow, now. need to compose / release ‘my Maintenance Service Record’s for my Lexus LS 400’ - within the hour - stay on this channel, folk’s ! 🙄😃🙄😃 anthony
  10. New review of the 300h, not Thomas presenting as usual, so not as thorough, but I think AJ does a pretty good job. Interesting to know they have added additional sound proofing.
  11. Car is inside garage with double electric doors. Today we have a power cut. Fortunately not planning to drive today. Is going to be a scorcher.
  12. Richard I saw the the Video that is what happend to me exactly, its the battery I bought my car 3 years ago from tunbridge wells I live in yorkshire the car had been on the forecourt 3 months I picked the car up on the saturday and the car never moved till Monday. Thats when i had the sound Tunbridge wells where ok the contacted Lexus Hull and told me to take it there and they would fit it. The fitter told me that clicking is the relay that as not got enough voltage to set the startup proccedure in motion I have not had a problem since as John as remarked those batteries last a long time if they are kept charged but if you let them run down they will fail and let you down. Just one point have you checked that the Battery conections are clean and tight.
  13. Is your car a mk3 or mk4? Sami's battery dimensions work for the Mk3 but I believe don't for the Mk4. I'll say it again - I don't believe a Panasonic battery (which cost you what? Not far off £300) would only last 3 years - mine is Panasonic and is coming up to 10 years old. Don't forget the heat sensor and the gas vent tubes.
  14. It does take a few miles so I’d keep going but I can’t remember what mine said on the dash while it was doing it.

  16. Are top bearings covered under warranty? My 69 plate UX is making a similar creaking noise on full steering
  17. It's not quite as practical as an RCF, but depends what you need really. I go shopping in it, I've been on week long holidays with it and had room to spare. You get a front and rear boot so it's more practical than an MX-5 or S2000.
  18. Yeah, they are extremely expensive for what they are. A cheaper option is to import them from Japan for half the price, including shipping. 04946-30110 Regardless, I'm not sure they'll cure a "clunk" type of sound, the shims mostly help with rattles or squealing.
  19. You just made me check my logbook and go "Hmph" It does indeed say under vehicle details O.1 1500kg braked and O.2 560kg unbraked. The problem with this is the MAM is 2055kg while the Kerb weight is 1710kg so surely adding a trailer+load of 1500kg goes way above the MAM unless MAM is for the car itself and i can still add 1500kg bringing the complete combined weight of car+trailer+load to 3555kg. I assume this is the case.
  20. Going to take a 2 hour test drive to determine once and for all whether the passenger seat can be adjusted so as to be comfortable for my wife. if it can then likely we will buy, if not then back to the research for alternatives!
  21. Well I got a quick reply from LV basically stating that the LBX was not yet added to their approved list so they could not offer insurance on it! When I asked when/if it would be added got typical fob off reply that they won’t know until it is added! So no further forward at all. I must wonder why it is taking insurance companies so long to add the LBX to their approved lists, perhaps Lexus are just not big enough to gain any importance in expediting their analysis?
  22. my 400 has 235/60s. The spring pan or cups on mine look very close to tyre. But they move in unison. They will never touch. Never have done.
  23. That’s was my view, something either behind or at the other end. It doesn’t disconnect if I waggle the cable. Unfortunately not a second one as only one is linked to AA
  24. this true and what's the process of replacing is it a hub off job?
  25. I think the point about whether the UX is a 'family' car revolves not around how many people you can get inside the car but rather what you can get in the boot when you have four people inside the car! If you have two kids in the back and are going on holiday for a week, where are you going to stow all the gear and suitcases? It ain't all going to go in the boot! And don't forget the pushchair and a highchair as well every time you visit the in-laws..! That's why, IMHO, it won't work for a lot of one-car families. I used to be able to leave my golf bag and golf cart (trolly) in the boot of my RX450h all the time. Having down-sized to my UX - which I love - it's a different story and the rear seats have to go down every time. I knew that would be the case and accepted it.
  26. Simply put, there isn't a market for the F range in the UK. The reason they don't sell quick, is because they're not suaght after. Sadly anyone with visions of a £30k+ ISF selling quickly is living in the US market. The UK is just not the place for the ISF (well not yet). It doesn't matter what you have, only another enthusiast or someone that knows what they want, will go for it. To other people it's an over priced V8 that is not desirable. I wish it wasn't!
  27. @Herbie can you please send me the same information you send Nick and others please ? thank you!
