  1. Thank you for the welcome, only have the one pic at the moment.

  2. As we all know from Lexus the pads and discs are not cheap, I had a guy source Brembo pads for the front of my isF last year and have just sorted a another set for @Rusty Crobar for the same price of £72.00 the rears are a little less. Had an email today today from him front pads now released and available in 24 hrs for both the Rcf and Gsf rear pads and front and rear discs will follow shortly. The price for the front pads for the Rcf and Gsf is £55.35 + vat A group buy is a possibility but unlikely so if anybody wants them here's the link ask for Sam or Neil they both know all about. http://wrsfactors.co.uk/contact-us Big Rat

  3. I offered £350 for one of their £408 sets of "Hoshi" wheels that had 24hrs to go, and they counter-offered somewhere in the middle. I was happy to oblige, so more or less got them with free shipping. The quality is superb and they pretty-much nailed the "Titanium" finish these wheels are supposed to have. They were also extremely well-packaged in tough company-branded boxes. These people are definitely not cowboys offering "too good to be true" deals!

  4. Welcome Tim. This is your car at Goodwood FoS in 2016. Driven by a guy who worked for Lexus

  5. @Tfp Tim I've checked my car archive and found these for you if you want to know a bit about your cars past pm me, don't worry nothing bad 👍

  6. Agreed, love the one I looked at during a meet 3 years ago now but the price was hefty, especially for the carbon one. The car is now where I expected it to be price wise and I imagine like the isf it will fall very slowly in depreciation from here on. At the current prices it is a mighty car in spec and performance and reliability for its age.

  7. It's not just the F variant any RC gets stared at, commented about. I regularly get stopped in car parks and asked about my car. The RC must be one of the best kept motoring secrets out there!

  8. What a transformation! On more serious note - I am sure many people get completely dumb-founded by RC-F... it is stunning looking car, but they have never seen it, nor heard about it... and because they are officially rarer then unicorns - the reactions are real...

  9. "those bloody Calibra modders nowadays - do they know when to stop?!"

  10. At the weekend, whilst filling up with fuel, a Merc coupe pulled in - one of the later generation turbo V8s. OMG - what a dirty noise - epic!! I can’t see an F ever competing with that sound. Mind you, when he tried to impress with a quick exit, the torque proved too much and the traction control but an instant stop to all his fun 😂 Edit: I will add, I spotted him taking several sneaky looks at the F - probably thought it was a Vauxhall Calibra!

  11. Cool. I had one on my 350z which really made a massive difference to noise as the milltek exhaust I had was too quiet. Trying to stick with what I know. If crap, will just put Tom's panel filter back in :-)
    2 points
  12. It opens up but you can’t hear the sound as clearly like you can with the stock setup. You don’t get the extra woosh of sound. Still sounds great.

  13. I’m sure that’s true & don’t get me wrong it’s not that big an issue that it would ever stop me buying an “F”. I never did get round to changing the exhaust on my ISF & they all sound brilliant over the 3.5k. It just seems strange when Mercedes AMG, Audi, BMW, Alfa etc all seem to manage it and they are the competition.

  14. IS F mesh wheels became a zero cost option in 2010, but I doubt many were specified with them.

  15. Yes, but that was in private, and this is a public forum

  16. The OEM pads show as having a friction material of Galfer 5032. Not sure if that means Brembo use Galfer material or they get Galfer to make the pads for them. Nothing else uses those pads, the LS460 may be the same size but different material is used.

  17. Grey and red ican be a great combination, but the Lexus red interior is too much for me, but each to their own 👍 Anyway, welcome to the club!

  18. @Chafford1 Drove one back last year on extended test it sounded good, played with one at Lexus Cheltenham only yesterday, they are lovely I just can't get my head round the spangly wheels, minor 1st world gripe. 🐀

  19. Welcome to the club & a very nice example👍🏻 First RCF I sat in was a similar but darker grey (I think) with the red interior and is a great combination. It was Lexus Woodford’s demonstrator & was back with them for sale when I was there for a service last August. I had arranged a test drive but unfortunately they sold it before I got the chance ☹️ I have always had a bit soft spot for the red leather seats!!

  20. I'm a bit undecided on the grey, but it does look good in those pictures. Enjoy your new toy !!!

  21. Oh wow, that'd be impressive. I've always loved rare cars, and ones that are just a bit different.

  22. Congrats. Very envious! The grey colour is my favourite. They tried to sell me the White one that they had in Nottingham but mileage was very high and not my preferred colour..

  23. I still think the IS200t is better than the IS250 though..... . *Patiently awaits another essay of Linas' opinion* not that it really matters because this is an ES/GS thread

  24. @DAW it was very good ta! I only live 3-4 miles away from the dealer but couldn't resist M4 drive so went for 50 miles drive with a huge grin on my face in manual all the way... I must say enjoyed every second of it and QS exhaust adds something special to RCF.

  25. @TfpWellcome to the forum Tim, forum requirement is pictures or instant ban Seriously though if you read through the Quicksilver threads you will see it is loud on a cold start but putting it in gear brings it down to OEM levels. Now the closest member to you that I know of is @Comedian drop him a pm. If you are serious about buying either pm me as I’ve struck up a good relationship with the M.D. there and can assist if you would like that. Big Rat

  26. @08ISF Graham as I understand it all Brembo is made in China nowadays, what isn’t, but my guys source gets them from Italy as you can see from the pics below. Im not surprised some dealers will not fit them they want the markup profits for OEM. I fully accept that and why not I have my own small business and business is business 😁 However if the aftermarket part I’m buying fulfills my needs for the fraction of the cost I know which direction I’m going in. My best guess is the OEM pads are also designed for some track work as well, I don’t track my cars so it’s not a consideration. Here is the box my last isF pads came in from them. Big Rat

  27. Sorry, it was me who got the grey one. I went to look at the orange Mustang but the RC-F just kept looking at me. I loved them when they were released, but didn't love the price. I was going to wait for the new Supra to arrive but got bored with the lack of info from Toyota. I'm still trying to work out all the systems, I'll be back with some questions I'm sure. Tim

  28. Lexus don’t listen to their customers Yes, stick a larger screen in the new RCF, yes offer some new colours, etc. BUT, how about sticking on a switchable exhaust!! Surely Lexus know how to do this?

  29. This is pretty much what I was thinking. Reduced ponies and torque on a car that needs both to compensate for weight. The update seems to be more eu regulation and enforced than by choice. If anything this makes the older models more desirable imo.

  30. Yes, full set refurbished, couldn’t believe the price so snapped them up! Sitting in the garage now ready to be swapped over for summer 😀

  31. Decided against H&S exhaust as almost as common as RCF's nowadays.... ;-) Taking one for the team and I have ordered an exhaust from Fox in Germany with black tips. Contacted them directly and got free shipping to the UK and 10% off the exhaust Also ordered a Takeda intake from the States. Bonus gone :-) Bring the noise :-) Will post relevant pics & vids once arrived and installed.

  32. Probably stupid question, but did your battery temp. sensor is connected/working. Seems like fault should be quite easy to diagnose with simple error code somewhere - it would drive me mental after few days driving with battery light.

  33. Nice. Look forward to hearing the clips and seeing some pics of the system. I liked the takeda intake but you do lose the second valve opening sound with it.

  34. @Flytvr You weren't as nice as that to me when I said I fancied one with a red interior........ you say you'd nail certain parts of my anatomy to a revolving door with one of my nail guns..........😳 🐀

  35. @Linas.P Linas I went to Hatfield to test that car the day I bought my Rcf from Cheltenham it was a response from the sales guy and his manager we've all heard " We don't give discounts we don't need to " not a penny off it needed 4 tyres which they wouldn't do "2mm is sufficient and within limits" Can I see the service history " Er um it's not complete yet we need to" Blah Blah Blah............As I'm walking away Looked nice but not for me and certainly not from them 🙄 Big Rat

  36. Doesn't the V8 LC500 have a louder exhaust?

  37. And on that note we (Linas included) await the formal unveiling of the ES later this month.

  38. I think heated seats were standard on all mk2 IS'es except SR, ventilated seats were options on Sport, SE and not available on F-Sport, IS-F and Advance. Only standard on SE-L, but most SE-i and SE with leather have it.

  40. As Brian said above, hydraulic tappets can lose their oil and is fairly normalish for older engines. I'm not sure if anything can be done about it or not.

  41. @08ISF I’ll pop in to the Motor Factors and speak with Sam when I get a minute, personally I still like this personal contact aspect and I’ll report back. As always with something as important as braking components I think it unlikely an over the counter Motor Factor like them or ECP selling complete rubbish, may not be 100% OEM quality but then neither are the prices. 42. @Flytvr That’s why Lexus got Quicksilver to develop both for the Rcf, my best guess is with the sales figures for these cars it was hardly cost effective for a major player to go your suggested route 🐀

  43. I Agree. RCF already has a lot of toys a standard anyway some of which I probably won’t use 😂 It’s horses for courses - there will always be people who really enjoying using all the toys, but equally there are also people like me who it’s not their main priority. I think there will always be a market for them, what ever the spec, as they are so rare anyway.🤞😉

  47. Well I’m late to the party and only thought thermostat, and won’t hurt changing the water pump and belts as well I case the impeller has gone what was the radiator like when you bought it, was it full? Mine was just full of water so I suspected a poor owner prior to me and changed everything (always planned too) and runs like a dream now

  48. Bumping my own post.... Takeda intake has left the States..... Excited. My update from Fox Exhausts is in German. Used Google Translate. Still no clearer. I think I may have ordered an exhaust from a Panzer IV. I know that schwarz is black so l think that at least means the tips are correct and black ;-)

  49. Things I like: almost everything Things I don't: The indicator lights are hidden by my hands in normal (10 to 2) driving position. The noise is also inaudible, so too often I've left them on after turns shallow enough to not trigger the self-cancel. My contempt for people who leave their flashers on is high, so I feel like a right berk when it happens When I'm listening to the radio, the display space for the song and band is so short that often I can't see who or what is playing. For example;2112 by Rush is just about OK, but In a gadda da vida by Iron Butterfly is well out of spec When switching on, it takes several menu interactions before I get the map up. I just want the map dammit 2.5 years in and I'm still not loving the touchpad. Teenagers seem to get it quickly, but then I comfort myself by knowing they won't ever get to see all the great bands in their prime (see above) ....and that's all...I think On a related note; I'm very pleased to see the emerging passion for the RCF from the ISF gang. It felt like there was some neutrality, or even skepticism, back in 2015 which caused me to doubt my choice. Now I feel in good company and feel like a man of impeccable taste
