just having a look at lextasy site

noticed colour coded earthing kits (thought they looked good)

couple of Qs

1. are they any good

2. what do they do

3. does any uk dealers do them

4. will is300 ones fit is200

yes i tried a search ,come up with nowt

1. I only know of the HKS one and yes it's good

to be honest i wouldnt bother wasting your money - you wont notice any difference. the kit is meant to provide extra " high quality" earthing points for the electrical system - total toss use a multi meter and put it to any metallic part and you resistance will be virtually zero or less.

im not sure if they are easily available in the Uk but i know one or two members have had them fitted. as for it fitting the IS200 - not sure but as it is just some lengths of plastic coated cable and a few bolts i dont see why not.

From the April issue of TurboMagazine (they tested the Sun Auto Hyper Ground System):

2002 Suzuki Aerio - Max RWHP gain - 3.9, Average RWHP gain - 1.48

2002 Honda S2000 - Max RWHP gain - 2.1, Average RWHP gain - 1.03

1995 Madza RX7 Twin Turbo - Max RWHP gain - 15.3, Average RWHP gain - 7.09

It's no big deal ..

Modern car wiring is made just big enough to do the job ...

usual rules apply ... cost saving, weight etc etc.

In some cases there may be a benefit in beefing it up.

Most likely are 'engine -> body' and 'body -> battery'.

No need to buy fancy kits ... except for the 'bling bling' value :zee:

Just beefing up (or doubling up) the existing cable will do the same.

Done this on several previous cars but as part of the ICE install.

I think it's bling-bling value out weigh's it's conductive performance.

Saying that, It looks bl**dy good, and adds to the overall under bonnet effect on show cars.,

im actually considering making up kits......when i get my mule is200 avilable again for testing stuff, i will look into a prototype kit

Hey Mat, did anything come of this? I nearly ordered off a kit today, but then thought i'd search first.

I installed a ground/voltage stabilizer kit this weekend.

Can't be certain of the improvements as i changed the air filter, oil filter, and oil at the same time. Engine definately appears to rev smoother, but this could just be the flush and renewed engine oil.

Nothing to do with the ECU losing its power supply and rebooting as part of the installation process, then? :huh:
