Hi Pete our basic shipping is £5.99 to mainland UK excluding highlands The extra £7.50 would be for an out of gauge fee which is on items over 1 meter (we get charged an extra £9.00) We try to be as transparent as possible with our pricing and with shipping we have no control over it, we charge what we get charged from our courier (DHL) Their prices have just gone up so we pay more than £5.99 per item but we take the hit on the remainder.

Hi Lee ... agree with Len, most definitely 245s on the rear and 225s on the front. You will surely notice a difference in handling once you've switched them over. I cannot imagine why they're on the wrong axles 😲 , steer well clear of the garage that did that! Agree with John too. The (91)(99) is the load index and relates to the recommended maximum carrying capacity so unless you're regularly filling your boot with seriously heavy luggage I might suggest that this index is almost irrelevant. That said, if you're using the car as a taxi (unlikely as the rear leg space isn't conducive nor is the economy) then perhaps (99) might be better than (91). As for brands ... you can't go wrong with Goodyear Eagles but shop around. Try BlackCircles.com for example ... (£64.39 front) (£114.70 rear) ... total £358.18 fitted.

I would love to say we can always do free shipping that would be fantastic, but as we discount all the parts already we don't have a big margin to absorb the shipping cost. I have done a quick comparison check against the ebay store for a boot mat we were £9 cheaper but then with our shipping charge we are £4 more expensive. Then I checked a few others and all our prices seem to be cheaper (some by a LOT) saw a RC shock absorber on the ebay store for £330.99 (with free shipping) our price is £277.60 (plus £5.99 shipping) but still massively cheaper. It will be the secondary cats which have been stolen, not the primary ones in the exhaust manifolds. Sami's pics show the secondary cats. It would be perfectly possible to fabricate replacement sections using universal cats for a 'modest' price - so £474 sounds quite reasonable. A good repair using universal cats would be OK for MoT - they just have to check that the exhaust is intact. Emissions are not tested on hybrids and anyway the secondary cats don't do much - most cars don't have them, after all. There are cat shields listed on ebay (some including fitting) specifically for GS models.

Fair enough. If it was me, I'd assume it a one-off and get a good local independent to check it all first and then fix what needed fixing...

I doubt it. The car was sold “as seen” by a private seller. The owner of the car was a member of this forum (LOC Sticker in the rear window) but he passed away and the car was sold by his family. The car has extensive history and drove fine on the test drive but this is a bit of a kick in the sensitives. £250 for a new rad and £230 for a condenser. I thought I was done fixing cars lol.

That's it folk have sold the IS250 today ☹️ been an amazing 9 years! I found the receipt last night it was exactly 9 years yesterday I bought her. Gutted to see her go, never left me down 1 day in my ownership. My next adventure with the IS300h starts on Saturday, cannot wait 😁

I think it comes up in writing on the multi-information display rather than an illuminated symbol. It will be listed with all the other warning messages near the back of the manual.

Cameras (or at least, hardwire kits) that have this facility usually also have an inline voltage sensor so that you can avoid this very situation, like the one for my Viofo A129 Duo shown below:

That's what it says in the specification for the premium plus pack. Otherwise it would say Tahara, as it does in the lower spec packs

I've only been a Lexus owner for 14 months so am a relative newbie BUT I did notice on my car's MOT history before I bought it ... and I kid you not :- "Front tyre(s) of different sizes are fitted on the same axle" "Rear tyre(s) of different sizes are fitted on the same axle" Obviously a FAIL! So beware, there are some right numpties out there looking after vehicles ... 🙄

Originally luxury cars such as Roll Royce, Mercedes etc would have had cloth seats in velvet or soft wool for the passengers. Only the driver/chauffeur would sit on leather!

The original owner posted on here about it back in the day. If I remember correctly, his business owned or leased a fleet of Lexus vehicles, so after some arguing Lexus took the car back. My brakes occasionally squeak. It’s well documented on here and is relatively ‘normal’ on the RCF and GSF running OEM pads. I think there are issues with the LC too.

It is being done for excuse of it, but mostly for cost cutting. It is undeniable that making seats from recycled plastic bags is cheaper than from real leather. From practical point of view it is actually hard to say what is more practical to have - leather of vinyl, but from point of view of "luxury" it is undeniable that leather is more "premium/expensive/exclusive" material than plastic. The problem is that people want to have their cake and eat it too - they want luxury car, but they want to pretend they care for environment. If they really care about environment then they wouldn't be buying brand new luxury SUV. So companies creates this "eco-friendliness" illusion so that people can feel better about it and saves a lot of money too. I found it annoyingly fake and disingenuous, in old days you either had "luxury" car with leather option or you had a plain simple cloth. Now it seems all cars have leather, but 50% (and increasing) is now fake. In other hand if we would keep the cars for 10-20 years I don't see issue using real leather, after all it is almost by product of meat production (thought they may want to take this pleasure away too), however in our consumer world, most new car buyers changes the cars every 2-3 years at which point it is probably fair to question if the leather actually adds any value and if that is sustainable. Lexus started introducing this with CT, later IS, RC, ES and NX lower trim levels all came with Tahara "leather" which is fancy name for vinyl and the only way to still get real leather is to order Takumi or F-Sport. The only good thing is that when you get leather in Lexus it is at least very nice semi-aniline leather.

I've seen Road Angel advertise that some of their cameras have an ice clearing mode, so the camera can still record while parked if the screen ices up.

I just wonder if the relay it's complaining about is on the ECU board. Maybe if an electronics guru can replace the relay it would all be hunky-dory again, saving over 2 grand. Reminds me of when I repaired the ABS unit on my old Volvo. The wires to the pump had dry joints ( a know fault with them) so I cracked the case open and resoldered the wires and was back to normal within hours. The quote from Volvo for the ABS unit was about the same too.

Much like reducing the use of plastic in food packaging etc, the diminishing use of leather in car interiors seems to be something of an industry trend that's probably here to stay and become even more prevalent. Basically its being done on the grounds of sustainability & eco-friendlness, rather than cost-cutting. Volvo even use it as a selling point. In a few years, it'll probably be demonised as much as having a diesel engine, so enjoy your leather seats whilst you still can. 🙂

Yep definitely coolant. Camera doesn’t pick it up very well but it definitely has a pink tinge to it. I can only assume there is a hole in the radiator, behind the condenser, and it’s just weeping through.

I would recommend to keep this turned on and get used to this. For me, this felt annoying in the beginning but once I got used to it I drive with the assurance that the car will prevent me from possibly taking a wrong decision. False negatives are harmless really. I can still force the car to do what I think is right but I'd rather have that "safety net" in place at all times. --E

Talking about cat theft on a Prius.. This happened last week in a town in the Netherlands. Thief was operating alone jacked the Prius up crawled under the car and started cutting off the cat. Apparently due to the movement the car fell off the jack falling on the thief and killing him. Next morning the owner of the Prius walked to his car and noticed two legs from under his car. He first thought some tramp was sleeping there so kicked his legs only to find out it was a corpse. Anyway, pic is from when the police arrived.

Are you certain that it's coolant? It looks like water to me. Coolant normally has a red/pink tinge to it (or green/blue for some systems). If the previous user didn't use the correct coolant, then the water will have caused corrosion and you will need a new radiator. It shouldn't have affected the air-con condenser though as they are separate systems.

I've actually written to them yesterday and waiting for their reply. It'll be interesting what they say. In that video that guy has everything working plus in another video shows how to put 4 cameras around the car which when set up shows full 360 views.

Your looking at around £70.00 from a UK dealer (extortionate) but if you can wait a while around a third of that from Amayama shipped assuming it is the sensor that is causing the fault.

Damn .. that's one less from the choice 🤣🤣🤣

Try lubricating the rubber door seals. You can order stuff on line to do this. A quick easy thing to do which might resolve this.

I like the idea of the garden sprinkler to hose under the car. I don't have a level driveway unfortunately so difficult to even slightly raise the vehicle. I've also seen on the Forensic Detailing Channel on YouTube, John there also recommend if you have a Karcher jet wash K series to use their patio cleaner attachment and flip it upside down under the car! 👍🏽

The above from Toyota /Lexus will get the actual catalytic converter marked. Getting an official Catloc through your local Lexus dealership will include the Catloc itself being marked and then guidance to get that registered through the ISR (International Security Register). SelectaDNA kits allow you to yourself mark various parts of your own car and then use the included guide to register your vehicle. SelectaDNA also have other kits available for home items, bikes etc. There are other different kits available out there. If it wasn't for the Lexus Owners Club, I would never have been aware about the catalytic converter thefts out there. Therefore there's lots of options for fellow LOC members!

Yes, definitely direct-injection. The injectors are also audible when the engine is running - a faint ticking sound, so don't worry if you hear that. It's normal.

Hello @StGeorge your vehicle's unit is exactly the same is mine. i.e. CY17. It supports AA/AC. Refer to page 4 and page 6 of this post, where i posted images of my unit's software version (earlier releases). In a nut shell you would need series of updates before the final AA/AC update is applied. From bitter experience, i'd recommend paying the dealer to update unit so you are covered in case something gets kaput! Software update process was never consistent! In summary your version numbers are earlier releases of the software. Attaching an image from my vehicle ,which I just took -shows my unit with AA/AC software update release.

2022 models will turn on LTA each time you power up the vehicle - it won't remember the previous state. Turning the LTA system OFF Press and hold the LTA switch The LTA indicator light turns off when the LTA is turned OFF. Press the switch again to turn the system on. The LTA is turned ON each time the power switch is turned to ON. However, the lane centering function keeps either the ON/OFF state prior to the power switch being turned OFF. I wonder if lane centering has been improved for 2022? The previous versions were ok up to maybe 50 mph by which point it cannot cope and you end up bouncing from one side of the lane to the other down the road.

It’s going to be an insurance job for sure, the cats (x2) are part of the exhaust manifolds ( see prices below) plus if they have cut the flanges on the centre exhaust system you will need one of these too, looking at around £4000.00 plus labour! If you’ve been quoted just £474 they’ll be straight pipes not cats.

Would be interesting to see if it was sold to a dealer and then reappears for sale with a more complete service history and "fixed" gear shift issues.

One thing to look at After a test drive is feel the rear wheels both sides. If they're mad hot then the calipers are sticking/seized. A regular thing with our is250 cars unfortunately. If they are mad hot then one of two things. Tell the seller to get the calipers sorted or walk away as a 100 mile trip with hardly any rear brakes is a no no. Sorry to sound negative but it had to be stated. Hopefully the rear brake calipers will be ok and you go home in a luxury small saloon. Which spec of car is it you're going to see?

Just an update I got a reply from the auction house and they are looking into my access problem and they have informed me that they have a NX coming in soon and would I like the details. I replied "Yes" I would love an NX if my budget would stretch that far lol and I asked if he could let me know how much the RX 400h sold for in the end. Cheers John

You can make a replacement with a length of stainless threaded rod and a couple of ball joints (eg ebay item 323993244156) (Search ball joint m6 or m8)

Happy new year people!. Doing my “homework” and getting it all worked out…slowly but surely. So far, it’s had a 2inch drop on all corners. Can’t go any lower than that. Got a hunter alignment too. Always went with springs when it came to lowering but decided to go the coilover route this time. Loving the height and damping adjustability options. Here’s a pic of how she currently sits.

The main thing I do is apply Collinite Insulator Wax #845 to the wheels (double application the first time) and the skirts, bumpers and boot area, repeating every 6-8 weeks depending on severity of weather. Dirt and (if present) salt then come off easily with a plain-water jetwash.

Wash, top up the polymer wax protection. But more important than the prep is what you do in winter conditions when there's salt. Spray down (jet wash) with just water, DI if the station has it, paint wheels and undercarriage, once a week. Learnt that in Salt Lake City where for months out of the year the high is below zero, and the flipside is it hits 40C in summer.

That is well overpriced for a car with issues. The error could be anything, I'd not even consider it without ALL the above issues been fixed including the VSC light. However do remember on the older GSes, check to see if these parts have been replaced: Exhaust Shocks Traction Battery (for H models) as at some point they are very likely to go on older GSes. The exhaust is about £800 to replace when it goes (or 2.2k from lexus) and the shocks are about £800 EACH from lexus or about £400 each for a non-standard non-adjustable version. The 300 uses the cheaper shocks anyway and I think the 300's shocks less likely to go as soon as its a bit lighter car. You can get a non-standard replacement hybrid battery from Hybrid battery solutions for about £2k. So if you do get an older GS, make sure you have the spare change to address these issues as they arise.
