Not that I purchased them.

Apparently the drivers one can "slip forward under specific driving conditions and interfere with the accelerator pedal" or so it states in the letters' first para.

Is this a blanket letter to all I wonder?

PS the affected part number = PZ414-C0353-RJ ON THE UNDER SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE ONLY. Other part numbers are NOT affected

Deja Vu! I remember a similar recall on the IS200 in about '99/'00.

Scott had some - they do just sit on top, and I remember him complaining that they slid forward. I don't think the hooks quite get to the rubber ones, not enough length in the shaft (as the actress said to the....).

I've got some Ford ones which fit almost perfectly and I only use in the Winter...which I have held in place using Croc clips attached to the carpet ones undernath. Works a treat.

I'm a bit of a BRIGHT SPARK when i get going matey  :P

:offtopic: Sorry for hijacking the thread chaps. Blame Bulbman. I won't continue this poor humour.... I've seen the light.

Back on topic -

It must have cost a fortune in post alone. Unless its for future mat purchases as well - we all know now.

Nothing received here either, has happened to me once though, wife tooks mats out to clean them and never secured them through the eyelets, got to top of the street and pedal jammed in Mat... Of course it was my fault due to my size 10's :)

These were purchased when car was new last August and what makes it worse the car was in for a week and no mention of the mats when I picked the car up..... Just wait till I get this letter..

Yep, and my drivers rubber mat now serves time in the boot due to the couple of times it almost killed me. Mine didn't have any clips and used to creep forward and then get trapped between brake and accelerator. What was bad was that it stopped the accelerator from returning so you go to brake, take foot of accelerator, press brake which was covered by mat and find accelerator was stuck, pretty scary the couple of times it happened.

This happened to me twice, the accelerator pedal stuck on when I was lifting off to go into a corner. Stuck in the clutch and it hit the limiter for a few seconds then released. The mats do have a place to put the hook in but if i remember right i think i had to make a hole through the thin piece of rubber. Not had a letter though

Welcome back Scott!! Hope you're well!!

If the one you now use as a boot liner has the poduct code on it, then I'm sure they will replace it for one that actually works.

I have been following this thread with some interest, but until yesterday, thought this recall was only affecting the IS. But as an RX owner we got ours yesterday: 1st Class recorded :P I wonder how much it cost them?

I doubt the recall will affect us as we have carpet trimmed Lexus OE mats and these are the rubber ones.

I've had one too. First class recorded delivery* too. You'd have thought LGB would have a database to tell them what accessories they sold the car with.

*I thought I'd been caught speeding or something as I had to go the the SO to pick it up. :)

Thanks Jamboo, sporadic visits as I'm up to my neck trying to deliver a government software project. I will be going back to Lexus soon for mat replacement and a new set of alloys - mine are now corroded. Also, my recent iPod installation is not so hot, it seems to lose the connection on bumpy roads and I have to pull over, stop the engine, re-attach the connector, re-start and be on my way. It's a hard life being a Lexus driver :)
