Do You Suit Your Car?

the common conception of an LS lexus driver is an old man who's retired and pootles around town holding everyone up!

i think the IS conception is someone who knows about good cars but doesn't want to get a common 3 series?

the GS is for the people who 'know' about cars.

i'm a young at heart 35 year old who's into extreme sports, has a trendy hair cut, wears shorts and flip flops all year round and is covered in tattoos.....yet i drive a bog standard black '97 LS400 in black........when its parked in tesco car park and i saunter up to get in it i see people double take!!

i dont think i fit in to what people expect an LS400 driver to be?

do you suit your car?

Matt

Umm, I'm 25, think fashion is just something for other people, hairdo - well, depends which way the wind is blowing, likes sensible family hatchbacks and I drive a bog standard 2005 IS. I think I suit my car quite well, although I think I would probably suit a Hyundai or Kia better!!!!

The way I drive (like a ****), I suit my Nova more than the Lex, but sadly that image is no good when im visiting sites and clients, so the Lex was a concious attempt at an image change/boost. I just make sure I keep the 4 wheels traveling in the same direction as the road when Im out on business.

Im 31 and drive a black LS430. People must think that a)I've nicked it, b)it's my dads car, c)I work for the mafia or d)it's a funeral car. Either way, I'm fairly sure that no one thinks it's mine. I do like the way people do look at me when I park up though. I've always liked that presence that the LS430 has.

people will either think i stole it, its dads or both!

i love the fact that the car is so underestimated!

I think I suit my car, I don't wear shirts and ties anymore, just casual dress, i'm not a boy racer tho, and I saved a lot of money to buy the car, I could have settled for a escort/astra etc, but I wanted a nicer car as I feel i deserved to treat myself

Well now.......I'm certainly old; the clock keeps ticking and you eventually find yourself there!. But I've spent the last 30 years self employed, running a unique cafe in Bristol (Royce Rolls Cafe) so have been able to please myself how I looked. Long hair (child of sixties) though slightly shorter now, LOUD!!! hawaiian shirts all summer....can't even REMEMBER how a tie works now (really!!)

But, I AM retired, but certainly don't tootle around slowly. Cruise.....but in an LS that usually means "Whoops!!! too fast'!! as it's so smooth!

Really, I'm a Citroen DS person, but having got used to the LSs perfection, can't imagine changing. (Drove a DS recently; like a tank in comparison, though still love the looks and ride.)

So, I guess it takes all sorts.

LS owners? Just have style and discernment!!

I think he is trying to say that he has fitted a rather nice set of big wheels wrapped in those very thin tyres that you and me couldn't handle at our age, he has also lowered it, again probably too low for our old backs to get in and out, he has also fitted a rather large and rorty exhaust pipe that would deafen us and I believe the last bit is that he thinks it looks like a dogs testicles....LOL

Not our cup of tea old boy but wouldn't the world be boring if we all wanted the same....

Pete (44: old, decrepit, grumpy git!!)

To be fair, I'm 25 and didn't understand a word Russ said either, so don't feel too bad!!!
