Sincere condolences Tony. Its frustrating that its a ticking time bomb, with no way to stop it. 65 is quite a young age to go.

Wish you and your family and those around you the best to get through this sad event.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss Tony............. condolences to you and your family. Nothing new I can add since it has all been said before, but time is a great healer.

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories were a lane,

I would walk right up to heaven

to bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken

no time to say goodbye

you were gone before I knew it,

and only God knows why.

My heart still aches in sadness

and secret tears still flow,

what it meant to lose you,

no one will ever know.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and the pm's.

My situation is something we will all go through.... it kin hurts!! but nevertheless it happens, my real scream is that cancer killed (murdered) her and that really hurts because it wasn't her time to go but cancer decided it's time to wrench mum away from us and i cannot punch that disease to vent my anger... i want to hit it :crybaby:

Cancer research offers some hope for others and i will support that passionately but for now?........ i'm so, so low and miss my mum.

Mate, there is nothing I can say that is not already on this thread.

I really feel for you.

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories were a lane,

I would walk right up to heaven

to bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken

no time to say goodbye

you were gone before I knew it,

and only God knows why.

My heart still aches in sadness

and secret tears still flow,

what it meant to lose you,

no one will ever know.

This poem brought back my own memories and I'm on the verge of crying now myself!

To think I was ****** off yesterday about smashing up my Lexus, really puts things in perspective doesn't it.

So sorry for your loss.

this was read at my mothers funeral as it was her wish,it helped loads,i hope it does the same for you and your family

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.

Please, please don't mourn for me

I'm still here, though you don't see.

I'm right by your side each night and day

and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.

I'm everything you feel, see or hear.

My spirit is free, but I'll never depart

as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-

I'm the brightest star on a summer night.

I'll never be beyond your reach-

I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around

and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.

I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,

The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,

The first warm raindrop that April will bring.

I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,

and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,

you can talk to me through the Lord above you.

I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,

and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep

and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.

I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.

Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

So sorry to hear the sad news Tony

Nothing can prepare us in losing a loved one I'm just glad we can all be here to hopefully help you through this tough time, and I doubt very much there are many dry eyes after reading through this thread and the poems so you're definately not alone.

Its good that you can cry better to let it out than bottle it up

Having lost my Mum 13 years ago when she was 70, and I was just 32 - having been a full time carer to her for 4 years, after my Dad died aged 74, I can empathise with you somewhat.

Thoughts are with you and all those affected by your loss.

As a counsellor, I can offer the following.

Have a damn good cry - you are allowed to.

Don't apologise or feel guilty for doing so.

Cry again.

Write down the bad times, and then tear the paper up and throw it away. That will get rid of the negatives, and stop you festering on them.

Concentrate on the good times, and cherish them.

Time heals, but slowly

Remember you are as much a part of your loved ones, as they were of you, and so, in that respect they live on.

Hope this helps, a little.

Sorry to hear this Tony, can't say I can even begin to know what your going through but I do have some idea having lost loved ones to this horrid disease, if more people supported cancer research as myself and my family do then maybe one day people wouldn't have to go through this.

Regards Andy.
