  1. 4kwh is reserved for hybrid operation and is not accessible for EV operation so when you have 0 EV miles you will see the traction battery still has 30% charge. This 4kwh is continually maintained during HV operation.

  2. I think on drivers door panel there is a mirror button which if illuminated (auto) will auto fold mirrors. (Button on the left of this manually folds in mirrors.) Press this button and mirrors will remain out. (hopefully 😀)

  4. I've always hated car alarms. I used to live in a terraced house in Chelmsford and behind us was a 100 space car park. Getting a decent nights sleep was damned near impossible due to the plethora of car alarms going off whenever there was a bit of wind. I actually threatened one guy after he reset his ****ing alarm for the 3rd time at 3am. I told him if he didn't disable his car alarm, I would disable it, and the car, permanently. They are mostly a waste of space anyway as nobody reacts to them any more. You are far better off to get a system that notifies you that your car is being stolen, but does so silently.

  5. Well the LS tried to test me.... It lost, cant alarm without an alarm! I am not fussed in the slightest about not having an alarm, the car locks and no one is going to try and steal a 25 year old Lexus. I can also confirm the speaker is in the offside wheel arch behind the indicator. Glad the car is back to its quiet self again.

  6. Delayed onset of conditions like a pneumothorax is relatively rare but can occur, especially with chest injuries. It's important to monitor any chest trauma, no matter how minor it seems, for symptoms like pain, difficulty breathing, or a persistent cough. If these symptoms occur, seek medical attention promptly. Preventive measures include being cautious in potentially hazardous environments and wearing appropriate safety gear

  8. I think strictly speaking they are doing pre alpha level testing (these bugs are found within seconds of starting the app and any developer should see them immediately) but in a beta test (live user) environment. Crazy. Paul

  9. Hi everyone Last time I spotted a LOC club member IRL whilst cruising in London it turned out to be @H3XME . So here I am trying my luck again... A couple of days ago I had the pleasure of driving next to an Lexus IS250 in Birmingham, near the Five Ways roundabout, towards Ladywell (just past the casino) (purple colour I think?) It sounded pretty amazing - at first I thought it was an ISF but when it drove past it defo sounded like forced induction. Beautiful tail lights on the back as well - never got to see the front cos I was too slow The best bit was the little 'race' we had at the traffic lights I think your plate number was R888 SWC? So quite possibly a fellow Asian bro with lucky digits like that Would love to know more about your setup!

  12. I've not got the answer either, sorry. About 3 years ago, only one of the doors locked on one of my 400s, I got 3 lock motors replaced and a new battery for the key and they've worked ever since. The lock button for my other 400 doesn't work, but if I press the unlock button when I get out, it waits a minute and if no doors are opened it locks them all for me:o) I've attached some advice on reprogramming LS400 keys that I found previously, but I'd not even think about that until you've tried everything else. 1999 Lexus LS400 Remote Programming.docx

  14. My favorite... difficult choice. The 64xke and the 356c Porsche happened 50 years ago so any pain associated with those cars has long since vanished. I can only remember that I thoroughly enjoyed owning such machines in my 20s. How could I not? I purchased my next sporty car in my early 50s and it was '91 MR2 Turbo. That was indeed a sporty car. Light, agile, and everything about the car just fit. As they say "everything falls to hand". Bulletproof Toyota dependability and just an ideal car for US roads. Quick but not stupid fast as was the MR2s' replacement. It ranks very high on my car list. The MR2 begot another Porsche, a 997s. I never really came to like that car. To complex with all the driver 'enhancements' and WAY too fast to enjoy how fast it could be. Fine for tracking but wasted on the street. And... you only get about 8000 miles out of a set of $600 rear tires. Not for me. My current car is the '24 LC500. It has all the driver 'enhancements' of the Porsche but for whatever reason I now rather enjoy them. It doesn't seem to me to be a car that I want to rocket around in. Rather I motor serenely about above the crowd and I quite like it there. My age and memory forbid me from choosing my favorite. My 20s were so long ago I can't reliably judge those cars and the newer cars, less the 997, were (are) exceptional. Even the Porsche was exceptional I suppose, just not for me. That said the MR2 with the manual trans was the most enjoyable drivers car. But an LC with a manual transmission would likely top the list. All-in-all, when dollars are considered, it's hard to beat the MR2 but for an old man with enough money, I'll take the LC. Life is good. (If you're lucky)

  15. Or, as I did, buy a new Range Rover and be virtually guaranteed to have a few ‘issues’. That said, I’ve had a few issues in my new RZ !

  16. I also used remote climate this morning Ken. The new app doesn't allow you to choose the length of time you want to pre-heat, or at least I couldn't find an option. Also, I haven't done it myself yet but I once read a tip whereby lowering the sun blinds helps direct more of the warm air to the windscreen.

  17. Definitely seems to be a huge dip in prices this month, perhaps it's just seasonal?. I have been dipping my toe in the water to sell my LC500 as it's not getting the use it should lo justify keeping it. It's a Red 2019 LC V8 with 3369 miles on it and "better than showroom" condition. I thought I'd start by calling the dealer I purchased it from as they're aware of it's amazing condition and I thought they might like it back. But I hadn't even finished my sentence or got to a price I had in mind when the guy on the other end of the phone said "Nope, don't want it, thanks for calling, goodbye". Hmm, nice. On their website they have just 1 LC in stock across the entire group franchise at the moment. I then tried a number of those "we buy your car now" things and surprisingly many of them didn't want it either. Those that did give prices were ridiculously low and still subject to change on inspection. I tried to P/X at a BMW dealer and they didn't want to touch it "there's no market for big V8 engined cars at the moment, sorry.." Seems like a great time to buy but terrible time to sell so I'll probably keep it for a while to see if things perk up. If the other thread I posted about LC production ending for Europe early next year is true I wonder if that will help prices for low mileage, mint examples. Time will tell.

  18. I once had a very bruised sternum and the camp doctor asked me could I attribute it to anything I had done recently. I recounted my throw from a horse called Fred 16 hands and a get together with a Wraf from Hereford. He sympathised as he knew the Wrafs from Hereford.

  21. You need to adjust the pressures to account for the drop in temperature, don't just wait for the temperatures to increase!
    1 point
  22. This is a strange one. I had the tyre, valve and seal checked over at my local tyre store. Nothing found. Yesterday morning, -3c, tpms comes on. Pressure dropped to 0.5 bar. I inflated the tyre to 2.2 bar. This morning, -5c.....tyre still 2.2...no air lost. I`ve been running around all morning, no pressure drop. I recently purchased a wireless inflator from AliExpress. No cables. Xiaomi is the manufacturer.Slightly bigger and fatter than a mobile phone. It inflates my "flat" in around 8 minutes and still retains 2/3 of the battery power. Recharges by USB C. Impressive gadget.

  23. "The issue of the flat seems to have coincided with a drop in air temperature. I know cold air contracts". I have noticed this happening whenever we have a prolonged cold spell. My Runflats have to date never dropped below 2 Bar fortunately. This winter will be the first time the car has been parked in a carport and not a Garage so I think I may see a bigger drop. I am still a fan of both RF and the TPMS. I also carry a small air compressor, just in case. Regards

  25. Last night's overnight charge in temperatures of minus 2 predicting 51.3/45.6. Battery was 100% depleted. Actual from the previously indicated 44.9 was a miserable 31.

  26. There must be some parasitic drain on your battery for it to discharge so much. I have a 2007 Rx400h and it was still using the original factory fitted 12 volt battery until earlier this year when I had to replace it after 15 years of usage. Even before replacement I could quite happily leave it for four weeks whilst we were on holiday and it would start just fine upon our return.

  29. 'Cold' just means at ambient temperatures i.e. the car hasn't been driven. First thing in the morning is when I tend to check mine, before setting off. Pressures will naturally rise and fall depending on the outside temps, going up in the summer , down in the winter. Which is why one is recommended to check and adjust if required on a weekly basis.

  30. Another here for Bilt Hamber. My son put me onto their products some years ago and unless he finds something better I'll not change my allegiance. Even my wife uses one of their products i.e. Surfex and swears it is the best at about everything cleaning related and I'm inclined to agree! From what I recall, much of their product is natural/organic and while that very often means poor performance, then not so with BH and in fact quite the opposite. As ever, "horses for courses" and Autoglym is my go to when BH has nothing to offer.

  31. My old volvo app was pretty much flawless from day 1 in 2017. Admittedly is had 2 years of dev time by then but this was 6 years ago on a platform nearly 8 years old now. used to get an alert saying doors were unlocked when they actually were and outside temperature so you could decide if it needed heating up in the morning. As so many people are experiencing the same bugs it is surprising that this doesn’t seem to have been tested further before releasing. It seems like Lexus are developing this on a live environment and this is still very much a beta app.

  32. Don’t know if this might help as you have the Mk4 Alarm on the Mk3 turns right down to zero ……. the fixing is under the front centre console , just in front of that centre arm rest ….. where the gear shift is ….. be very careful not to damage the area Otherwise I’m clueless, sorry Malc

  33. I have covered over 16000 miles on 20inch run-flats and have no complaints regarding ride quality or noise levels. Previously ran a NX300H on 18inch no run flats and honestly think they are very comparable overall. Downside is cost of replacement of run flats. Had to replace one tyre recently and it cost £364. That said my journey was uninterrupted!

  35. I've always had trip information but for me it constantly reports all the doors are unlocked despite them not being and this was something that worked fine initially. I can't believe how flakey the whole thing is with totally different problems between model are year of cars.

  36. Mind you, I’m also losing interest in F1 for similar reasons. These days the place to see really competitive on-track racing is at a Touring Car event. Better still, a Classic Car meet with the heady aroma of Castrol R! Agree strongly with both of you. The very very few Formula E(ugh) races I've bothered to watch and stay awake through are as boring as hell.It sounds like I've left the hoover running in the hall. The very limited coverage of Goodwood Revival was more interesting than the whole F1 season.Maybe the odd numbered cars should race clockwise and the evens anticlockwise.

  37. Historic GP is fantastic as well. The wide spread of machines from 12 to 4 cylinders from the fifties all the way up to the seventies. Big suicidal ( in my view) CanAm thundermachines. When they fly by you feel it in your bones and hope all goes well. The Danger. E grand Prix is a clinical non event that nobody asked for. Vegan burger anyone?

  38. I’ve only occasionally stumbled across TV transmissions of E-Races, but I think these two comments neatly summarise the underwhelming nature of E-Racing. I don’t know if this is always the case, but the ones I’ve seen have all been street circuits. The problem there seems to be that the racing is mainly confined to nose-to-tail circulation, punctuated by the occasional collision or off-circuit excursion. All the time the degree of spectator involvement and emotive association appears to be akin to that of an electric lawnmower as they hum around the circuit. Mind you, I’m also losing interest in F1 for similar reasons. These days the place to see really competitive on-track racing is at a Touring Car event. Better still, a Classic Car meet with the heady aroma of Castrol R!

  41. Bluetooth Dial Up Networking protocol is old now, not sure all the latest phones still support it and the Lexus Connected Services implementation was always flaky at best. Personally I wouldn't bother even trying to get it working. You are better off just using your smartphone to search for anything on the web and for navigation with up to date maps and traffic info. Here's another thread on the subject which may help:

Hi goodyears should not give problems ,I am a fan of these myself ; my next move would be a 2 nd opinion on wheel alignment and balance .I have had problems in the past with tyre places not capable of doing a proper job .Look on the Align my Car website to find a specialist close to you ,they usually have Hunter equipment and also know how to use it !! good luck Dave

  44. I thought run-flats couldn't be repaired? I have a slow puncture dropping to 1.9 from 2.3 in a week. Funny thing though. I parked my car whilst on holiday for 2 weeks and returned to find the tyre still indicating 2.3 . The issue of the flat seems to have coincided with a drop in air temperature. I know cold air contracts.

  45. I drove from Birmingham to Wigan today (79 miles) and stayed around 55 to 65MPH with climate control set on 20C and got 63 MPG! I did stay behind some HGV trailers on the route to use their slipstream, seemed to work!

  46. For me, changing the tyres wasn’t because I dislike runflats, it’s because I need all season tyres for Peak District winters. They’ve made the difference between me getting home or abandoning ship like so many others. Of course, I’ve been lucky so far they haven’t completely blocked the road and I’ve got through.

  47. A very interesting account, Brent, and a good demonstration of how Run Flats and the TPMS combined to identify the slow leak and keep you mobile until it could be repaired. As you say, these are trade-offs against the reportedly noisier and firmer ride of RFs. It maybe that you were also fortunate that it was a rear tyre so the handling and steering were less affected than might have otherwise been the case. Without the TPMS - and with the firmer sidewalls of the RFs - the loss of pressure might not have been so visibly obvious that it would alert you to the slow leak in the first place. Occasionally I see accounts from Posters who find the warnings from the TPMS irritating and difficult to resolve and ask about disabling it. I think your experience is a very good example of how that’s not such a good idea!

  49. My Lexus often has the same problem - and it dates from 2015! So that’s a bit disappointing to hear. I solved it by using my Garmin satnav instead. Assuming that there’s no clue in the satnav Manual for the car - which can be a challenging read - I’d be inclined to go back to the Dealer and request an in-depth walkthrough of the satnav system with one of the Sales Team. Ensuring that all the car’s systems work as specified - and that they have been fully explained to you - is one of their responsibilities.

  50. I get between 2.8 and 3.4 dependent on how long I'm driving for / speed. I don't keep anything like AC off etc. As for the tyres I'd expect around 16-17k max. It's a 2 tonne car and my RX goes through them at this rate so nothing unusual
