  1. You might like this Malc.......... I've just spent a few months in the USA. One day I saw this old gentleman getting out of an immaculate black LS 400. We got talking and he told me that he had bought it brand-new, in 1994, from a dealer in his home town of Amarillo. He bought it on his 69th birthday !!!! Now 92 years old, it is still his daily-use car. He was in the middle of a 2,000 mile round trip to visit his daughter. It had 180,000 miles on the clock and he calls it his 'LFT' - Lexus from Texas. He still gets it serviced at the dealership where he bought it. He told me that, last year, while picking up his car after servicing, a young salesman tried to interest him in an upgrade to a 460/600. He said something like.....'Thanks son, but I'll stick to the 400. After all, the engine is only just getting loosened up'. So, as long as you can keep idiots from doing any damage, you should be OK for a few years yet'

  4. Hello. Before I sell my car I have changed the LEDs on the speedo/rpm meters. One of the oem white LEDs had gone so I set about reading on DIY fixes but all the DIY guides out there had been sharing their pics online and those pics are not available any more. So I did a video on it. I changed the lights to blue, that looks really nice at night and I think is similar to what's used in IS-F. This is my first video guide on youtube ever so its long, boring and got mistakes in it. But hopefully some part of this guide will help another Lexus owner somewhere one day. Cheers

  5. Firstly I would like to say that I don't no the person or have anything to do with the company selling this product i don't, no do any of my friends or family make this product I just thought I would let you all no of a cheep product that would help keep you pride and joy safer. after reading on this form about potential theft of our loved Lexus cars, and how they can now use a detector from out side your house and scan for your keys anywhere in your house I decided do give this product a go, and can say that it works perfectly, once the keys were in the pouch I stood next to the car and the boot and doors would not open, I took the keys out of the pouch, got in the car, put the keys back in the pouch and the car would not start, ( a message saying " Keys not detected ). I brought 2 of this , one for my spare set of keys and one for my general use keys. At less then £3 each I think it was a very good buy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Keyless-Key-Entry-Fob-Guard-Signal-Blocker-Faraday-Bag-Version-for-Phone/232535957664?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

  9. Hi All, I have been for my test drive. The car was new in and they had not had chance to Prep it. So it was good to see it in its raw state. It has 28,004 miles, 4 owners, FLSH, a few minor scratches/marks, and a few stone chips on the body work. It drove very well with roof up and down, no bangs or rattles. It also has ML upgrade. The car is dark grey and it has black leather. After a lot of haggling and walking away from the deal, a better deal was offered me, and I have put down a deposit and pick it up soon. Hopefully the weekend. Depending on how long it takes the check it over and put it through the body shop to look at marks and stone chips.

  10. I see that H&S have designed and are now selling a cat back bolt on system for the RCF, I know H&S are popular on here with us IsF devotees may be worth a look for some. There are two different tip styles I've attached the link for both styles, I prefer the round myself looks a bit more OEM whilst the one in the YouTube vid is reminiscent more of an isF 🐀 https://www.haywardandscott.com/lexus/lexus-rcf.html

  11. Well done Paul you got further than I did with them. Lexus told me about their exhausts at Goodwood, but when I called they said there were not enough cars / interest to make it worth their while to do it for the ISF.

  15. I expected it would be ok for many weeks so will definitely be getting dealer to check battery I have a dashcam with parking record but it's supposed to shut down if battery low and it's not caused flat battery before on any other vehicle Now I'm taking advantage of preheated Mitsy with heated steering wheel etc I'm planning to attach ctek anyway to rc I should add only used ctek on RRS and DS because I did a lot of short trips which meant auto stop/start function only worked if I kept battery maintained - same for on-board tv and timed climate

  16. absolutely BUT I am quite aware that a relatively minor " smack " will easily write the old lady off ...... my Mk2 was vandalised, written-off back in 2011 .......... if that was to happen I might actually let the moths out of my wallet and spend some of my ££££ new cost was emerging at about £110k I believe ....... 10 years old probably do a deal at about £9/10k with FULL Lexus Service History and a new MOT ................ piece together replacement hybrid battery stuff and air struts probably when the time comes, and then might well last similar to my legendary Mk3 Ls400 ....... and I'm otherwsie expecting up to 500k miles with no serious issues ........ apart from me then being a bit gaga ( or am I already ) Malc

  17. I've had my aristo since 2008 with limited usage, 30,000 Kms covered. I love the way it looks, in standard form just look at it as a blank canvas to alter to your liking & get that thought out of your head, It's a special car with limited numbers. Parts are easily accessible from Lexus or Toyota dealers & with a few little bpu tweeks can reach around 400hp, aftermarket parts do crop up from time to time on the bay of e & club members sell there unwanted items/cars being broken, There is a forum which for a while now comes up as having (security issues) when accessing it. They are looking for someone who is clued up in all the forum/computer jiggery-pokery to get it back to how it was, It was a great forum with very knowledgeable members. I've been a member since 2008 & know there is a faceache & Instagram page. Have you got any pics/info/links on the one you've seen Here's a few pics of mine Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  18. Paul: It could well be that the battery is defective, as Rayaan suggests. I once met a fellow IS300h owner who was having his battery replaced under warranty after it had died on him overnight for no explainable reason with only a couple of thousand km on the clock. Apparently the usual procedure is for Lexus to supply and fit the replacement unless they authorise you, for reasons of convenience, to go to another supplier with whom they have an arrangement. Not all Lexus dealers keep stocks of batteries, and I believe that in the above instance the dealer avoided waiting time for the customer by taking one from another IS he had in the showroom. Not, I would think, that most dealers would be so co-operative.

  20. Managed to get some shots of the new acquisition this weekend. Still getting used to all the stares when queuing in traffic....

  21. I’d say more like 5. That’s too much for a 2008 (not very low miles either). I while ago on here a chap was selling a 2011 with warranty for the same price...yeah I know a dealer car will of course be more but I wouldn’t be surprised if that car remains at the dealer for a good while if the price remains that high (as nice as it may be). I’ve missed out on two 2008 ISFs, both will less miles and great history (one having a 2 year warranty), for a lot less than that. I am of course bias as I want to buy an ISF! Another example of an ISF going to a dealer though when there are buyers here...which makes me sad (though I do understand why) ;(

  23. @Comedian Must be my ageing eyesight, on the subject of Quicksilver spoke with their MD Paul Goddard on the phone today, they have an ongoing relationship with Lexus who have been ordering their systems for customers cars, in addition they are waiting for a GSF to do a mock system and subsequently market. He was someone who was willing to talk about exhaust matters and fully accepts that there's is expensive but states that it is a high quality product using the best materials, which it would have to be looking at the price. So I thought it's time now to ask if they would discount for a group buy, I fully accept there are unlikely to be enough members on the forum prepared to pay this kind of money but if you don't ask you don't get, anyway he said he would give a 20% discount for five or more even if it was a mixed order of cat back/ Full switched. Agiain you pays your money, good to see there are people showing interest in our cars with these items in the Uk, he even went to as far to say they would do the same with an isF if some one was prepared to give them a donor care to measure up and price up, it would be less money than the Gsf/Rcf naturally. 24. All I've done is remove the short breather hose and plugged the holes with screws, will get pics tomorrow. Back in summer sitting in traffic I did notice a drop in power when I did get a chance to give the throttle a good prod but power came back once you were moving and cooler air was coming in through the slots in the inner wing next to the air box flap. Now in winter and it's averaging 4c during the day here in Scotland this diy mod gives you the maximum torque the engine can produce, the front of the car rises up at low revs. I need to do a cold air feed from front of car to air box and seal it so it doesn't suck air from engine compartment when sitting still. My miles per gallon are less after doing this.

  25. Duff battery by sounds of it - or something is draining the battery e.g. dashcam or similiar They'll run out of battery in say 6 weeks of standing but shouldnt be 1 week!

  26. Have Lexus come up with any explanation why the battery was flat? It's not unreasonable to expect the car to start even if has been left unused for several weeks - what if you'd been on away on holiday and come back to the airport carpark at 2 in the morning and found the battery had gone flat?

  27. Agreed, for me this would be very welcome as I would love a car where I can pre-heat/de-ice the vehicle on these frosty mornings
