  1. My ISF ownership is now over. Nice chap came and bought it today. Hopefully he joins the forums and has as much enjoyment out of it as I did.

  2. My recent trade in of a NX450h+ Premium Plus with sunroof is currently being advertised by Lexus Edinburgh for £43995. I can throughly recommend the car - it's done less than 19000 miles and was registered in March 22. Its finished in Graphite Black with Hazel leather interior and has the protection pack fitted. Front footwell rugs were unused during my ownership. The upgraded door handles were fitted and all servicing and recalls completed by Lexus Edinburgh. It's a great car - never put a wheel wrong and I averaged over 70mpg after taking the cost of electric charging and converting that to fuel costs. It was washed meticulously every week (including power washing under each wheel arch) and was machine polished prior to handing it back. Think it will be a great buy for someone!

  6. Great news. Low mileage too 😀 Try a couple of comparison sites for insurance.

  7. Congratulations! My advice, shop around. A company that is good for one person doesn't necessarily mean it will be good (the best) for you.

  10. Thank you very much. Current draw was high when the battery was first renewed and the 140A fused bridged as the radiator or condensor fan was running flatout. I am going to look again at the car soon when Lexus deliver the new 140A fuse. I shall be back.

  11. Had my RCF now for 5yrs, still drive it like ive just stolen it, few mods and lexus still happy to keep it under warranty ie Armytrix exhaust, 20’’ wheels, carbon extras (bonnet, rear spoiler, wing inserts) couple of under bonnet mods, ….. parts are better sourced from rockauto in the states ie brakes pads and accessiories etc etc way way cheaper than lexus prices, and to this day i still look back when walking away from it and smile…… ps black RCFs are the sexiest, ya just need to ask my missus as shes only with me coz of my car as im ugly as sin 😉

  12. Yes. Lexus is just Toyota finance: https://www.toyota.co.uk/personal-finance/my-finance you’ll need your agreement number and the email address used during purchase. there is the option to generate a settlement figure and letter. Note settlement figure will be very different to the outstanding balance shown.

  13. Not a question of right and wrong, but rather of gastronomic and cultural purity. VFR got it right in his first post about baked beans on toast (although, if I think about it, the connection with Heinz might well introduce an element of doubt as regards national identity).

  14. Amazingly I too saw, on that trip, a huge eagle, about human size it seemed, on the edge of the road almost next to me, as me in my 95 Ls400 was coming up the mountain road, round the bend, quite quiet of course, then just then, the eagle opened its enormous wing span and flew off down into the mountains ......... wish I could have taken a photo but I was both hands steering up that treacherous mountain pass ...... somewhere in Spain that day I shall NEVER forget that event ! 15. Funny story here…some friends of ours have a villa in Spain and they take their UK registered car on the ferry and then drive down. At the Spanish border they were pulled in for an inspection and the custom official was delighted to find a 40” LCD TV in the boot knowing that taxes would have to be paid on it. Apparently his face dropped like a stone when a Spanish purchase receipt was waved in his face. 😀

  16. Wow that’s a great project result, just need a heat seeking automatic scatter gun mounted on the boot lid in case the barstools return again! Given the amount of grief they have caused you I would consider that “reasonable force”

  17. Well all, for better or worse I've almost completed the Rear Screen. I have no room for any Chrome but the beading of butyl is yt to be added and the boot end has to adhere to the platic rail. Before obvious critisism of the work in my defence I've laid awake for almost two months of incessant rain and dry and its been difficult to make progress. Couple this with the fact that I have advanced prostate Cancer, Lymphodeama , DVT and Bilateral Nephrostomys to my kidneys and you will understand wht I'v had to go through becuase of spiteful youths. Its wonky I know. The frivoulous fringe at the bottom is because I cut the material too short but couldnt start all over againand was too lazy to cut it off. Gives it a feminine feel! . I put the wrong side outer and not the rain proof side which meant I had to melt some silicone with white spirit and brush it all over to ensure rain runs off. I have yet to also stick it down to the plastic rail that crosses the boot. I've today glued it to the Cork and need wait 24 hours before finishing. The only Cabrio LS400 in existence?

  18. Highly recommended for front bumper and headlights at very least. Sadly, on most used cars it is already moon-cratered so it is too late, but on new RC that is probably the best way. Next step would be entire front + mirrors + door edges + rear arches. Second big sad, I remember the times when front of the car protection was £150, entire car PPF was maybe £400... now some companies charge as much as £2000 for PFFing the car... it is ridiculous. Although, that said RC front bumper is very intricate piece so I would expect to pay more for it to be done.

  19. Unless you know what has already been done to the car, I’d be inclined to start with the finish. Find a good local Detailer and have the car professionally Detailed with a ceramic coating. That involves baking on the ceramic coating with infrared heaters - and with the best will in the world, no home applied product is going to match that. That ceramic coat is an upfront investment that should last for many years and all you need do then is: a. Avoid car washes and the guys that work in supermarket car parks. b. Invest in the products listed by Linas in his first post and follow the snow foam, pressure washer, two bucket, microfibre mitt and towel wash routine. Ideally, using the maintenance products that match the ceramic coating. Of course, if you really want the best possible exterior protection, you could consider the application of Paint Protection Film - but that’s a whole new level of investment. https://www.huntsmiths.co.uk

  20. We’ll be finishing off the Chicken Noodle, Lemon Grass broth that I made yesterday, with its added carrots, red pepper, red chillies, ginger, star anise, celery, leeks, pak choi, spring onions, mushrooms, garlic and soy sauce….. before it combusts spontaneously.

  22. I'm wondering if by any chance the main ECU has reverse polarity protection. I was doing a bit of bench programming once on an aftermarket ECU using a 12V car battery as a power supply. I inadvertently got the leads crossed and BAM !!! Instant smoke as the insulation on my skinny test leads melted. On investigation it turned out that there was a sacrificial diode inside the box connected across the power supply. I had that replaced and the ECU was unharmed. Might be worth opening the ECU or at least testing it to see if it has a power supply to ground short circuit. I'd guess that reversed polarity in cars is a known hazard and the manufacturers might have provided some protection. Cheers...

  24. From my recent experience there appears to be a decent "stock" of NX in the UK or in shipment to the UK so provided your spec matches an available vehicle then you will get a prompt delivery. Unfortunately my spec (F-Sport 450h+ in Fuji Red with Sunroof and Black/white interior) couldn't be matched and hence I somewhat unexpectedly ended up choosing a RX 450h+! Could have gone for a factory order for the NX however these were paused at the time which leads me to believe that a MY25 upgrade may be coming.

  26. A rather short sighted view IMHO. You bought a car not an app and the car functions very well regardless of the app. I'm sure they will iron out the bugs eventually

  28. At the time I didn’t realise there was a difference, I naively thought all cars for sale would be presented in their best condition. I have just purchased a new NX as I think the UX is too close to 2nd generation for my liking.

  31. Hi Guys Greeting to all my SC friends old and new. I have been missing for sometime because I have been through the mill with personal and health problems but fortunately I am now out the other side! Does anyone know if there are plans afoot for an annual SC430 meet this year? It is usually June and we need to be booking hotel rooms if its happening. Anthony 🙂

  32. The one thing I did not appreciate is that with company car tax situation it makes real sense to go EV, so one assume fleet owners want cars that work, so possibly that will drive more development and better quality. As to 641bhp that sounds fun and dangerous with the 25 year old me (and quite possibly the 65 year old me as well).

  33. Each to his own I guess, three of my friends own Tesla's but all they do is drive from their home to their factories so they suffer no range anxiety. They no longer offer me drives in the cars as I deflated their balloon by being less than enthusiastic about them. The regenerative braking is the only thing I liked for about 10 minutes the rest they can keep, bloody awful was my opinion. I understand the is an insurance crisis with them on the horizon, and I keep seeing reports of charging station issues. I can see how from a business point of view they seem to make sense.
