  4. I really need to make a trip out of a meet at some point. It's hard work with 2 kids under 6 and a rather unsympathetic wife! I must try harder!!!!

  5. Been a long day and finally im back in a ISF. So as a few of you know which car it was.. so thanks for the tips. I can confirm all the service records have been confirmed by the specialist who said they only ever worked on one ISF and it was Mr so and so's (they actually said they had alot of inquiries about the service record lol). There are some very minor cosmetic to sort (me being anal) but otherwise the car is great, interior is near spotless and exterior is clean and tidy.. i really cant complain with what i paid (and it was not the asking price.. ;) The owners were open to the things i pointed out and we agreed a price after the usual hussle lol.. both father and son where great help. I actaully liked the silver once i saw it, not my first choice but its grown on me. It drives and pull fantasic (missed that F scream). My brother and i felt it was quicker then my last one for some reason. Good to be back in one.

  6. I have travelled distance for my last six cars. It is difficult to react quickly to a newly listed motor when you're not exactly next door. I've always expressed enthusiastic interest and the offer of a £200 deposit refundable should I not like the car when I view. In every case the car has been held for me pending my viewing. With £200 they know you're going to turn up. My present RX was held for me for 4 days and the dealer had a long list of people to call if I rejected the car. Ironically, he didn't process the deposit, the fact that I offered it was sufficient for him to judge my level of interest. If you want something, you have to make it happen !

  7. I have done some calculations for theoretical speed against engine revs. With MG1 being held stationary and the engine doing 6500 rpm the top speed would be 152 mph. If MG1 is driven in reverse the theoretical top speed for 6500 rpm is well in excess of 200 mph without over revving of any component. This of course makes the assumption that the engine has sufficient power which it does not. John.

  8. @Big Rat lol just as well our cars didn't come in the metallic brown that some of the jspec supra's were lovingly painted in. Known as MSB 😀

  9. @emjay82 I heard about that as well and the grey one was modelled on this and it came with the obvious accessories 🤓

  10. At last some gleaming dark shades of ISF 👍. Many don't know this but Lexus used inspiration for certain colours from unlikely sources in the UK. Ultrasonic blue was sampled from the Tesco blue stripe... And as for the silver, that was sampled from a public toilet in Cheltenham... I've heard that @Flytvr's car was urinated on 8 times during scheduled maintenance by male townsfolk, after mistaking the drivers door for a urinal.

  11. @mike m Yours just pops don't tell anyone I said that I have a reputation that is on the floor and I want to keep it that way 😂 Now on the subject of White you need to get yourself in front of one with the Anthracite wheels IMO they are the best, and the best of the best is @Warrington guy Dave's car I've dribbled over it more times than I can remember 😁 Big Rat

  13. Thanks for all the replies and the Grand Tour details - i'll be there. It rained most of the day yesterday and I wimped out of taking photos, but today looks more promising. The car is black with black inside I look forward to meeting other owners on 19th

  16. Yeah, I'd be dubious about a deposit in a private sale situation too. As a private seller you take the money from the first buyer that comes along, done it myself. Sorry you lost out and hope you find a decent one soon.

  21. Had an annoying buzzing noise every now and again and traced it to the suspension compressor. Required the removal of the drivers side inner wheel arch which is well secured on. 3 Bushes are easy to get. 2 with 10mm socket and one with 10mm spanner. A little soap and they slid in. Heres a few pics and the part number. Very cheap from lexus themselves.

  23. Everything was spotless under the wheel arch Hope it stays that way lol . Wasnt even a layer of dust. Keep note of all screws and clips so they go back the same way.

  28. the only rim protection are your eyes misjudge a kerb and you maybe unlucky. my mpg dropped by 2 mpg but that could be due to the tyres being new and larger in diameter therefore you will travel further for 1 rev of the wheel and your speedo will read less , 17 months later and i am returning 48mpg.

  29. You are absolutely right more of a motor sport presence would help the brand a lot. I bought a very nice F polo shirt from the owner of an RCF race car running in the European GT series (at Goodwood FoS), which I hadn’t Even realised was part of that series. They could do with some more higher profile racing which is well covered in the uk. Wouldn’t do them any harm to run an F branded car in the British Touring car series for example.

  31. If you can live with some of the cosmetic imperfections then it would be worth a look. I think the seller mentioned the springs had been replaced but as has been said, depends on the quality of the part. The car may appear to be top price but the 400's are getting rarer and knowing how good these cars are, I think worth the money. My only concern is the SORN - why MOT and then SORN? Still might be worth a punt. Let us know if you go and see it. Took mine for a spin yesterday - what a car! Picked up my son's friend, he got in and said, "This is a luxury car!" That boy will go far!

  32. Morning all. Long time no post. Had the dispatch mail too so thanks again to Pete for sorting all this. Very much appreciated! Let us know next steps when you can Pete. Really looking forward to meeting everyone at Kemble when I should have a few more mods in place. Tein front springs being fitted on the 10th to close that tyre gap. I’m planning to fit 12 or 15mm spacers all round on the OEM wheels and the USRS kit before a 4 wheel alignment. I’ve got a few bits of carbon trickery ready to fit and a few more on their way to be clear coated so it’s all shaping up nicely. See you all on the 19th if you’re going!

  36. Interest has GROWN thanks to our manager, a trend was started in the US when the head engineer () in the development of the ISF Yukihiko Yaguchi sined some engine covers. Surely that will add value, how much would big 🐀's signature add to a UK ISF???

  41. I think with time it may start to become more famous but it's going to take decades really! They need a good mainstream Motorsport presence and maybe something a little more accessable and cheap like a CTF!!lol Knowing what Lexus is like they would still want £40k for it anyway

  42. Beautiful... Generally, not big fan of two tone interiour, but this one seems an exception - really suits the car. Knowing how reliable IS250 is, I believe it is great choice... especially as second car besides RX.

  43. Excellent review. I am considering VLine for my 2008 IS250. Your review is extremely helpful. Thanks.
