  4. The dealer is an idiot. The problem you are facing is that the tpms ecu has stuck in a loop mode and yes, you cannot clear the errors with techstream or any other diagnose. To solve the problem, simply take a paper clip and connect the 13 and 4 pins on your obd with the ignition on(not the car started, just ignition on). This will totally reset the tpms ecu.

  5. That's an average price as there are a few around these days - you can also look on Ebay and find them there. One thing you don't want is a part that requires any alterations to the flange where it connects to the centre piece of the exhaust as it is more than likely that the centre section will go next - look (if you can) around the centre resonator for rust around the pipes into and out of the box as they will generally go there due to a lack of a good support in that area. You wont get an exact replacement for your Lex, quality wise, as the exhaust systems installed on them are a higher grade of mild steel, the ones you will see being sold are of a lesser grade but serviceable none the less. Noise wise, ask the seller or manufacturer of it but generally a mild steel one will absorb the noise. Your other option would be a SS one which is dearer but would last the life of the car usually but be noisier than the stock one...

  12. +1 for the extended warranty. Much more valuable. Asset protector? Presuming this is GAP/Return To Invoice (RTI) insurance? If so, check out the many other companies that do this. I went with ALA and their RTI version. Give them a call as they're always willing to do a deal. A decent detailer will be able to protect the paintwork a great deal better so be sure to have a look around for some near to where you are.

  15. Train pulled in at the Airport. After letting out the incoming passengers, a team of ladies swept through the entire train, cleaning it all. Best of all was the bowing. On the Bullet train -and others - the ticket inspector entered the carriage and bowed to the carriage-and when leaving, as did the food person. (I've seen people running for a lift being held open for them. bowing WHILE RUNNING!, in a kimono!) Having read the rest now........Macassar was hair oil, hence Anti-macassars. El Grand? I imported one via Algy's Autos. Good service (and they import to Avonmouth - I can see it from my garden!) - and the van was great to drive. Yes same engine as 350Z (and Renault Espace!) 50K miles. Pristine condition. Thinking of looking for a Soarer....... Was fun tracking the ship across the planet to here ('disappearing' in Indian ocean; they stop sending tracking signals there, to avoid the Somali pirates!) Was surprised to see the ship make THREE stops in Turkey!

  16. Yes, I too can't understand the 'not working any more' bit, it's not like there is something to 'wear' out but it could be the build quality is not very robust and after a while the stitching perhaps 'gives' a little and it is enough for it to no longer be totally radio wave encapsulating? paul m.

  18. Has anyone got one of these pouches that has and is still working for a long time? If yes, where from and what make? I was about to buy from amazon but there are negative reviews regarding them stopping working after a few weeks? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076KZF645/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=AOGC2YQR4USJS&psc=1

  19. I had Williams ceramic coating from new, thoroughly recommend it. On a used car it would need careful preparation first.

  20. I wouldn't bother. My current RX was gard x protected inside and out by dealer Outside no good aftwxarcprepared for resale. I bought some gard x leather treatment for peanuts off ebay. Apparently the valeters always have tons left over and sell it on

  22. So i finally have all my fuel system parts .... And today i made a start, 1st up was to remove the fuel tank....... easy. Covered all the holes to stop the smell of fuel taking over, tomorrows job is to drain the tank and pull the pump out and see whats got to be done. Atlast i have plenty parts to crack on with this build!

  23. Yes, it must benefit the dealer, but most of all I think the salesman benefits from a generous commission package on these products. Personally, I wouldn't bother, especially as you care for your vehicle anyway. If you're planning on keeping the vehicle for a few years and having it serviced by Lexus, I'd be more inclined to invest funds in the extended warranty to follow on after the initial dealer supplied warranty. I speak from experience on the warranty as I have benefitted from it on two ISs in the past. Enjoy your GS if you go through with the purchase.

  24. About ACC and fuel economy, because of its adaptive feature, ti depends by the driving style of vehicle before, if it has a "nervous" driving this will affect negatively economy "copying" speed changes, while usually a constant speed wit CC helps to spare fuel.

  25. Decided to detail the RX today as I had a free day Products used - Carchem 1900:1, APC for arches, Autosmart Smart Wheels 10:1, Powermaxed Tar Off, Angelwax Revelation fallout remover, Clay mitt, Britemax Black Max followed by Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax. Side and rear glass done with 1 coat of Rain X and 1 coat of Powermaxed Rain off. Windscreen and Pan roof polished with Autosmart Glass Glow followed by 3 coats of Powermaxed Rain off. Plastics - Armorall Shield (not its conventional use) and tyres done with Autosmart High Style. Not too dirty, but I tend to wash based on wheel dirt rather than paintwork dirt. As can be seen, wheels were filthy. Not a fan of OEM Brake pads/discs on the 4RX. Yes, they have better performance than the 3RX but my gosh they spew out dust like nothing else. Angelwax Revelation doing its thing Power maxed Tar off making the tar run off. Rain off beading on the pan roof Love a reflection shot. Pics aren't the best, Im no photography expert but I would highly recommend Britemax Black Max. Makes the paintwork look like flowing water almost!
