I have been looking for a set of wheels for a while now as the ones on the car are bubbling on the inside causing slow punctures. I could have had them all cleaned but decided to get new. I have just bought a set of G Spider 18" alloys (Brand new alloys with brand new tyres) from a Lexus dealer for a total cost of £530 !!! I think Christmas has come early as I have seen the alloys on their own selling for £700 so well chuffed in buying them. Has anyone got these on their car - any pictures ??? My car is Cardaxon Slate 1G0 colour. Happy Days2 points

Id agree.. under warranty id stick with dealers as i plan on doimg this with my GS300h. But on the ISF i have no warranty on and tbh i have no intention of getting it serviced by them unless they give me a big smile discount. My car has been looked after by toyotec in Lincon for the last 6yrs of its life after couple of Lexus visits, and their prices would you believe are same as Dealers , otherwise i would have gone to them again (mainly for a stamp). My dad all his life worked on Toyota's and ive picked up invaluble experinece. Im planning to do all the services myself and keep the receipts to prove the work has been done at a fraction of the price dealers charge. I noticed people value receipts more then a stamp in a book. Some may disagree. Sorry that was slightly of topic.2 points

For anyone curious I will be updating this thread next week. The RX is back in Sheffield getting a couple of things sorted which I wasn’t totally happy with. The dealers have been great. They delivered a courtesy car to my door in Glasgow and took the RX back to sort. We love the car. I just wish the V6 wasn’t so muted sound wise. Also, no, I have not been looking at HKS blower kits. Honest. That would be ridiculous! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

We now have 2 posts swerving off topic, should we rename the club "The Legal Owners' Club"2 points

Thanks, its been very welcoming and helpful, from everything ive read it sounds like Lexus built these cars like tanks, that factor and its rarity attracted me, maybe it will be a future classic. I do intend to keep this car as a long termer, i do lowish milage (<10k pa) so fingers crossed my main worries will be fuel/tyres and routine servicing. Ill get the car on Sunday morning, i can't wait, just hoping for a dry day!2 points

Morning All, As suggested, thought I’d start a new thread to document the progress by SRD on my supercharger install. Hoping they receive the replacement auxiliary pulley today, as it’s holding things up! I won’t try posting the video of the knackered pulley again, but here are photos from day one, mostly stripping everything down, with one of the two new coolers fitted, and the rather lovely ATI custom harmonic crank damper pulley.1 point

Yes certainly in fact its best to do it when new because they'll be dirt free and easier to do. The coating supposedly lasts up to 2 years so you should be set.1 point

@Ace8800You're someone who has gained a fair bit of knowledge now of these cars being a serial buyer 😁 Its invaluable to get to know your car the feel and have the ability to recognise when she's not herself 😏 And I agree entirely receipts in conjunction with the stamps invaluable. Big Rat1 point

I think it would be a little more than criminal damage......it would be a right-off....1 point

You know what PaulWhitt since my last 4 cars in 6 years have been keyless entry and start I've forgotten that I have buttons on my fob lol. Cheers for your post And the fact it' a good way to check the car is locked. Heads up to you pal :-)1 point

Hope this helps?Ryo sent me a link, hopefully you can see it, not from the same seller as mine but looks good, Paul https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kyosho-1-43-Lexus-IS-F-Mercury-Metallic-2008-JC49012SM-IS-F-ISF/272629178034?hash=item3f79f71eb2:g:rXAAAOSwtfhYpo5t1 point

@paul99Just to sooth some of your fears fuel consumption,I had 34mpg once................. yep that's it once 😁 Tyres I can get a set of OEM Bridgestones fitted for six hundred notes, some on here go posh and buy Michelin and such like 🙄😂😂 Servicing well if it's under warranty with the 'Big Lexi' you'll just have to take it on the chin but to be honest it ain't that bad 👍 Value wise show me a better rival and I'll show you a liar 🤥 Big Rat1 point

Are we really saying we're too lazy to press a button on the key fob when you want to open the rear doors first? I actually find it useful not to have keyless opening on the rear doors. I try the back doors to make sure the car is locked. Same on the wife's Jazz. Remember the days when the gentleman would use the keys to unlock the passenger door first so the lady could get in. Or am I just showing my age now!1 point

if you look through the pages of different views you will come across my answer,if it is a brief rattle just for a second or two, you want to change the oil and filter and purchase some archoil ar 9100 advanced friction modifier and oil additive from www powerenhancer.co.uk my 250 had done about 35.000 when it started to rattle,i came to the conclusion it was the camshaft stopping in the wrong place and allowing oil to drain away. hope this helps I have been using archoil for a few years now and it works magic. dave1 point

Thanks David. So fortunately RR-Racing have put together quite a comprehensive installation guide document they send out with the kit. It's a work in progress for them, as they make changes to it as they receive more feedback from the buyers/installers. The Yanks actually put us to shame when it comes to tackling things like this themselves! Most kits sold in the States were actually fitted by the buyers/owners in their own garages! Probably the reason why no one has addressed the weak/poor recommendation to attach the gearbox cooler to the brake ducting, as they wouldn't necessarily see the issue with it. SRD are therefore helping me to report back to RR-Racing/Simon & Rafi with any further feedback or suggestions they should consider for future kits. I am indeed eager to get back behind the wheel, but will happily bide my time for the sake of allowing Lee and his team to get things right. The failed auxiliary pulley was an unexpected and frankly annoying delay, but Lee and the guys have been working away on other areas whilst they wait for the new pulley to arrive. Should be amazing once it's done though.1 point

Follow him until he stops, put on a ski mask, grab an aluminium bbb (they don’t break) knock seven bells out of his bike, making sure you hit every panel and accessory. Thats Karma.....:)1 point

Brilliant thread Pete - will be a great resource for anyone wanting to do the same. Very interesting stuff - although I don’t have a clue what I am looking at half the time.😉 Look forward to seeing it when it’s finished some time so you explain what SRD we’re doing. You must be comping at the bit to get it on the road. Hope it continues to go smoothly👍🏻1 point

Jgtcracer. Flytvr has a bag on because you haven’t posted in his dirty isf thread1 point

The series III pump should fit as the only difference is the reservoir mounting being a hose rather than being mounted directly on top, as far as I remember it should just be a case of swopping this part over from the old pump onto the replacement, the mounting onto the engine block should be the same.1 point

Amateurs. If your passenger threatens to throw up without actually following through, you’re not drying hard enough. I’m quite proud of my statistics - Vauxhall Vectra V6 SRi - Chalked one X girlfriend ISF - Made the Mrs barf on a trip through Wales Cessna 172 - X Mrs barfed and made me land I will add that this behaviour is not big and not clever 😀1 point

How dare you!! I'm a modern man, in touch with my femenine side! I own a pink shirt you know1 point

I hope you feed back to RR Racing regarding the mounting design change. Mounting to upstream/brake ducts sounds like a no no to me too. Just make sure any bracketry in that area is well painted to prevent corrosion. Does that oil cooler replace the stock water cooled one?1 point
-
Morning All. Quick update, gearbox oil cooler is now fitted. Guys at SRD weren’t happy with how it was supposed to bolt to the flimsy brake ducts, so they fabricated some proper brackets for it. The FMIC is also now fitted with the crash bar modified to accommodate same. Auxiliary pulley didn’t show up yesterday, but should be with the guys today hopefully. More progress and photos to follow.1 point

That did make me chuckle, a work colleague always refers to it as “see u bought in the pink motor”...😂🤣1 point

Libel & slander cases are very expensive starting around a cool £250,000 and that would need paying into court before any counsel would even consider taking it on so with that in mind it would need to be a serious slander or libel. These laws are for the rich and famous.1 point

Welcome to the club... excellent choice you will not regret it. They are Half the maintainance cost compared to the german rivals and much much more robust. Light interior should deflect the sunlight, so you car should be slightly quicker lol.1 point

The temptation is strong but solves nothing though does it? I'm very much a karma sort of person. Not in a waving your chakras and chanting at crystals way but more based on cold statistics. If he continues to drive like a ******, especially as exposed as that, he's a lot more likely to come a serious cropper than Linus. I'm not going to wish him ill, he'll eventually manage to do that all by himself.1 point
-
Hell of a conspiracy there Linus. I've no idea what you mean with your scapegoating comment but it appears you've just met one of society's many dickheads. A sub-culture that seems to be on the increase. And they can be motorcyclists, cyclists, motorists, pedestrians or people wearing hats. Makes no odds. Individuals who clearly just don't give a toss about anyone else. My commiserations, it's a shame about the dashcam footage. The only thing we can do in situations like this is to take a deep breath and make more of an effort to treat people how we would like to be treated.1 point

Sounds like he was driving a completely different car to mine, as Flytvr says upshifts are harsher in Sport mode as are a lot of other cars, that aside absolutely no issues with mine. Trashy American journalism in my opinion.1 point
