Purchased some new Pagid front discs from euro car parts for the front of the ISF on Monday for £126.50 delivered and look what turned up! Having phoned them it turns out that Pagid sell the Brembo discs as their own. ISF brakes are unique to the car so Brembo are the only ones that make them. They're massive and quality looks amazing! Nice bit of info for any anoraks it there!! Marcus2 points

Pagid are owned by TMD Friction who are "partners" with Brembo, probably a financial stake in the company hence some parts are cross manufactured.2 points

Thanks for your note, Shirish. I have decided to go with the Michelins and have an appointment with Kwik Fit tomorrow. I shall let the forum know how I get on with the new tyres. They have generally had good reviews but we shall see how they perform on the LS.2 points

Made arrangements to go and see a 63-plated RX450h Advance at Lexus Teeside tomorrow and I have to say that if it drives as good as it looks in the photos, there's a very good chance that we'll go for it. Rang my insurance to let them know (Ageas through A-Plan Brokers) and was shocked to be told that if we get it, it'll be an extra £330 to cover it until my renewal at the end of June! Cheapest quote I've got so far to cancel my existing policy and start with a new one tomorrow is Direct Line at £666.40. I think I paid £420 for my RX300 insurance so I suppose I shouldn't be too shocked as the 300 is now 12 years old and worth less than £5k, whereas the 450h is on sale for a few quid under £25k. What was a surprise though is that other 450hs I've been looking at are Insurance Group 41E, whereas this Advance is Insurance Group 50. Ah well, it's a joint 60th birthday present to ourselves so who cares1 point

I could live with that as long as it had the IS 350 engine as bare minimum. Thanks for being the forum's Siri1 point

Very nice that Ratty I'll give Adrian Flux a go as well as Les's suggestion of the RAC, but I'll be very surprised if I can get it anywhere near yours, let alone the miniscule amount that Les is paying.1 point

No, the Motorline group doesn't include Stoke. AFAIK Lexus Stoke is a standalone Lexus dealer not associated with any other dealers. The only explanation would be that Stoke couldn't sell it so gave it to Lexus HQ And then other dealers can buy them from Lexus HQ so I guess Lexus Gatwick bought it.1 point

I had a flash of inspiration earlier and thought the following. Ho could mean home, as in your ‘home’ network? Rm could mean it thinks you’re roaming? Given the Bluetooth software in our cars was probably written 15 years ago it’s amazing it works at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yes, stupid me. Getting old really does mess with the memory. Didn't even get the right name. The only thing I had correct was that Sam & Bert were both goalkeepers, well I would have if I had mentioned that Sam was a goalkeeper as well.1 point

Probably no reason at all apart from stupidity! The one thing that really annoys be on this car is the lack of TA button on the dash, which I had on my IS. Generally I don't have it on as it interrupts my listening pleasure but occasionally I like to use if coming up to slow moving traffic to see what the hold up and possible length of delay may be. In the IS I simply pressed a button on the dash to turn it on and then again to turn it off after I've heard about my bit of road. Bu no, not on the GS. I have to go into radio settings to select it. To do this takes a couple of menus and more than a couple of clicks! Not only is this irritating it also forces me to take my eyes of the road. Who thought that a good idea?????1 point

I'd used Pagid discs in the past and had a feeling they might of done this with the ISF so thought I'd order them and see. The Pagid pads are branded as Pagid but should still be fine!1 point

Agreed There must be some reason not to include that and the TPWS reset in the cluster menu? Surely easier to enable an option in the coding rather than have to add wiring and buttons?1 point

They were cleaned twice. Checked it today after 24 hrs, spot on has not lost a thing. Thank heavens. Funny how such a thing can dominate your life, like a broken washing machine, or boiler. In the developing world they would laugh at our huge 'problems', such is our luck.1 point

I've had mine just over a month and it's a fantastic car. You won't be disappointed.1 point
