Well ive had the CT200H 2 weeks now and im absolutely loving using this thing day to day. So comfy, quiet, easy and cheap to drive. Its an absolute joy. Didnt realise the fuel tanks was so small!! I did 15 miles with the fuel light on and just about squeezed £40 into it with an estimated return of 425miles!!! Gave it its first bit of TLC, good wash off, attacked it with the clay bar which tbh there wasnt much to get off, quick polish with super resin and a quick coat of EZ Sl02 ceramic wax, not happy tbh as i needed to take more time over it, the moisture was dropping in the air as the evening came. Dont attack me for no tyre shine i was at the Mrs house and forgot to take it. That last picture you can really see how the moisture dropped. Got some nice beading (i know im sad) and a good picture of frozen beads!2 points

Never top it off, always stop when the pump clicks off the first time or you'll risk damaging the charcoal cylinder (£££).2 points

Used CT owner here. Recently drove from Edinburgh to Teesside to visit family. On reaching my destination, noticed horrible scraping/squeaking noise coming from underneath the car which necessitated a visit to Lexus Teesside to check it out before making the return journey. As suspected it was the loose exhaust heat shield problem which is a well known issue with this model. Heat shield was resecured and an ongoing issue with the tyre pressure was also reset and resolved (without asking for this to be looked at) Car was also given a quick clean and vacuum all for the total price of £15 ! Nice to know wherever you travel, you're never far away from good customer service from Lexus :-)1 point

When i had my 2010 RX450H it averaged 31.5MPG overall over 2 years, and i was very happy with that.1 point

I too like the Corolla Hybrid estate. Would buy a 69 plate in Design trim and the 2 litre. In scarlet flare or denim blue. Just cant afford/justify spending an extra 15k for a car that really does the same job as my Auris. Adaptive cruise would be great, but auto parking, lane assistance probably would switch off. OP, are the new rear silencers chambered or that "free-flow"? I've found free-flow silencers to quite bad for drone low end torque loss. When I had a SS exhaust put on my 3GS at Tony Banks, I insisted on chambered silencers. The fitters may yet be able to replace the back boxes or even install baffles (sp?) which should improve the drone at 2-2.5k rpm.1 point

Oh, Herbie--Bubble and Squeak, Pure heaven on Earth! Do enjoy and save some, lest an elderly vagabond driving a Silver GS 450h TAPS ON YOUR PORCH WINDOW LATE ONE MOONLESS NIGHT !!1 point

Standard 215/45-17. Less noise than 205/55-16 on a Golf V DSG 2.0 tdi. Lexus is a quiet car.1 point

Thank you - I'll take a look. Cold meat and pickles today (etc) - Beano and Dandy stylee.1 point

I was indeed stuffed yesterday and today I have to do it all again as Bubble & Squeak 😄 It's hidden behind the glove box Piers. It's a while since we traded our 300 in but I'm almost certain that you have to remove the panel under the glove box and then lie on your back looking up towards the top of the dash and it'll be there.1 point

Thanks Thomas, is it your videos of your blue SC430 on YouTube? I'll go see my tyre specialist-cum-mechanic next week. My instinct, affirmed by my engineer, as the intermittent clacking noise is from above my right shoulder, is that the tintop needs adjusting: the ride is excellent and quiet, when top-down. What a unique piece of reliable engineering this car is, for £6k. If I'm right, does anybody know of a competent independent who I could entrust the tintop to, in London or UK South East? Thanks, and a Happy New Year to All. BTW am negotiating for a 3rd Lexus, an LS600h... Keeping the '07 GS450h 96k, a fabulous driver's Q-car (a discreet muscle car) limousine, averaging 28mpg. Again, what value for £5k.1 point

I have Goodyears 4 season, Gen 2 on my GS, very happy with them, comfy and quite, also gives me a bit of more assurance if we get the snow. I also find them very good when it is pouring rain. I am thinking to get these for my wifes BMW, just to get rid of noise and harsh Run Flats.1 point

Welcome Martin, well done om joining the forum! You might not need any repairs done to your fresh IS but in here so much interesting information to read! As John asked, why Lexus? What did you drive before? Merry Christmas!1 point

Good Man ! Lockdown has been well used. I'd never heard of Lexington Lab Band and they have some fabulous stuff on Tube. Not so rocky but still amazing are " The Foxes and Fossils ". Tons of real talent and such nice people. I can't get enough of them. Alan1 point

Moving out of place. Happened to me. Every time I reversed it was clunking. Because it was loose, moving around. So I replaced them.1 point

Well the driver was fairly aged and male so I'll settle for just the car on this occasion!😁1 point

I am told if you have to many relatives at home for Christmas the police will come and tell them to go home. Can you book this service?😉 John.1 point

I recently needed to buy a new clutch and flywheel for my 2005 IS250 and was shocked to find out it was damn near impossible to get the oem parts for under £1,000. After much research I decided to go with a solid mass flywheel kit from EXEDY. Unfortunately these are manufactured in Australia and the only UK seller I could find was techniclutch on eBay. I decided to go ahead with it as I didn't really have much other choice, and it was £200 cheaper than buying from Australia. After 9 days with no update on the order even having been dispatched I decided to google the company (which was something I really should have done to begin with). I found forum after forum complaining that the company had scammed them in various different ways. After discovering this I immediately opened a dispute with eBay that the item had not arrived and specifically stated that if the order had not been dispatched yet I'd like to cancel it. This dispute gave the seller 10 days to respond before eBay would get involved. Naturally they only responded the day before the deadline telling me it would be with me the next day, ignoring the fact I had asked them to cancel it. 5 days later a parcel finally arrived. I had low expectations but I still had a glimmer of hope that they might have sent the correct part. This was not the case. In the box was a clutch with the code DT-170 on it. Surprisingly this is the correct clutch for the car but did not include half of what I ordered. This part costs roughly £60 on its own, I ordered the kit for £1,100. I immediately opened a return request on eBay as the item was not as described, giving the seller 7 days to send me a postage label before eBay close the dispute in my favour and what do you know, they once again waited for the last day before sending me the return label. I posted the same day and finally got my money back another 7 days later. All in all I was out of £1,100 pounds for over a month while my cars clutch slipped more and more each day as I was unable to shell out another grand to get it fixed before I got my money back. Finally once I got my money back I was able to buy the parts elsewhere which ended up being far cheaper too. Long story short, google eBay sellers before buying from them and never ever waste your time on techniclutch.1 point

There is a speed cutoff above which the parking pawl doesn't engage even if you do press it. I've done it by mistake while at speed and it just beeped and and the car stayed in Drive Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk1 point

Bought some Goodyear 4 seasons in November and am delighted with them, they have transformed the ride of the car which I always found to be on the harsh side. Haven't really had a winter so cant comment on winter performance1 point

Don’t put all weather/all season/winter only across one axle. If you hit snow/ice this will lead to a big imbalance front to back and could result in serious oversteer.1 point
