My japan racing wheels were looking a bit tatty so I've had them refurbished at flat out alloys in cardiff. I changed the silver for porsche grey metallic with a satin finish and diamond cut spokes for a more OEM finish and to hide the dirt a bit better! Hard to do them justice in photos, they look even better in real life! Cost was £500. All opinions welcome, except @Flytvr 😉5 points

I've just had a peak over on some of the forums I've belonged to in the past M3 RS 911, at some of the car related problems. There are pages and and pages all recent of repeated expensive issues and what have we got a few bumper clips and a sat nav through a hissy fit ! Gotta love your Lexus on the whole 😊 🐀5 points

I'm running yellow stuff pads all round and have no complaints. They held up fine on track and work well when cold.4 points

Ok one of the mods just dropped me a PM and confirmed the admin's contact details so I have sent a message direct to the man who can make the changes, fingers crossed he will like the idea and make the new section.4 points

So that's the deed done. Black ISF is now on its way south to Kent. New owners are near Blue water so may be visible in the future. The owner is a copper, so keep it clean. Its been an absolute pleasure to own an ISF and I will admit, it was a little awkward letting it go, but needs must. Bye everyone, have fun with V8's!!2 points

@emjay82. I was talking to @Big Rat the other day. He said that he never has BBQs, mainly because the quails eggs keep falling through the grill.2 points

Good times Matt and David. Shame it was just the three of us, but hopefully the drive out in mine made it more than worthwhile! Lol. Goes without saying, we've left now guys, so save your petrol. Hopefully organise another meet soon. Cheers for now. Pete2 points

I've not seen this before but it backs up what I was originally saying about it not just being a car in its day!2 points

You forgot to mention the issue of having to fill the car with petrol, I believe the issue is connected to the accelerator pedal. 😳2 points

@Flytvr Anyway if I go around tucking in the 'F' at night in some cosy garage whispering sweet nothings in her ear whilst plumping up her douvet Mrs Rat would be very displeased with me................. And hell hath no fury like a Jamaican woman who believes she's playing second fiddle to a car..... even if it is an ISF 😂2 points

Business must be good with a car like that!! Wheels look smaller now, really quality finish however. Good Job Rusty1 point

@Rusty Crobar Don't worry about @Flytvr Russ when he next rings you for 'blanket cover' for his car just tell him no as he tells his current insurer it's kept in the garage the truth is it's just a posh porch with a rug over it 😂 🐀1 point

Huge improvement on the original colour of those wheels, looks more subtle which I like. Good job.1 point

Could not have put it better myself! I found it harder than expected to stick to the speed limits today - it drives so smoothly.1 point

I sell a lot of tat on ebay & Amazon that I buy at auction and car boot sales as a fairly lucrative sideline so it was actually going to be used for that. I previously had a Nissan Pathfinder which had a huge load space in the back with the rear seats down so going from that to the Lexus is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Some sort of van was always the sensible option anyway as it'll stop the Lexus getting messed up inside when i'm trying to pack half a ton of crap on the back seats :) I am toying with the idea of buying an old Focus Estate or such like instead of a van and I could put them both on a multicar policy, plus something with a back seat would prove a bit more useful for family bus duties too as when needed.1 point

Years ago trackers were about £200 a go and more, it wasn't until my daughters car was stolen (and burnt out) that I thought of looking into them and was surprised at how inexpensive they were now. Like you my house is covered by cameras, unfortunately they're no good when the car is in Manchester or anywhere else than outside my house. Regarding confidence, I am a lot happier knowing where my car is simply by going online and looking at the display on the website, and also that can disable the car should need to. If a thief wants to drive MY car at 130 MPH I don't mind cutting the engine on him, although it can be done so it only cuts the engine when going under 12 MPH. Do a search on Amazon (other sites are available) and it will show you alternative sellers who do have them in stock. I have the 'B' version which has a remote fob, but that doesn't really do much (I just like gadgets). Here is part of the display of my car being moved from the secure parking to the Airport and some of my journey home after returning from Spain last month, each of the dots indicates date/time.1 point

@Flytvr, it took a few months, that's for sure. There weren't many on when I started, now there seems to be a glut. I know mine has slightly higher mileage than average, but it did necessitate a couple of drops in ticket price before I got the bite.1 point

Great to meet up gents, thanks for the ride out Pete. Something else is all I can say . Fantastic noise and pull. Don't know about you David, but mine felt a little subdued on the way home!! have a funny feeling you'll be calling H&S soon. fantastic looking cars, both of them. look forward to seeing you at the next one. matt1 point

Hi. I have one owner 2002 model in blue with cream interior just over 12000 miles full Lexus Main Dealer History, Cambelt changed and private reg ( CCN70C ) this goes with the vehicle.(cambelt change requirement 100000 miles or 10 years) 4 New Lexus wheels with the rubber 100 miles of use, slight kerbing very slight, may be £ 100 to restore back to new condition. You will not find a better example, still, has original stickers on the seats, i would describe it as the best example in the UK.a rare find indeed.Engine oil, for example, is the colour of light honey, a new battery from Lexus. This model year far less road tax than later models. Yes, you will find cheaper, however, this car is what I would describe as just about new (one owner) and a sticker price of £54000 in 2002.i may still have the original receipt.,3 sets of keys and all associated paperwork, books and manuals. Is presently on SORN. A timeless classic in the making. 60 high definition pictures of this vehicle i believe only 700 SC 430 is on the register in the UK 3 2002 Models 2 on the road and mine on the SORN. email me ccap123@aol.com and i will send you the photos. I was told, admittedly by the Mitsubishi manager, that the L200 pick-up would be able to stand similiar treatment - they are still the best selling pick-up in the UK I believe. Still, credit to the Toyota, it did take some hammer. Would a Land Rover / Range Rover fair so well? Anyone out there want to try? Make a good short film ........ very short in my opinion!1 point

I bought my car for reliability and with a view towards putting a few hundred thousand miles on it. IS250 all the way. Those turbo's spin at tens of thousands of RPM and are not reliable in the long term. Cant imagine my IS reaching 225mph though 😂😂😂1 point

I remember reading from long back the huge Toyota Land Cruiser 4 ltr whatever was the vehicle of choice for Oz outback ( that's actually out AND back ) traversing. I wouldn't trust any other vehicle. Malc1 point

Just seen this now. A great job there and the paint certainly reflects well. It's a shame there's not much sun around! A beading pic is an absolute must! How many coats of fusso did you end up putting in the end?1 point

Yes, plus Subaru boxer etc, but the difference being, those older 4-pot turbos are engines with a bit of character from a bygone age when no-one gave a damn about emissions or fuel economy, and they were turbocharged to increase performance, not tick boxes.1 point

Let me just leave a picture of this underpowered 2.0 turbocharged car here1 point

I still thoroughly enjoy the excitement ( even at my advanced age ) of plodding along and taking the odd super fast car by surprise when i just " toe it " and fly away ..... likewise at traffic lights with a boy racer, or someone i know is just riding the clutch to chase away ahead of me, my old banger, and I put it into quick mode and fly away like a jet at my super acceleration of 6.9 secs 0 - 60 mph ( even now I believe ) and then continuing super acceleration right through to a speed limit thundering 70mph I was very naughty once, three people in a new Merc estate decided to play silly buggers with me and cutting me up on a dual ( duel ! ) carriageway. I let it pass until they slowed down and i overtook in the normal course, then they decided to start again ( being silly buggers ) so I then kept them in the outside lane not allowing them to pull into the nearside ( my ) lane and they got quite scared when they couldn't get anywhere near to overtaking me at some silly fast speed .... and they seemed to desperately need the security of the inside lane. Some Merc drivers eh ! Malc1 point

You would beat me too. I drive in SUV mode most of the time. I enjoy a quick getaway when it's quiet and there's no competition but I quite like coming second in the traffic light grand prix so that the person in the other car can have their day of glory. Spread a little happiness and give them the nod to confirm their superiority at the next set of lights, I say. The halo does slip occasionally but what does any of us need to prove away from the track?1 point

I didn't say I was carrying them with my hands, they were tucked under my chin, I didn't want to spill my lager.... 😉1 point
-
@emjay82 I find that somewhat difficult to believe, I saw you leaving the bar area of a certain hotel in Wales not so many months ago after a very full night of eating and drinking with no less than 4 pints in each hand as you made your way to your room..... tut tut heavy brake discs indeed 😉 🐀1 point

I picked up some rear discs off a fellow member and it was a struggle to carry them both to my car 😂1 point

Yeah, I must admit, I always get discount, but they have to work it out manually, which does seem a bit odd and a bit of a faff. So if it's only a couple of quid, I can't be arsed to put them through the rigmarole so don't always use the card. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC1 point
-
My branch work the discount out on calculator then apply at till. Odd but it works. if ever refused id show them the webpage confirming the card, i think the problem is they rarely see them lol1 point
-
No problems at all a Norwich. They take the card, scan it and the total is discounted. Happy days.👍🏼1 point

I watched Speed 2 Cruise Control on TV the other day, that ship didn't slow down very much either, it hit an oil tanker before crashing into the pier in St Martin. Brake lights didn't come on either!1 point
