Hi there I'm from down under in Australia. I own two LS400s a series 2 1995 model, and a series 1 1992. We go off Kilometres and not Miles over here but I thought I might add on this page.... my series 2 Ls has just clocked over 1,100,000 klms on the odometer!! equivalent to 800,000Miles! and might I also add... it has a full genuine Original purchased from Lexus dealership service history!! not one service has been missed by the lexus guys for its whole life ! it still drives like it would of the day it left the showroom floor. original engine, never had a head gasket or anything done !!3 points

Very nice. I’m a big fan of the blue. hope you enjoy her. You’ll have to do a little write up on how different you find the ‘F’2 points

I have some more news on this no firm date as yet but it is going to be most probably the latter part of April, as regards location it has not yet been decided but will either be Coventry or Cheltenham. There will be a full range of 'F' cars and LC as well as most likely 'F' sport vehicles. One of the reasons for the uncertainties of the date is that they are trying to secure anniversary models of Gsf and Rcf which would be great. Now one major plus for us is that Tim Huxley the Dealer Principal at Lexus Cheltenham has secured the attendance of one of the LFA's , now they are usually in attendance at events as a static display but he will have the keys so at the very least we can all drool and dribble at THAT noise. Just as soon as I get more detailed information for date and location I will post it up. Big Rat1 point

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201802023349613?advertising-location=at_cars&model=IS F&page=1&make=LEXUS&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New As soon as I saw this I was convinced it was @kieron1977's. I even messaged him about it, but it's not his. So anyone know this ISF? Another one in my favourite colour!1 point

After seeing @Farquis shining Gs450h is always planned on getting my car corrected they (autobrite) had it this week for three days, £280, and what was a car made up of more of swirls than I remember seeing, and multiplying every second look, was transformed into a rather nice clean car two stage polish, some manual effort involved where paint has been repaired and was too hard for machining, and a water based ceramic coating then within hours, my neighbours building work took effect, the car is now covered, or as I am now pretending, covert.1 point

i know its not the same but my 3.5 elgrand came up with the fault. 02 sensor .not vsc but just engine light. i cleared it used it for a bit .was fine until i left it for a few weeks unused. started it and came on. i cleared it again and its been off. I'm wondering if its battery related too as I'm sure i had the vsc light come on when my 5 series battery went flat1 point

I'd definitely be up for this! Coventry for me to would also be better but no real issue if it's Cheltenham. Keep me informed on dates etc1 point

Mods - any chance you could help Deron, and remove his post code from the URL above?1 point

I'd likely drag myself along to this, even though I drive a lowly F-Sport and battery version at that!! To compound my sins, I'll admit to not really liking the LFA, except for the glorious exhaust song, the rest doesn't grab me. Now, the LC, that's a different kettle of fish1 point

Logical fault finding- I fully agree, 1, don't always assume new parts are good! 2, try and swap known good parts to eliminate other components 3, rare but don't dismiss the fact you may have in fact TWO faults, this can happen in modern cars full of sophisticated electronics whereby the catastrophic failure of one (normally high powered) component can impact on another. It is human nature to want one fix but it may if fact require more than one component, hopefully not in your case. paul m.1 point

Great looking car, a big hike in power compared to the is200!!, you will find yourself arriving at corners and roundabouts a lot faster than you are used to.......... welcome to the club.1 point

Never had issues with buying brake pads from ECP, or the other car parts suppliers. It’s just s case of shopping around. I know some people are a bit precious over buying from such places.1 point

All sorted....couldn’t find a decent RSR at the right price that wasn’t miles away, and decent provenance..so bought the car at Lexus Derby....really good deal...all MOT work sorted, including 4 new tyres, 1 owner, bought from them, and always serviced by them, 1 year Lexus warranty and delivered to my house! What’s not to like! Cheers Steve1 point

Improved yes but not that much. CVT is a bit more linear and ride is slight smoother owing to a stiffer chassis and less harsh suspension. Im very happy with the ride comfort but it wouldn’t suit someone who wanted to waft along. I’d suggest you see for yourself on a test drive. IS250 is quite a different beast. More refined but at the expense of poorer fuel economy and more maintenance costs.1 point
