Evening folks hope your all well. Just completed the first of our pilgrimages to Cornwall give or take a couple of miles about a 700 mile round trip. Got to tell you the UX was a most enjoyable relaxed ride. Mostly all motorway apart from the A30 run into Cornwall which is now dual carriageway. The seats were comfortable no problems there and there was no noticeable wind or tire noise. I used the radar cruise very good what an innovation this is. We stay in a caravan so we took quite a heavy load down with us lowered back seats to get it all in no problem at all the under boot floor storage was utilized to great effect. Didn't need to put any air in tires going or coming home .TPMS registered same pressure all tires. Fuel well i remember you telling me you get better performance in summer as opposed to winter with a hybrid. I also remember on another thread someone posting about the drive modes. I used to leave it in Normal as the dealer told me. Then someone posted he was told Eco in town normal on b road and sport on motorway. Ive done this with varying results on regular runs i do. Going to Cornwall i did this and i achieved 51mpg of which im well happy. im now at 4K plus miles and my mpg has improved greatly may well be the warmer weather or the fact I'm driving in Eco a lot more. So to sum up a very enjoyable ride and the UX met all my expectations and my demands and needs.

I saw these photos on a motor based website. It's a custom NX which is going to the SEMA show in the states. To me it looks outrageously brilliant. That's me. I know it isn't to probably 95% of Lexus folks taste but I just had to post those pics. No offence meant but just to enlighten.

Air and pollen filters are always fun. This was the one in my last Saab.

...I have just bought this 45k miles beauty...3 owner car with comprehensive lexus service history...as I like to do my own maintenance I have already changed the pollen filter,air filter,coolant, new plates, stripped all 4 brake calipers to regrease the sliders...new lexus mats and some new engine trim clips plus latest sat nav disc...really smitten with it...the obligatory newbie pictures...

The 2.0 litre Corolla hybrid estate is a very nice looking car with a good engine. It would be a car to tempt me away from Lexus in the future. Used of course!

2.0 engine is much nicer. Smoother, quieter and more powerful - but it depends on your priorities as it uses more fuel and is quite a bit more expensive.

@Malc Good on you for having that car. It was my first choice before the IS220 which I ended up getting as a means to an end. I might still get a LS400/Celsior import by the end of this year. I'm gonna maintain this car as best as I can, but I think it's more of an uphill battle.

It's an older term that was more appropriate before in-built screens displayed video or allowed multiple source inputs such as iPod, bluetooth, USB etc. The challenge you have with the GS430 is that the climate control system is operated via the screen, without any physical buttons, so you cannot lose that functionality. So you need a unit that fits in place of the old system but has enough room to accommodate all the existing computer system, plus accepts the input of the old system so you can still operate the climate. I'm sure there are systems out there but I'm not aware of them. Hi buddy...I have had a number of previous cars including a 6 series BMW, lovely car. Currently have a mini cooper, an old Porsche 911 and wife has a Mercedes SLK...I like Japanese cars...have owned 5 Accords (2.4 Estates) including a Type R... Had a lovely old Mercedes SL which we took to Provence a few times...fabulous old Merc build quality! ...fancied a Lexus and this lovely example came up so grabbed it...it's in truly beautiful condition...and such a pleasure to drive!

They are all normally one touch “All Auto” so press and release should raise/lower the windows fully. You’ll get a warning message before the battery goes flat and, if my memory serves me right, the audio, if this is the culprit, automatically switches off either simultaneously with the warning or very soon after it.

No, it uses the small 12v battery. It's very easy to flatten it in short time, e.g. listening to music.

If you want to fill the arches either 225/55/17 or 235/50/17 tyres with the correct load index and speed ratings, expect to pay in excess of £100.00 per corner for premium brands. Also check the centre bore size of the wheels, Lexus has 60.1mm anything smaller will not fit the hub and anything larger can be reduced with a set of spigot rings for around a fiver. Also check the type of wheel nuts required as most aftermarket wheels use tapered nuts whereas Lexus wheels use sleeved nuts. Using the incorrect type could damage the wheels or the wheel could become loose.

I did but the First Aid kit had expired, no coins either but I did find a half eaten stick of rock from Cleethorpes after removing the bottom seat cushion. I also did a history check which was a bit vague but given the stick of rock and the “We Love Skegness” sticker in the window I assume it has always been local trips.

Beautiful Phil stunning. Ive just come back from Cornwall and was there on longest day rubbish sunset by the way. But nearby was fields covered in poppies people came from everywhere to take pics apparently they are quite well known crantock/polly joke area.

It should be changed every 2 years/20k miles. Worth getting one with carbon in it to reduce odours and well as filter out particles of dirt.

My first LS400 had a shower, it stopped when I cleared the sunroof drain holes!

In what respect...me putting it on the forum or the seller listing it in Lexus cars for sale 😀 I’ll tell you something, with all the luxuries in the LS400 I’m disappointed to find mine does not have an end washroom complete with flushing toilet, basin and shower.

No I would not drive the car without an under tray the crap getting into the components around the front of the engine would be catastrophic. Get some light gauge aluminum sheet from a scrap yard and rivet a skin across the crack.

Few more recent pics, whilst I continue to use and enjoy the car I may also be in a position and in the market for an ISF. So until the right one pops up I’ll be keeping the 250

Not in touch with todays music and when this was on the TV I had never watched it or followed his performances in any way. Really surprised at just how good he does Elvis. Sad end from what I've since read. Respect for his singing voice.

Always reminds me of the trek I made to work for a Company that sold Soaps shaped as Toys (Cliro Perfumeries) to major Retailers, from two basement Basement Offices in Nottingham Place, W1. Of the time - Star Wars! Had to get the tube to the newly restored Baker Street from Liverpoool St Station and a short walk to Nottingham Place. Much time was spent by the staff checking to avoid the Directors' two Ferrari's from getting Parking Tickets.

No doubt it's largely down to age (although some younger people are attracted) but I like to listen to songs/music mainly pre 1980 when songs had a good melody, were clearly annunciated and not just a noise! Here is one by Matt Monroe, regarded by many as good as if not better than Sinatra and possibly the best male singer of his genre that England has produced. Llisten to perfect pitch, tone and clarity. Nice scenery and the Muira From 'The Italian Job.'

All Lexus models have direct TPMS with valve wheel sensors, but that doesn't mean you will get individual readings - only a warning if one drops 20% below the pressure set when calibrated. I believe only the Premier grade on the GS is able to show the individual pressures on pre-face lift vehicles. All grades have the feature on the facelift models (2016 onwards).

Happy to report that a replacement of part 85321-28020 solved the issue. The one I removed from the vehicle must have had something blocking it (I tried repeatedly to clear it without success) or some of the internal valves within the unit had failed in some capacity. As soon as the new was on, streams flowing equally. Cost £15 from Toyota. Damn expensive for what it is. Perhaps £3 non Toyota would have done the job, but I was unsure if the Toyota one did anything special other than stop the fluid flowing back to reservoir. Perhaps, distributing more flow to the valve than the other or something.
