Now the correct answer would have been "Azure Blue", but to the two lovely old ladies who had come to buy one of my surplus lawnmowers, the appropriate answer was "it's a Lexus". They then wanted to know all about Betsy - how many miles I did each month and what mpg I was getting (eyebrows were raised and "oooh"'s uttered when I told them of my peak 53mpg average on a trip to the Saarf Coast and back). It's a shame that they came in their own car, otherwise I could have used Betsy for her intended purpose and taxied them home again.

James was so pleased to receive such kind compliments about his car, he later discovered his car key was missing but thought it would turn up and went to bed. The next morning he discovered that his Lexus ES300h was gone.......a familiar looking lawnmower now stood in its place.

I do hope the handover followed the correct protocol and the lawnmower had a full tank of fuel 😀

Our lexus dealer gave us a 100% electric thing maybe a UX? After 20 minutes I was bored stiff with it. The heater was useless ( it was December ). Glad I don't have one. What a joy to get back in a proper car that has a character - the IsF. On the issue of rip-off fuel prices don't forget the government duty and tax take on every litre. As of today they have only given back 5p duty, most of which was nicked by the petrol companies. They need to halve the VAT and they will still be making a mint. Between the fuel companies and the Gov't we are all being taken for an expensive ride. Why do we put up with this. The French would be burning tyres and toll booths by now.

The RX was serviced when bought (Lexus Coventry) and i have not needed to top the oil up yet, it “looks” damn near as clean as the day it was changed despite the miles I have put on it, never had an engine keep this clean and that includes the Honda before it. It is used every day since purchase with a long trip down to Kent every 2 months or so & have just completed a trip to Spain and back adding about 2k mls and this all using 95 ron and one fill 98 as I never saw E10 anywhere over there, cannot say that the mileage was any better though using one over the other but keeping the speed down a bit did show a saving (60 ish instead of 70ish) Thought it best to replace the wiper blades prior to the trip so had a like on Wiper Blades.co.uk and opted for some Lucas items but they made a noise on the change over at the top of screen so called the company to ask if I could pop in on our way south to Plymouth for some replacements? For sure was the answer and what a top notch outfit they are, upgraded them to Bosch twins, fitted them and all for no extra charge, even using my Lexus card Halfords was more expensive so will always buy from them in future. Had been looking at wind deflectors for some time so opted for the OE items supplied by Lexus official store on EBay but the arrived with some damaged to the chrome trim, contacted them about it inc pictures and straight away a refund was offered or a set of replacements, or a hefty discount which I took as I wanted to use them on my trip, now fitted and well pleased with them. Bought this after viewing the High Peak Motors review on the tube and have to say glad I did “and” it does make you a calmer driver (IMO) but has the grunt to get you out of trouble should it be needed.

I have just sold an LC500 V8 and got back very nearly what I paid for it 3 years ago.I spoke to a couple of main dealers and both were extremely keen to buy it for cash. I know that these cars are selling steadily even with the crazy fuel rip off. Who knows what the future holds but having discussed this with all of my car pals,none of them are selling for any other reason than they have access to more than one nice car and are just not using one particular car enough. I don't work for anybody - long retired and never worked in anyway connected with motor industry or associated products. Had many old cars so no stranger to dealers stores for various spare parts. Just speak as I find. Sometimes people can have different experiences with same dealer. Aspersions were recently cast on a dealer in another thread by somebody, whereas another reported a good experience with that dealer.

Well guys it didn't work!! But..today I pulled it off again and found more debris right at the corner. When that was removed a drain hole could be felt right on the corner and it was now clear. Removed all the old silicone and re siliconed it and taped it into the exact position it should be in. I have now removed the tape and a water test indicated that the repair was effective! Hurrah! 🥳

So, I’ve been looking at the usual suspects. 911 of 997 Carrera S variety - but engine made of chocolate. TVR Tuscan - just couldn’t find one that was the same money and immaculate + always thinking is it going to get me there? Lotus Exige 350 Sport - nice but doesn’t have the class. F80 M3 and W205 C63 - great and quick but the M3 sounds terrible and has crank hub issues and the C63 was my real quandary. I’ve heard of some issues. What I really love is the reliability and exclusivity of the RCF. Those who know, know.

The Lexus link app has just gone to Order in progress. Lexus NX 350h Special metallic - Sonic grey order placed 27th November 2021 called into the dealership they said it should arrive in the UK August 🤞being retired there's no rush really when it comes it comes. Bearing in mind I had to wait 40yrs for my first new car 😂😂😂

Just treated myself to a 2015 RCF from Lexus Hedge End in Southampton. Fantastic people to deal with. The car is white with only 19000 miles on the clock. It’s immaculate and looks like it’s had a pampered life. Absolutely blown away by the car. I’ve had lots of performance cars over the years ranging from M3’s to Lotus Exiges, TVRs and VXR8’s. This RCF just seems the complete package. And the noise is to die for. Anyone else from the Hampshire area?

New to the club and new to Lexus, was a Range Rover Sport owner for many years.. MX on order and am looking forward to it very much. The service and test drives were amazing. Very impressed with the forums, and wonder if I may request help. I’ve noted members referring to an app I believe is called Lexus tracker, for delivery updates. Can anyone please advise how I get and use the app.

Due to being so busy with work this while I never got around to giving the 300h it's annual spring tidy up with the detar and polish. It was also starting to gather more than its fair share of scrapes and car park dings. So off it went to a local detailer for a paint correction and wax. Money well spent.

How do you mean you're surprised by the price of the rear tyres? I bought 2 Bridgestone tyres for mine last year and thought the price was very reasonable. Wind deflectors are a good idea I'm actually thinking of getting. I wouldn't bother with the grom as it's old hat now and not worth the money. I didn't think you was after upgrading the headunit. Bilal has now got an android unit which apart from a niggle or two is really good. If you're happy with the set up you have then keep it as it is. If you'd like to upgrade the headunit then there are a few very good android units, I personally favour the Teyes cc3 which actually looks like standard but still has the same size screen as opposed the other types with larger screens.

Hi Vlad, Thank you! Loving the car so far. These are soo underrated! IS is the perfect choice for me. I did consider the GS300 but far to large for me at the moment. Yes I have read about the calipers, the first gen IS had the same issue, I replaced the front calipers on my old IS. I will get these greased every year! Driving wise, the IS250 is very smooth, lovely engine, smooth gear change, although I do find the ride a little firm, I guess this is down to the 18 inch alloys and F-Sport suspension. I am impressed with how the IS250 drives, totally different car to the IS200. IS200 was more of an involving drive, you could feel the road more and the handling was sharper. I did love the manual box in the IS200, it made you drive the car hard. I feel the IS250 has enough power on tap for everyday driving and conditions, the acceleration is decent and over takes with ease. With original recorded audio CD's the sound is ace. MP3's etc the sound varies! I do have a few questions regarding the car which I will start new threads about. Also need to take some decent pics once I've detailed it!

I'm running my JCB Honda powered petrol mower on E5 to be safe. I've heard horror stories about petrol mowers, E10 and fuel lines (the scripts might be different and more accurate, but they're still horror stories about petrol mowers and E10...). I'm now doubting myself - is it a JCB mower? It's yellow, but it hasn't got a front or back scoop. Where did I get "JCB" from?

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f".. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Congrats on the IS mate, I've got the same IS250 F sport but in black and its hands down my favourite car! The mark Levinson audio is one of the best in class audio systems for that year of vehicle, you should have USB connectivity as well as bluetooth audio so theres no immediate need to upgrade the infotainment but if you do want an upgrade for apple CarPlay / android auto there are plenty of options. Few things that may need an upgrade are the rear boot struts if you find the boot isnt lifting very easily, SGS engineering is the way to go for those combined with some springs for automatic opening if thats your preference. LED interior and puddle lights are a nice cheap upgrade and spruces up the car a little. As Vlad has stated, the brake callipers do have a bad tendency to seize up so do get those sliding pins greased up every year and it should save you having to get new callipers! As long as you service the car every year with regular oil changes the car should look after you for many miles to come 👍🏼

And again yesterday ......... I followed a couple of nice people quietly chatting and meandering along a grassed track out of the venue .......... Wealden Times Summer Fayre at Hole Park, Rolvenden ....... I didn't toot them outta the goddam way ....... just waited for their look of utter shock as they sensed summat was up ! ......... as I was mouselike " barking " at their heels ......... just explained to them it's a V8 4 ltr and it's a Lexus ............. I’ve seen comparisons of noise levels inside cars moving at various speeds measured by the simple placement of a dB meter in the cabin. And, of course, Lexus always does well in such tests, particularly the ES, I believe. However, I’ve never seen comparisons measured from the outside. I suppose this is because there would be so many possible variables in terms of place, speed, weather etc., as to make testing very difficult to organize.

All these are mixtures between track cars and street legal cars. None of them qualify as track cars. Few (none) of them will be comfortable as daily drivers. A compromise is a compromise no matter how fun it can be to drive these cars. Best compromise is very old:

Alignment didn’t happen this morning, rear suspension needs to be rebuilt first due to issues with the rear camber bolts. One isn’t moving the arm so I think the bolt is seized and probably the bush is knackered as well. I had a good look at it all earlier and was going to start it but decided against it. So on Friday after I finish work I’ll get cracking on it and hopefully get it done over the weekend. If it goes into the next week it won’t be an issue and I’ll carry on after work that week. I plan to only do the lower suspension arms but I’ll see how it goes and maybe do the shocks and UCA’s.

Exactly that. You have to be qualified to work on a hybrid, whereas anyone with simple knowledge can work on a conventional car. Hybrids are still 3 phase like EV's

Maybe if you were one of their mates you might get some return on the investment, but the money is not going to the NHS or any other organisation that benefits the general public. I understand that, and that "service parts" are pretty much the same as a conventional car, I'm really refering to the real danger of inexperienced people trying to save money with DIY maintenance and the very real danger of electric shocks.

I’ve recently acquired my 17 plate F-Sport from Lexus Poole and there was no discount on my cash purchase, apparently they are not allowed to due to PCP regulations (which sounded like bull). Got free 125 miles delivery to Hertfordshire though.

Different breed of vehicle. One is a GT car and this is designed more for the race track. I highly doubt refinement and build quality will be as good as the LC. The other issue is yes, the engine may be reliable but the electronics could potentially be a nightmare

Finally managed to get some photos. Had it around 3 weeks now but done very few miles. Absolutely loving the car, brilliant drive, very quiet and comfortable - I came from a SQ5 so was worried I would miss the performance - shouldn't have been, performance is very impressive. Sorry I can't comment on economy, it came with a full tank and still has a full tank. I've charged it twice and as my mileage is mainly local, it never runs the engine. I am keen to get a few miles on the engine before any long motorway trips so have been trying to flatten the battery, proving more difficult than I anticipated. Battery just reached 30% and the engine has just started to kick in, although I only know by looking at the dash. Still waiting to hear back about the wall box charger but to be fair the included charger comfortably charges the car overnight. I was surprised to find that it came with heated rear seats, I thought they had been dropped. Loving the black seats by the way, they are more grey to be fair and I figured they would be a more practical choice with kids in the car. Had hazel in two RX's which did start to look grubby - easily cleaned though. Don't remember what lead me to think that it came with card and digital key, it doesn't (450h+ F Sport Takumi). I did get a speed limiter, which I wasn't anticipating. Works really well as the limiter pretty much adjusts the speed according to the speed limits picked up by either the nav or road signs, just requires a button press to acknowledge the change. Heads up is brilliant as are the steering wheel controls, 14in infotainment system and digital rear view mirror. Lexus Hull made a great job of fitting the front and rear dash cams which came at a very reasonable £375 in fact, the service was first rate from start to finish. I already feel this is going to be one of my favourite cars to date.

Bonjour Bjorn! Do I recall you replaced the steering rack on your ISF? If so, why? What were the symptoms of it being gone? Thanks old bean. Think I've finally fixed my phantom steering rattle today (new rack ends and track rod ends) but keen to see if you had the same rattle as me. If course all of this could just be a figment of my imagination. Are we all really here anyway? Who knows?

Main cats on the IS300h are high up in the engine bay so hard to get to although secondary cat I believe is still accessible but maybe because the IS300h is relatively rare I haven't heard of any thefts yet. Gracenote displays album info on the main screen when playing music but goes out of date as new albums are released - it's updated with the Sat Nav (if you ever do that). It's not that good though and the album covers often aren't the ones that you would have got with the CD for example (at least in the UK). I use a Faraday pouch to store the keys when not in use - only a few pounds from Amazon/eBay etc. - do test it though when you get it just to be sure (put keys in and hold by the door handle and make sure you can't unlock using the handle sensors). I keep the second key in a tin (with other spare keys) which does the same job. As above the smart entry can also be disabled (but I like it so go with the Faraday pouch). The car should come with 12 months warranty and so go out and drive it and make sure if anything comes to light in that first year get it fixed by Lexus. A few things that I've learnt from experience and this forum: Biggest issue is not driving the car as many who leave it stood for extended periods (maybe a couple of weeks) find the 12V battery goes flat. If you have any issues with that get the 12V battery changed as a first step (don't mess around trying to fix/charge etc as by then probably too late and you'll just be chasing your tail - make sure you get the correct Lexus AGM one and get Lexus to change it as there a couple of reports of issues with the audio head unit being damaged by people changing their own battery) - then drive regularly (at least once a week a decent distance or a few times a week shorter distances) and you won't have an issue. I use my car regularly - it's a 2014 reg with 118k miles (bought it when it was 2 years old at 40K miles) and it's still on original 12V battery. If you have to leave it for extended periods without driving look into a trickle charger (lots of info in this forum). As a back up get one of the glovebox Li Ion starter packs and that will get you going no problem should the 12V be flat as the 12V battery only boots the car's computers as there is no traditional starter motor - that is all done through the traction battery and the electric motors. However once the battery had been flattened a couple of times it's probably damaged and not going to be reliable. When not moving the engine will kick in and charge the traction battery every so often as needed - but never leave the car gear shift in N for any length of time as the traction battery is NOT charged when in N - always keep it is D (or S) with foot on brake or P when stood still with the engine on. And if say listening to eg the radio keep the car on (it will mostly sit with the engine off and the electrics being run by the traction battery) otherwise with the smaller 12V battery it's easy to discharge that especially if it's already weak. Also NEVER jump start someone else's car from your car as a normal car with a starter motor will draw too much from your car and could cause damage. Oh yes - and read the manuals - there are differences in driving a hybrid and lots of tech to get acquainted with... Overall though a very reliable car and fingers crossed you'll have no major issues.

That's correct. Only the RX series II and series III plus the CT have cat locks available as there are the targeted vehicles.
