Mine is white with the red and black interior which go together really well. The white paint shows the exterior black parts really well. The all black interior is a little dull for me. Structural blue probably would have been my first choice but it wasn't available when I ordered mine. Have you actually seen that colour in the flesh?

I now know that the engine in the 350 has a timing chain, not a belt, so just ignore what I said above as it's too late for me to edit it out. Found the pdf file: reversing lights.pdf I also fitted these Daytime Running Lights too. 36, Technical Support Engineer. Recently got my silver IS-F, always been a Subaru guy but loving the car so far!

One thing to check is the cam belt, they should be changed at 100k miles or 10 years, whichever is sooner - you're not there on mileage but you are on time. If it's not been done, you should also have the idlers/tensioners and water pump changed at the same time because 90% of the work done to change the belt would have to be done again to get to the water pump if it was done at a different time, resulting in two big bills instead of just one. At least that's the case with the RX300 and the 1MZ-FE engine, so I'm assuming the 350 will be the same. The reversing lights on the RX300 are absolutely abysmal so again, if the 350 is the same you'll almost definitely be wanting to do the mod to change them to LEDs. These are the LEDs I got for the reverse lights. There's also a pdf file knocking about on the forum somewhere showing how to get the reverse light 'shrouds' out too.

Hi, I don’t think I’m the only one that considers the overall sound quality of the standard audio system in the IS300h to be disappointing. Upgrading the speakers can result in an improvement in sound quality in just about any audio system and that’s what I’ve begun to do with my IS300h, starting with the dash speakers. Unfortunately it was not a straight forward plug in and bolt in job, a bit of tweaking and butchering is required. I replaced the stock dash speakers with a pair of Pioneer TS-E1002I. The stock speakers have standard bolt spacing and that is the only part of the fitting that was right from the start. The stock speakers are unusually small for what are essentially 10cm speakers. I measured the speaker cones at less than 5cm! Some headphones have drivers that size, they really are feeble, nasty things. The Pioneers are deeper and wider than stock and it was necessary to use a stanley knife to trim away some of the internal plastic of the dash to make some space for the Pioneers. More of this trimming was needed for the passenger side than the driver side. The speaker space is not symetrical between left and right, indeed the speaker grilles are different sizes which I didn’t notice until I had them off. Luckily the plastic is quite soft. Because the Pioneer speakers are deeper than stock I had to mount them 5 or 6mm higher up to clear some of the ventilation system ducting that runs close to the speakers. I used rubber grommets as spacers, If I had some washers of the right size at hand I probably would have used a stack of them instead. I might go back and do so yet. As a precaution I also trimmed away some plastic from the underside of the grilles to create a little more clearance above the speakers. The biggest fiddle was electrically connecting the speakers. I scoured the internet for ready made IS300h dash speaker adaptors but couldn’t find any. That left two oprions, cut the existing plug off and use crimps or make my own adaptor using the sockets molded into the stock speaker. Although crimps were my first choice I decided against them because the loom wires feeding the speakers are short and you have very little working space with them tight into a corner. So I carefully cut the sockets off the stock speakers, filed them down into neat pieces and then soldered on the wires supplied with the Pioneers. A lump of epoxy putty at the back of the sockets sealed the connections in. All in all a bit of fiddling and faffing about but the result was worth it. The improvement in sound quality is substantial. Front doors next

nearly 60 and do IT stuff. Had lots of cars over the years but the IS-F is the best all rounder i've ever had. I've put near 80k on it since I got it and apart from brakes and tyres, the only other thing that's happened is it might need a new shock absorber at the next service.... So I may actually get some use out of the warranty after all. Seriously thinking about swapping for an RC-F next year given the way the prices are tumbling.... I know the GS-F drives better but they are still a bit expensive for me and I don't think the trade in on my car will hold up so well if it gets past 100k.

I decided against getting the warranty, the £895.00 for two years is fairly reasonable, it's the servicing within the dealer network that's the issue, its just too expensive for higher millage users. I've yet to hear from fellow owners of expensive warranty claims relating to the IS300h, with it being one of the most reliable cars on the road I'm going to take my chances.

@mike m The Alfa drives well apparently, would I buy with my money...... er no. A new one I’ve seen up 7k off list, not great for residual if they are doing that already. Second hand with delivery/ demo mileage 12k off, running a second hand Italian performance car that’s complicated to boot not for me. The main reason I say this is the dealerships, there are 2 guys with these at the club I go to and parts availability is abysmal combined with a lack of knowledge. Big Rat

Thank you all for your lovely comments! Car has passed it's mot, and as previously stated my garage have been quite fussy with it, so lots of advisories. All in all though I'm happy that it's passed and everything that is down as an advisory should be able to be fixed or at least updated to keep it running for another 20 years! The paintwork could do with repainting on a couple of corners and there's a few blemishes here and there. Overall it needs a full polish and wax, something that I should be able to complete on Sunday. Along with a good hoovering and dose of leather cleaner. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Yes, Im on DW, the only member who rings a bell with a Touareg and Q30 is Nanoman! Before signing, just take a good look around the car, Im sure you'll spot any poor paint or dents that should be sorted beforehand. Lexus Sheffield has great customer service though so you should be fine but I don't know what their prep department is like. If you do spot anything, I am pretty sure they'll sort it out without any quibbles. The wheels are probably worth checking as they corrode and for some reason, the 2nd Gen RX tends to get a lot of stonechips up front so its more than likely been resprayed or touched up. And yes, the RX350 is permanent 4WD The DVD changer does play movies, but Im pretty sure you can only play them when the car is stationary so probably no use for an output (which I dont think exists anyway).

@Nutey Duncan welcome to the forum, 3 have come on the market since Monday but I see you want a face lift car, you need IMO to get yourself a test drive in one any one if you can as ride feel between them is marginal if anything on our 'great surfaced roads ' and is not as bad as journalists have made out. As regards the wheels they are corner specific so they need to look like this which ever wheel it is........ Sorry about the generic pic but it shows it well, as regards LSD unless you are going to track it it pretty pointless on the road, the conectivity in the later ones is better though. I already have a wife and her name is not Michael. Takes an average Joe quite a few weeks to actually save up £700 pounds to spend doesn't it? That's why it makes me feel quite ticked off to hear about professionals taking advantage of their position. These people just don't understand what a great proportion of a persons annual disposable income they are asking for when they make such slapdash repair estimates. I'd stick with the cream interior. Easy to keep clean and looks more upmarket than the rep car black. If it's a 2007 you might be able to squeeze in a 2 year warranty.

Have to say that is lovely looking, great plate too! I'm no fan of cream interiors but the exterior matches it nicely. Health to enjoy.

For about a grand for two years cover, I think it's a good insurance policy Rayaan. I notice the cars you run are just a few years younger than mine, that influences my decision.

The only time electric cars will be a serious mode of transport( this is just my opinion) is if you can charge them up wirelessly. Something the battery car lot seem to have forgotten What happens to all the cars that are plugged into their charging points and late one night along comes little Johnny, drunk and as high as a kite with his mates out come all the charging cables. If you have a nice private drive with gates or garage then you will be OK but for huge numbers of people who live in the inner towns and cities, you won't have a chance in hell of the electric car succeeding.

No need to be rude... I see your point, it really depends which part you are talking about and in which picture. It goes from orange to "orange'ish-brown"... still not exactly colour you would pair with blue. The seats as well goes from white to cream depending which picture we are talking about... one way or the other the colour combo looks distasteful to me..

Having come from Audi's with BOSE and B&O systems the ML in the Lexus if far superior, great quality sound and so loud - took me a while to realise there was a setting that was adjusting the volume in accordance with speed, once I turned that off the system is dynamite!!!
