lexus owners - what did we drive before?

I was wondering what cars you all drove before getting your first Lexus. Is there a common background here? In my case i started off with several Alfa Romeo's. GT Junior, Giulia, GTV, then SAAB's. the 9-3 in several versions, and then the first Lexus came along ( IS250 2nd gen ), then BMW 320 and now back to Lexus with an 300H F-Sport.  What attracted me was the individualism, the beeing different, not german.

what about you?

Well the cars I actually bought - ford fiesta, VW Passat, Lexus RX300 and Lexus RX450H

Wife's cars - peugeot 106, Peugeot 306, VW Passat, Mercedes C220CDI, Lexus IS300H

My wife keep her cars for a long time. The RX300 I used for 8 years as I had a lot of things going on business wise so couldn't change

I've driven company cars for most of my life.  Sierras, Vectras, Accords, Passats etc.

Since then I've owned a swb Pajero (needed to get the fwd bit out of my system), two Saab 9-5s, then two Saab 9-3 Aeros an estate and a convertible (Mrs and I had one each).

Just over a year ago got a 2nd gen IS250 saloon and loved it.  Had the convertible for just a couple of months now, looking forward to some nice weather.....hopefully !!!!

Ford Cortina, Hillman Hunter (don't ask!), Renault 5, Renault 19 1.4 Petrol, Renault 19 1.9L Turbo Diesel, Toyota Avensis 2.0L, which I admit isn't an exciting car but it served me so well for twelve and a half years and over 112,000 miles. A few niggles and hiccups along the way, of course, but generally oh so reliable!

First car was a 1964 Hillman Super Minx. That was 1980. Countless cars since then including a Renault Fuego Turbo, Saab 900 Turbo, Jag XJS Sovereign, Nissan 200ZX, Saab 9-5 Griffin, Merc CLK320. I'd never even heard of Lexus and stumbled over them when getting rid of the first and last Merc. First Lexus was 2nd gen IS250, then IS300h F Sport and now NX 300h F Sport. Next? Unless Lexus get with the EV revolution it will probably be a Tesla Model S.

My last 2 cars were an MG ZTT , fantastic car in Ignition blue, turned heads, as was unusual, took it to Monaco, and it got more attention than the 2 a penny exotica down there!

Last car was a Hyundai Santa fe, which despite being 10 years old and 120k + I have gone back to, as i am now doing more miles than expected so trying to keep the mileage down on the IS, the Santa fe is built like a tank and I suspect will outlast the IS, it is quieter at a cruise - less road noise, rattle free, and rides better. also as it is comparatively worthless, I worry less about where I take it.

First car I owned was an Allegro 1.1 in 1981, followed by a Metro 1.3S and then an XR2 (my first brand new car).

Then it was company cars for several years, an Orion, a Cavalier, three Mondeos (1.8, 2.0 and 2.5) followed by my first Lexus, an IS200.

I changed jobs and had to buy my own cars again, first a Focus 2.0, a BMW 323 and then back to Lexus with an IS220D followed by an IS250 and now the IS300h.
